Carried the Izula II for nearly 7 years every day before changing to the 3HM. Both are fantastic blades and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fixed blade.
@@mapsgillnet6762 that’s almost Apples to oranges in comparison. The footprint of the carry options are very different. But if I was gonna buy one- I’d go with the 3hm. Slightly longer reach, a bigger belly sweep and a slightly thinner blade gives it a better capability of slicing and cutting- while being only a tiny bit heavier.
@@mapsgillnet6762 I have both. I much prefer the feel of the 3HM for most everything. I also own and carry the fixed blade Xancudo. I like it better than the Izula II but not as much as the 3HM. Also it’s stainless steel so it’s a bit harder to sharpen if you let it get dull.
that was cute, im batoning the crap out of the hardest wood i can find and prying all kinds of sticks to shreds with my 3hm. im treating this lil guy like my esee 5. love esee as a company....
Really excited about this model, and your Junglas II. I *definitely* would like to test them with some of their competitors. On a side note, those Sven saws are just great. Only ones I use now. They cut well, weigh nothing, and no bulk!
I have big hands. I purchased the regular esee 4 and hate it and it stays in my drawer. I have the hm4 and absolutely love it. Fits my hand so much better. So for those with bigger hands I recommend the hm models. So about this handy tomahawk… who makes that??
I really like the HM versions my question is where can I find a 3 with the Skull and crossed knives logo? I think that is pretty badass i've never seen one with any other etching other than "ESEE"
deagleimi50ae you won’t find one unless it is an Alumni Knife from one of our classes. There may be a few select runs that had that logo in small batches. But I can’t recall any off the top of my head.
yeah i notice to all the knife freaks , use a hatchet not a knife for splitting wood and use fat lightered to start a fire , simple lol , i am a knife freak but lets get real , love you're product , i would own more than the 4 but i'm making my own now , thanks

A black coated knife is only good for wood use or other cutting chores not for food use . I will stay with my LT Wright GNS in AEB-L and LT Wright Next Gen in AEB-L , great knives .
Thanks for the quick response! The JG3 is definitely in the running.Too many excellent choices in your line of knives. When I decide I will let you all know how it works out. This will be my first Esee.
Why an ESEE? I have a $40 Schrade SCHF42D, in 1095 steel w/full flat grind. It's taken a beating an has held up well. What does an ESEE knife offer, in quality, that I'd be getting for the price difference?
oldtimer4567 if your Schrade is working for you then by all means stick with it. All of our fixed blade knives are USA made and have a lifetime transferable warranty. If you break it, for any reason, we will replace it.
I love the HM series, and appreciate y'all for putting them out there.
Glad to hear it! you are more than welcome.
The 3hm should totally come in stonewashed S35VN as well. Much prefer the handle on the hm & the standard 3 comes in both 1095 & S35VN.
Just gotta upgrade the steel to something that is more durable. I own the 3/4 in s35, but I'd like to not worry about blade durability

I'm an Esee fanboy. My first is the Izula V1 with G10 scales. Love the high carbon blade. Easy to sharpen, holds an edge well.
