Love snappers. Grew up around them in the southern US and we now live in Delaware in a house backing on a river. Spring is snapper parade time as the big boys go out looking for love. We even see them strolling down the sidewalk in front of our house. It’s Jurassic Park around here, lol.
Oh, c'mon...it's not like the snapping turtle can whirl around suddenly & grab you. If you're used to dealing w/ agile animals, this guy (out of water) would be no problem...
So silly to try to remove crocs. Folks tried to wipe out alligators in the US and the ecological consequences were devastating. My rule in gator country is that any body of water, other than a cold spring, may have one or more gators living there and is a no swim zone. They not only keep down pests like rats, but also kill feral pigs and young pythons.
