I’m not sure why they’ve done latitudinal seating when the line is meant to deal with airport passengers with suitcases, because it looks like the alstom metropolis trains would be better suited to that sort of traffic, not to mention easier maintenance due to fleet commonality. But the government apparently knows best…
The new ones look like a pain with the seating to be honest! The idea at the moment is most people stand in the middle holding on. At least I don't worry about trying to sit down unless its not peak hour. That way there is more room around the doors to squish in and get people to move down the aisles!!!
