    Love & hip hop is the most degrading and ratchet ass reality show on air at this time. There is no comparison to housewives. Also she’s talking about a full range but what full range is shown on her show? Block people are only shown in one light

  • @THEMOVIEBAE
    @THEMOVIEBAE Před 3 lety +22

    I STRONGLY disagree. And for her to compare herself to “white show and white producers” they receive flack for those projects too! Prime example is The Rock of Love shows. That’s show and the cast were slammed for being “Trashy” so save the comparisons mama.
    My problem with what SHE is doing is the NEGATIVE REPRESENTATION of black women is THE ONLY representation that is shown. There is no variety in the cast nor the storylines she chooses to exploit. THATS why u are vilified love.

    • @HGM19922

      You forgot to add that Rock of Love led to a major tragedy, but Mona Scott Young is nothing more than a middle man between white execs at VH1 and her cast.

      No disrespect but She isn’t doing anything to contribute to the negative representation of black women, whether we’re seen as lawyers, doctors, etc etc etc racist always gon see us how they see us, as niggas. and further more why do you care so much how the black woman is perceived ? Who gives a fuck how people view us, it’s time y’all stop caring about how people view us and realize they got they own stuff going on. Black women on love and hip don’t make up for everyone, they don’t represent everyone; they represent themselves. Point blank

  • @tobinpalmer7291
    @tobinpalmer7291 Před 3 lety +17

    Mona Scott is a powerful influencer of negative stereotypes of black men and women. Love and hip hop is a low vibrational tv show that highlights toxic relationships. This in turn is viewed by YOU and embedded in your subconscious, pulling that low vibration into your reality and relationships. As a result, black women are fearful of loving black men and can't figure out why. Thinking that all black men want to do is screw around while the women on the show maintain low level drama. Fighting over who's screwing who's man while engaging in catty behavior towards eachother. Stop falling for this scripted false reality and WAKE UP. These people are NOT for you. They are robbing you women of your lives by planting negative seeds (fear, doubt and worry) in your minds. CUT THIS SHIT OFF AND FIX YOUR RELATIONSHIPS. DON'T KEEP LETTING THESE VULTURES KILL BLACK LOVE. It is very selfish and down right irresponsible to highlight such negativity for the sake of lining one's pockets.

    Her show is a form of payola for has beens and socialites who want fame. It’s scripted af, but those celebs really internalize the negativity they were pimped to push on the show. “I need a good storyline for tv play” “imma hop on they storyline to be relevant” and they create drama, the show runners create scenes and cinema vérité scripts that they run through over and over until it’s believable. So her trying to sell this “for black women to be heard” BS is annoying af. She knows she’s hurting our community as black women. Life imitates art and vice versa. So they got regular women walking around mimicking these women on tv and stanning them on social media feeding into these storylines and internalizing that same negativity. Whole time these celebs are being treated like a marionette show. For money, which is how the kids say “on some demon time”.

      @@mrcharles4636 That's nice that you enjoyed the show. But unfortunately it definitely is scripted. cinema verite is tricky because they take people's real lives, and they spin storylines. Much of the drama is not real they be cool or cordial irl, the relationships are often fake as well, and the shots are staged. You ever noticed a scene with context and how perfectly it's choreographed? That's called cinema verite. Coined in the 70's from the first reality tv series. I'm not sure of your background... But I have 2 film/tele degrees and I've been on reality tv sets since undergrad, I am speaking from trained experience and insight, also went to school in atlanta specifically and I've seen these reality tv stars irl, a lot of them are starkly different. I'm not giving a strong opinion with a CZcams degree lol, I'm telling you the god honest truth, don't believe any of the stuff you see or hear on tv or social media. More than half the drama online is fake too, because ppl are realizing they're profiting off of it.

    Its not what is being presented its HOW. The difference is we dont have as many outlets/options as white viewers. So the ones we do have stand out and the black community takes it all very directly. Also the shows dont highlight highs and low it only emphasizes the lows. It's all for the drama of the thing and that's just tv.
    I feel where she's coming from but it dismisses what is and favors what is ideal. We gotta be real and honest. We are not there yet with African-American content. Every hit show matters towards us getting to that point though.

    She protects black people's image, um ok. However, if people want to get on her they need to use that same energy with these black rappers/athletes and etc. who also use their platform to keep these negative stereotypes about black people/colorism/violence/gangs/drugs and etc. going on.
    A lot of the most famous black singers, athletes, rappers dead/alive promoted colorism and the notion that non-black designers, engineers, producers, artists, models, lands and etc. was better. So there is a race of babies growing up to hate themselves and their own people because they were directly or indirectly taught by their own community that blacks aren't pretty, smart, educated and kind. If they could use their platforms 20+ years to have shows about blacks being good people then what's the problem now

    I've always lived around blacks. My JHS & HS had way more blacks than any other race. It's 20 yrs later, & I'm still in a black neighborhood, & the black women on Love & Hip Hop, don't come off as exaggerations of what it's like to live around, work with & socialize with black women. That show is real life. Black people gotta stop blaming the news & entertainment media for how they're represented & take ownership for their behaviors. If you don't like what you see, change. I work in a hospital, & the blacks there tend to be janitors & nursing assistants, it's so wonderful (but rare) to encounter black RNs, CRNA'S, NPs, PA's, MD's and administrators. KNOW THIS: White people are out here rooting for y'all. A couple years ago, I told a black intern physician that her white resident physician presenting every patient in interdisciplinary rounds was not the norm & that I just wanted her to know that. She reassured me that she's doing plenty of work and contributions to the patient care plans. And I told her I realized that, but when the patient's are presented in rounds, she's not getting the credit for her work if she's not presenting the patient. I felt awful afterwards because it came out all wrong & not how I intended. A couple days later, she took me aside & thanked me for my input. It became caught her off guard when I took the risk to tell her that usually the intern presents patients, & it felt really great to have that follow up & to know that she heard what I was trying to say & what my heart was conveying (cause you can't say anything directly in this day & age). Anywho, that's all I wanted to share. Have a blessed day.
