She may seem a little shy but I don't think she's introvert. This kind of impression can result from her lifestyle as professional tennis player. Just think for a while how her life looked especially as an teenager. Instead spending time with friends she had to practice a lot, and tennis is a individual game. For me she seems highly empathetic and open to people. She enjoys spending time with media, fans. It's easy to say for you when you are living in safe place unlike her where there is war right behind her border or inside you country if you are Ukrainian. Many serious companies move out businesses from Russian even though tens of thousands of people lost their job (e.g. Leroy Merlin was hiring 45 000 people across the Russia). The idea of banning its not to punish specific person, the typical Russian is not aware that he's living in country that attacked another country, but if he won't see his favourite team/person in TV in sport event than he'll start asking himself why did it happen. The idea of banning from sport events is to put pressure on Russians/Belarusians because they more likely will protest against the war and stop whole thing.
Beside that I can't imagine that Ukrainian would like to play against Russian. Even though she can like her Russian opponent, in context of ongoing war she would be hated in her own country for playing against Russian.
