This looks different as Bhagwan Shri Adi Shankaracharya ( he is the first Acharyars of all) said very clearly one should never see differently about shiva and Vishnu. We should never judge or conclude who is first or superior, He himself wrote so many hymns, slokas about shiva, devi and Vishnu.
As per our shastras Lord Ganesh is the first God hence what ever we do we first pray to Ganesh ji, this is the universal fact.
Lord Ram, built shiv temple ( Rameswaram)
Pls read Nirvana ashtakam written by Adishankara then one can understand about Lord Shiva, he is not neither born and never dies.. that’s why he is called mahakalan.
We should never compare who is superior shiva, Vishnu or brahma or devi.
From parabrahma, mumoorthikal formed along with their families and thus we should see them equal.
We cannot see which eye is superior or which hand or legs are superior .in
Bhagavadgita lord Vishnu is first god, in shiva puranas is shiva first and in devi purana, devi is first. Our duty is to understand them and their purposes and the purposes of our birth we should understand this without comparison and follow them wherever it’s applicable and follows.
    That’s the beauty of mankind.
Above all our great great Bhagwan Shree Adi Shankaracharya has built 4 mutts, in Agand Bharat, he formed 2 for shiva, 2 for Vishnu so how do we see to think his action .
    Please explain

Dear Kalpanaganesan, first of all thank you, for you are interested in this subject matter & thank you for your questions.
All the points in the lecture spoken from Bhagavd-git & Srimad Bhagavtam. not our opinion.
Bhagavd-gita accepted by all the great Acharyas including Adi Shankaracharya.
In Bhagavd-gita Many verses establishes Lord Krishna as Supreme Lord. (example 7.7, 10.2, 10.8, 10.12-13... etc)
Comparission is not done by us it is there in the sastra. I hope that you accecpted Śaṅkarācārya as authority because he speaks from sastra.
that means he should not contradicting to the sastra. But he twisted the teachings of satra, because that was the duty given to him. why did he do that? because befor him Lord Buddha appeared, and rejected the Vedas, because that time people were engaged very much in killing animals in the name of sacrifce & in the name of Vedas. So to stop that and again bring the vedas he has to twist the techings, otherwise people were not ready to accept the vedas.
Even though Lord Śiva appeared in the form of Śaṅkarācārya to preach Māyāvāda philosophy,
at the end of his pastimes as Śaṅkarācārya he preached the Vaiṣṇava philosophy: bhaja govindaṁ bhaja govindaṁ bhaja govindaṁ mūḍha-mate.
He stressed worshiping Lord Kṛṣṇa, or Govinda, three times in this verse and especially warned his followers that they could not possibly achieve deliverance, or mukti,
simply by word jugglery and grammatical puzzles. If one is actually serious to attain mukti, he must worship Lord Kṛṣṇa. That is Śrīpāda Śaṅkarācārya's last instruction.
Yes in Rameswaram Lord Rama worshiped to glorify Lord Siva because Lord Rama was acting as Ksatriya King, Sastra says King before crossing the Ocean should worship Lord Siva,
So Lord Rama followed that, to be an example for others to obey the sastric rules. It is like Krishna was driving the chariot of Arjuna in Kuruksetra, that doesn't mean Krishna is subordinate to Arjuna, That shows How much Krishna loves His devotee.
Anyway, It's very big topic, difficult disscuss here everything.
if you are more interested we have wonderful book is Called "Who is Supreme" it is available English, Tamil, Hindi.
We also Bhagavd-gita As iT IS. and many other books.
also if possible visit our Temple we can disscuss personally.
we have every Sunday 7am to 9am then 6.pm to 8pm Satsanga prog for everyone. you are welcome.
      Again Thank you. Hare Krishna.
