Radiance of the Seas Cruise to Mexico: Embarkation Day 1, Sailing out of Tampa

- We are Ron and Tammy of Weinke World Adventures, and in this video we take you along on our embarkation day on the Radiance of the Seas cruise ship! This was our FIRST Royal Caribbean cruise, and also our first time sailing out of Tampa, Florida. We will show you where we parked, what it was like to board from the Port of Tampa, and what we encountered as we boarded. It was so fun to see the ship for the first time! We'll tell you about the muster drill, what we had to eat (lots!) and of course, the Sail-Away Party and views of leaving Tampa- St. Pete.

@@weinkeworldadventures today we are having all types of weather…rain, snow, sun and up to 40 mph winds. Snow melts right away as it is around 40 degrees. Hopefully it warms up soon as camp opens mid May. Anxious to stay at our seasonal site. I hope you and Ron are well. 💛
It sounds like winter has made a little bit of a reoccurrence up there. At least the snow melts quickly. I hope it warms up soon for you too! At least the middle of May isn’t far off, and soon you will be enjoying camping at your seasonal site again. I am starting to look at some places we can camp at later this summer. We are doing pretty well. I am hanging in there and will need to have a surgery in a couple of weeks. (Hysterectomy) But all will be fine. ❤️🙏 Thanks for asking. 🤗
Great vlog. I did not know you were vegetarian. I eat meat but could take it or leave it. If my husband had his way he would eat steak every night.
Thanks, Carol! Yes, we try to eat plant based and avoid all meat and dairy products. However, on cruises, we tend to lean more vegetarian as we like to have some treats, including ice cream! And of course, cheesecake. We used to be big meat eaters, too, so I know how, your husband feels. We did it for health reasons, so it has helped quite a bit overall.
Hi, Weinkes'! I have been very interested in Radiance as we loved the Jewel. Sad that it's moving to Alaska! I was also going to tease Ron for his lanyard and say I also didn't realize you were Vegan. Glad those options were good. Yes Ron, I like to get shrimp cocktail and cheesecake on Welcome Aboard night! What were your ports or is that in an upcoming video? You know I'll be watching! 😉👏
Hi Lorra! This was actually our first Royal Caribbean cruise, and we were really impressed. It was nice to have some plant-based/ vegan and vegetarian options to pick from! We do allow ourselves to have dairy and shrimp/ fish occasionally as well when we are on cruises. But not at home. 😂
Ron just loves that MSC lanyard! I was teasing him and telling him people were going to notice. It was strange, as no one who worked on the ship brought it up. 🧐
I heard that Radiance is headed to Alaska for the summer. I wonder if she will be back to the Caribbean next fall? We will have to try the Jewel as well! So many ships we want to try! 🤗

What has been your favorite Florida cruise port?
That’s a hard one! I would have to say Miami, just because the sail away is so awesome with getting to see Miami Beach, the city skyline, and everything. Port Canaveral is also another close second! Much easier to get into there, and closer to our homebase. But we haven’t had a port that we didn’t like! Tampa is nice and small and easy to navigate. Fort Lauderdale was very nice as well! Do you have a favorite at all? 🛳️
@@weinkeworldadventures I live pretty close to both Tampa and Port Canaveral so those would be my favorites if I want an easy drive. I don’t like driving to either Fort Lauderdale or Miami but lately I’ve been taking the Brightline from Orlando to those two ports. If I know I’ll be staying a few extra days, then Miami is my favorite because I like Miami. I guess you’re right; it’s hard to decide. 😎 It’s nice having choices though.
Yes, it certainly is nice having choices! I know what you mean about driving, and it is nice to be close to ports. We have not tried the Brightline yet! We will have to do that next time we have a cruise in Miami. ❤️🛳️
