      Really..the owners manual actually says it’ll be taped to the wiring unit..I do see the tape but after 17+ years, can’t read it..luck if the Irish my arse!😁

    Great video man, pretty easy and straightforward... Is your Marauder an 03, cos the product description on Amazon's website says the one you gave in the link only fits 92-2003 models?

    I didnt get a Marauder back in 04...because I wanted the fake wood dash lol. Kind of regret it, but I do love my LX Sport. Do you still have that 78 TC? I have two Continentals.
    Found your video trying to under a really bad alarm and keyless entry system install, and return a Marquis to stock. One wire somehow is going in my door...somewhere. One would assume the door lock button, but the way they spliced wiring was so ghetto. Still, if I was to think like a lazy person, it has to be somewhere easy to get to lol.
    Also, here a tip. Get in good with a local dealership, the parts department, and they can search the database, and you can find parts at any dealer. I found the little squares for the door handles for 4.03 bucks lol. I wanted door handes themselves (the ones with the chrome that seems to peel off. I dont do aftermarket though, unless its the only way, no junky yard parts, nothing...I tend to fix a part before I go aftermarket. Even the door lock actuators can be fixed.
    And a tip for the clinically OCD, you can try to reuse the boot, or use a piece of plastic or soft vinyl, cut a hole the diameter of the actuator plunger, and zip tie it, so water will flow over it. Make it long enough that it drips below the body of the actuator. I did that for my 73 TC. You cant find those. I had to make one good one from about 4 bad ones.
    Cheers

    Question that has nothing to do with actuators…I drifted the other day right when there was a break in the light rain ( not on purpose) but the tread looks great per my mechanic..he said it’s a rear wheel with lots of torque and to try a road gripping type tire..these are Bridgestone , not cheap.. but you have any 18” tires you recommend? The drifting was very fun I have to admit 😁

    great content . i do some vids about tuning marauders . i have this issue with driver door actuator being stuck. also can't manually lock and unlock either. its stuck unlocked. Would this also be an actuator issue ?

      Thanks for the comment!
      In your case, it could be a seized actuator which is locking up the mechanism or part of the linkage thats seized. I'd say definitely avoid trying to lock it since if it gets suck in the locked position, it'll be a bad day.
      Best thing you can do is pull the door panel, pull back the vapor shield and see what's going on with the linkage and actuator.

    Just got a 03 marauder passed down from family from originally sale. Well the engine was replaced in 2016 so how do I program my keyless entry code? I can’t even find the original code but would it work anyway? Ugh 😩

    • @ctuan13
      @ctuan13  Před 3 lety +1

      Wow well you’ve got a great family heirloom passed down to you! So even if the engine was replaced, that shouldn’t have impacted the keyless entry code, as that is stored on the module in the door. Other than paying a dealer an exorbitant fee to scan for the code, you can find the code on a sticker affixed to the module behind the driver’s door panel.
      So basically follow this video and once you have the door panel off, look for a module towards the front of the door and there should be a sticker with a code on it.

    Hey, would you think this can apply to any of the rear door's actuators as well? My passenger rear door's lock I can hear the actuator moving the motor loudly but it doesn't lock or unlock so I have to manually lock/unlock it. I have an 03 Grand Marquis I bought this week.

    • @ctuan13
      @ctuan13  Před 2 lety

      Yup! Should be exactly the same situation back there, only difference will slightly fewer fasteners. There are lots of videos on crown vic rear door panel removal, so I'd reference one of those if you're not familiar with the process.
      Thanks for watching! Hope this helps!

      @@ctuan13 I noticed the linkage looks detachable, would I be able to use any year actuator for any year car? There's a 30 dollar difference between the two generations, and I could reuse the brackets and linkages. 2010 CVPI

      It is an issue these vehicles can have, but I haven't had to deal with this issue yet. I'm far more likely to have to replace the O-rings on the climate control module. But for now, everything is still functioning okay.
