Kudos to the interviewer , who asked ALL of the tough questions , she didn’t skip a beat , but she also was compassionate without coddling him or making it a fluff interview . Well done .

I met Kevin once - at a SNL party after he had hosted the show. I was a fan, not an industry person at the time, and he patiently answered all my questions. He was a lovely guy, and I appreciated the time he gave me (right) in the middle of a storming party. Life is complicated.
Never met him, never spoke or being next to him.
I will nevertheless be forever grateful to Kevin Spacey for the joy , thrill and pleasure of the characters he has created.

I watched the documentary last week only because he has been one of my favorite actors. I’m reading all the comments of love and support and the fact that this was a really good interview. She did it exactly the way it should be done.
But I’m still having a hard time accepting that these men that seemed so vulnerable and so authentic and real and had the same sense of shame and embarrassment I’ve seen with women that have been through the same experiences that I’ve never seen before with men. I know they are raised not to cry or not to be emotional and I thought they were being very vulnerable and real. I love Kevin but I’m sorry I do believe the men in that documentary. I know I’m probably the only one that’s going to say this but I did not feel that they were lying. What would be the agenda of going up into the public forum and share their experiences?

Don't know if Kevin Spacey is guilty or not to all these things BUT he does have a point that people were extremely quickly to judge. Everything happened so fast without much evidence, thought or anything else. If guilty.. Put him away. "Cancel Culture" is not the right way.
I’ve always thought he’d be back, but superstardom would never be his again. He’ll easily find work, but that work will probably be regional theatre or microbudget Eurasian productions that get buried on VOD.

Yes. It's mostly about money, though, no noble intentions. Corporations are afraid to lose money so they fire people and reshoot scenes in movies. They would even put a finished film on ice just because Spacey acted in it. That means the work of thousands of crew members was for nothing. There should be consequences in law for people who make spurious accusations that are subsequently dismissed in court. If there are no consequences we will continue to see persistent persecution like this.
I was wondering about that too. What about anti-defamation suit like Depp did against Amber Heard? I think the person has to bring a lawsuit against the accused like slander. Excellent interview by Allison Pearson. She asked very tough questions, not skirting around the issues. Kevin Spacey seemed to be very open and honest. I appreciate the fact that he wasn't evasive even on the most difficult questions. A good lesson in not judging someone until all the facts are on the table.
''very tough questions''? Which were they? She obviously was sympathetic to Spacey from the get go and her questions reflected that. Ms Pearson said at one time that nothing that Spacey was accused of was a crime in law. Since when has masturbating in a cinema, a public place, not been a crime? Are US citizens allowed to do that?

I have worked in the UK theatre industry for 20 years. The amount of young men I've met who have Kevin Spacey stories is countless. A predator whatever the courts said.

Thoughtful, meaningful interview. Interviewer was compassionate but straightforward and skilled. Kevin was open, sincere and likable. Of course, I've always like him. He's a brilliant actor. But he's also a kind, gentle and funny man. I hope to see him doing what he loves and does better than most - acting. He is a prime example of a flawed human (aren't we all!) who more than deserves a bright new future.

I feel so sorry for him. Prejudgments can just ruin someone’s life when they are unjustified and I get so angry when I see people exactly doing this. This documentary is also so unnecessary. I really don’t know what these people are thinking when they come up with these nonsense accusations...

Everyone I know thinks he's one of the most lifted actors of our lifetime and it's an absolute tragedy to lose him in the cinematic universe. The problem for Spacey, with this new documentary, is that the allegations are specific and overlap quite a bit. The accusers are credible and paint a picture of a deeply disturbed man who used his fame to protect himself.

Kevin Spacey is a great actor. I think he is one of the best of our time and I like all his movies. I still don’t know if he did it though. Great actors can be predators. Innocent people can be found guilty and guilty people can be found not guilty. I withhold judgement.

Have watched this several times now. He's not acting the nervousness and the jumpiness and the misery over the mother. Does he have something shameful to hide or elide? Kevin Spacey is one of my favorite actors. I really want him to come back to acting and feel he should be allowed to return. This was a great interview, and it's good to hear him discuss his life and his progress after all is this. But he shouldn't have because people got on a bandwagon and threw him to the wolves. I really hope he has a come back. He worked hard his entire life and deserves it. Scandals in Hollywood have been around forever. I’m so glad I found this interview with Mr. Spacey after watching the MAX broadcast a few nites ago. I feel better about how Kevin is responding to these accusations and look forward to his return to acting as he has always been a favorite. He is sorry for anything he has done wrong and we need to forgive him and move on.
I think he is guilty of all that he was accused of. But , he has been cleared in two courts of law. So he needs to be accepted back in Hollywood . He is a very talented actor who has a right , now , to pursue his expertise like any human being who was declared by a court.
The downside to being one of the World's Best Actors is that we will never be able to know whether Kevin Spacey is being genuine or not. But he was acquitted on all charges. I grew so much watching Kevin’s performances and wish to see him very soon in new projects and enjoying his life . Difficult times always cause growth when they befall the right person , and Kevin Spacey surely became the actor he is and moved us all with his performances never by coincidence . I really wish Kevin Spacey all the happiness and fulfillment he has given to us all .
I’ve always liked Kevin. A great actor. And I believe he’s learned from his mistakes and should be allowed to work again. I also believe at least some of what his accusers have said as well. I think his was an extreme case of hubris and ego. But, again, I feel he’s learned and should be allowed to show his redemption. Nobody should be cancelled forever if they’ve learned their lessons. It’s just humane.

The insidious thing is how hard it is to distinguish real victims from people without conscience, who unbelievably pretend to be victims.
…. those do exist. They are just as bad as actual abusers, because they exploit in a secondary manner victims of abuse, adding insult to injury.
It’s that normal people can’t wrap their mind around somebody lying like that, that keeps these other abusers safe, while we as onlookers are helpless to identify what has happened as we don’t have the full picture.
Ultimately it’s real victims suffering, who have a really hard time coming forward in the first place and then getting justice is even harder.

The type of probing investigation that goes into the accuser's life is such that victims often drop the action because they cannot bear the intrusion. Victims often find that they feel that they are on trial, and given the low success rate of prosecuting SA successfully, they find that they have been re-traumatised by being questioned (usually in a hostile manner) over events that are really upsetting to recall.

There are LOTS of examples of predatory behavior though- behavior that KS admits to but dismisses as being 'flirty.' Talented, but so what? What about the people who are anxious to be around him on set for fear he'll grope or grind on them. What about them?
Well that’s why he’s expressing to the audience that he’s been working to become a better person and not do things like that anymore and he’s reached out to those he’s hurt and made uncomfortable. He’s apologized to people and has worked to become a better human being now that he sees the damage he’s caused some people the last 7 years. It’s crazy how no one wants to give him credit or some grace for that effort. I guess no one is allowed to learn from their mistakes anymore
I can’t believe how easy it is for people to think his behaviour was ok he targeted people who didn’t have power that could not stand up to him , I feel sorry that he was abused by his father but that doesn’t excuse his behaviour there’s no smoke without fire and of course big celebrities never saw that side of him he only went after the coffee person , the bit part actor so those people are just supposed to take it are they because he’s a good actor ? I hate to see Kevin Spacey such a broken man. He is dealing with it trying to put on a brave face but he so wants to be back at work and us fans want to see him back where he belongs as he is such an amazing actor and I miss seeing him and his spell binding performances. He has been cleared he is innocent of the charges bought just let him breathe again

I'd like to see someone ask him about his reputation for being one of the biggest arseholes in Hollywood. It's been said by a lot of people that he is just unpleasant to be around and talks to crew members as just being unworthy of his time.
She had great questions… I have my own questions about his character, but he’s a great actor and hope he’s working out any lingering issues...sounds like this is so. I do wonder how much ‘revising’ some of his personality traits in real life would have on his future acting output though.
Opps: one more thing. Being not found guilty by the court does not mean a person is innocent.
And being accused does not mean a person is guilty.
I love his acting. Genius. Is he guilty? Most likely. Many men have come forward. He had a messed up childhood. Can see how his childhood made him escape into his characters.

I miss him on-stage - American Beauty was amazing! (But all his movies are good.)

If Kevin Spacey is in a film, he enriches it with his presence by way of being an engaged and meticulous actor. If he is in a film, and I hear about it/see a trailer... I'm watching it, nevermind purchasing it for my collection. His craft is his work... not his personal life... the former of which is where we all "met." Within the "public realm," cheers for the ability to accept information, curate and support evidence, and have the willful urgency to accept both accountability and outcome. This line is fine. This line is fragile... and it has been navigated with grace...

Railroaded. I was one who believed Anthony Rapp, and was devastated because Kevin Spacey is my favorite actor. When he was vindicated I was relieved and excited for him. It also caused me to look internally before I rush to judgement. I sincerely hope we see him on the screen again soon. An exceptional talent that deserves redemption.

Why would so many people come forward to lie? I think Kevin is in denial and even more so because he was found innocent of the charges against him.
The likelihood of women lying about SA is less than 1%. It’s a lot less for men coming forward with allegations too.
I can’t blame him for thinking he can act his way of this but I think he’s bitten off a bit more than he can chew here.
