#filmphotography #filmcameras #kodakm35 - Krátké a kreslené filmy
The most interesting thing about this video IMO is how the scenes just look like random and rather boring objects on video, with the digital camera. Yet they become nostalgic looking and far more interesting in the film photo, especially at the fair. I figure it's because those of us over 40 connect with images like that since we grew up with them. Great video.
Thank You
That looks like a fairly pocketable cam. Also, surprised at how vibrant the shots were for a plastic lens. Im with you and really liked the vinette.
Vignetting FTW!
Love these types of cameras, really cool to see video and images of the fair and they came out great!
Thanks Molly - I was pleasantly surprised by this camera.
I was impressed by the vignetting. Life is not perfect. There sunny days, cloudy days, warm days, cold days etc. There are happy days, sad days, lonely days, painful days and so on. Use film to capture those emotions and realities.
For those pretentious glamour, rainbows, lollipop and bubblegum my life is perfect days, use digital to preserve those commercial moments of your life.
Truth.
That camera performed much better than I expected it would! Great episode! ✌️
Thanks - I was pleasantly surprised by the results.
Sounds like a fun little camera, Dave! Take care and enjoy the holiday weekend!!
Thanks - Have a good one!
You got some really neat compositions, and im surprised at how rich the colours were!
Looks like a fun little camera, thanks for the review!
Thanks Pete - I really enjoyed shooting this one!
Your images seemed like a perfect example of a "taken in the past image". Sort of please enjoy this lovely shot of a 2022 Mustang that I clearly took back in 1987. Its hard to find cameras that output that look. Most go right into the grungy, lofi category.
Yeah, I dig this look.
I like the colors of Kodak film.
Got this camera for a friend before she left for a trip. She had fun using it. So I can't wait to see the pictures she took. Really cool review.
Thanks - It really is a fun camera.
Beautiful
Nice pica, as always. Camera reminds me back when Kodak partnered with Vivitar tp produce KV models. I bought a few of them when they were getting away from film. Came packaged with 2 rolls of film - Walmart sold these for $5 each. KV250, 28mm lens - might even have 2(!) elements.
Thanks - Sounds like a pretty good deal for $5
3:24 i just have to point this out, that's where they shot that one particular scene in the John Carpenter movie "In The Mouth of Madness" 1994
Nice shots! That State Fair is kinda spooky with no one there.
Thanks - Got there before the midway opened
Looks a fun little camera - with a plastic lens it was never going to be the sharpest tool in box (camera bag) but it did ok, it suited the fairground subject matter well with a nice retro feel. Being on the other side of the Atlantic, what the hell are Funnel Cakes and Elephant Ears?
Haha - Funnel cakes and elephant ears are basically different combinations of sugar and fried dough (AKA ticket to an early grave)…
I bought one of these impulsively so now im going to have to make it work 😂. Thanks for the video!
Enjoy your new camera - Thanks for watching!
We need that “Wacky Shack” sign outside our house! 🤣
Truth.
There were some very nice shots on that roll.
If I were to buy a Kodak M35 in Denmark it would cost me $40 at the current exchange rate - still, it's cheaper than the Kodak Ultra F9, that costs about $74 here in Denmark.
In this economy I think, I'll stick to the cameras I already have for now - maybe combined with some digicam shooting for some low resolution digital photography.
Yeah, those prices are pretty steep. I can’t complain about getting mine for $9.50 on eBay.
But thank you for your review. Hope you make a review of Kodak Ultra F9
I’m too cheap to pay full retail for the F9 - I got the M35 for $9.50 on eBay
Wonderful shots! I keep talking myself out of this point n shoot… maybe I should stop talking myself out of it. 🙃
Thanks Christina! I liked this camera a lot more than I thought I would. You may want to look at eBay - I scored mine for $9.50
@@theoldcameraguy sweet thanks!
Love these results! But definitely not for me, I have the RETO UWS, that’s enough for me!
I shot my Vivitar UWS for the wide angle Embrace the Grain challenge last month - I’m editing the pics today.
Fun little camera. Pretty serious chromatic aberration with that one-element plastic lens. "Craptastic" hahahaha!
Craptastic = Right up my alley
I've bought one and the button isn't triggering the shutter to open, I haven't loaded film yet, but should the button open the shutter even without film in it? I don't want to waste film if the camera is faulty
Open up the back - underneath the viewfinder is a little gear wheel. Rotate that to the right until it clicks. That will cock your shutter. Now if you push the shutter button, it should work.
nice! :)
Thanks Sina!
Stealthy yellow for candid street shots 😊 Where are the fairground’s throngs of people? Vignetting particularly on the left of frames. Every Holga is different, is the same true here? -Andrew
There may be some variability, unit to unit. I took these shots before the midway was officially open
Dude, does the m35 and or m38 prints the date on the photo when u develope the film roll?
No, neither one does that.
@@theoldcameraguy which retro style point and shoot cameras would u suggest with that advantage ?
@paneujun5067 None of the new models have this - only the older used ones do.
Is there a difference between the M35 and M38?
The M38 has a more powerful flash and is a bit heavier/sturdier. Lens appears to be the same.
It looks like a lot of fun, but I have so many craptasic cameras I will probably pass on it!!!
Yeah, I’ve got a few myself haha.
I still feel too dumb to use it … how do I know how far to wind after a shot? What does the symbols at the top window mean, like „S“ and dot?
After you load, press the shutter button and wind until 1 appears in the top window. You may have to press the button and wind a few times to get to “1”.
@@theoldcameraguy thank you, it worked ☺and it seems to lock so I cannot wind too far which I was afraid of.
I bought my girlfriend one of these to try and get her into photography, she's really liking it. Only bummer, the rewind jammed on the first roll. I am hoping that was a fluke.
Yeah, hopefully that won’t happen again - It’s a fun little camera.
I've read some reviews saying that this camera won't last more than 2 weeks! I won't buy this
A couple months in, mine’s still plugging along
