    Man, you're a life saver.
    I'm working with people from JP Morgan and they used this Interpolation to determine interest rates.
    I tried to do this what you explained and I got the same values as they did.
    Thanks again!

    Saved my time and energy. Far better videos than others for linear interpolation.

    This may be a silly question, but is it possible to linearly interpolate negative values as well? I'm just beginning to learn this now on my own for a research project and so am not super familiar with this process

    Good day sir. I follow your formula and its work. But how about if i have a(11.798,15.055) , b(18.326,22.639), c(24.848,30.229). I have also known d(18.666,16.059). Now i want to know the foot perpindicular to the line w/c AB using your formula but the outcome is not match..can you help me sir.thanks

    I was with you until 8:13, How did you move the formula without manually changing the rows? I thought you might be cutting and pasting but I got lost here.

    • @davidlampert5804
      @davidlampert5804  Před 3 lety +1

      Jason, at 8:13, I copied the formula for the Yupper and then manually dragged the cell references from the Y to the X column (twice) and to the Xlower cell rather than the Ylower (D16 to B16). I hope that answers your question.

      Probably F4 button is under function mode like volume or brightness of a screen. Try to push fn+F4 and see how it works

      F4 is one of the function keys (www.rd.com/article/computer-f-keys/). Maybe not all keyboards have function keys though (particularly outside the USA)?

    There are some errors. It should be as shown below:
    For Xupper:=INDEX($A$5:$A$25,MATCH(K5,A$5:$A$25)+1)
    For Yupper: =INDEX($B$5:$B$25,MATCH(M5,$B$5:$B$25,-1)+1)
    For your information.

    People who are watching this video, know the meaning of interpolation. They just came here to know the excel trick. So, don't elongate the video unnecessary by talking about the details of interpolation. Just stick to the point and come directly to the excel function that is required. 10 minutes for this simple trick is useless.
