The fact that Lauren is still stylish says a lot. We can still make ourselves beautiful and still taking care of the environment.

Lauren’s body language is that of a leader. She could convince an Eskimo to buy ice from her.

I think disposable plastic is mostly a first-world problem. I grew up bringing a water bottle with me everyday because buying bottled water was seen as a waste of money when you can sort of get drinking water for free from your own home. I also grew up using metal/glass lunch boxes for takeout because serving freshly cooked hot dishes in plastic can be toxic and restaurants charge extra for takeout packagings. Most people from my town buy fresh produce from the farmer's market and bring their own 'veggie baskets' as we call it. Moreover, plastic shopping bags are also banned in my state for more than 10 years already.

This REALLY makes me want to go zero-waste! But I am extremely intimidated, just like Lucie was. Lauren mentioned she started small, does she have a beginners guide?? I'd love to get the process started!

There are a few different beginners guide videos but I'm not sure. You'd probably have to look through her blog. That said I can link you to what I watched (I'm starting to go zero waste).
      - This is a two part series: czcams.com/video/Y2cAGWr7tts/video.html
      - czcams.com/video/gz3Z7vnxr3o/video.html
I also started watching a youtube channel called Shelbizleee and she has videos on basically any kind of specific situation you might not be sure about how to stop producing waste in such as phone cases or pets.
      Good luck!

You don’t need to transit all at once. Start with trying to buy less and saying “no” to EVERYTHING you don’t need. Like a straw or plastic utensils with your takeaway. Then you can invest on things that would replace single-use or disposable items. Like table cloth for paper towel, reusable water bottle for bottled water, tote bag for plastic grocery bags, menstruated cup for pads or tampons, or reusable facial wipes for disposable ones. Then you think of all the expendable stuff that are packaged in plastic, and see if there is any non-plastic options there for you. Like instead of laundry liquid that comes in plastic bottles, maybe laundry poweder in a cardboard box is better, use naked bar soap and solid shampoo and conditioner instead of bottled stuff etc. After that for items that are not disposable or single use but needed to be replace because they are broken, google a zero waste version of that item. For example, when you need to get rid of your old plastic toothbrush, you may google and find out that bamboo toothbrush is avaliable. So you buy that instead of going back to the old option.

I’m really just focusing on reducing right now so I swapped my bin for a a recycling bin only and my waste hangs from my door in an old plastic bag so i guess I really think a bit more careful before throwing away and it’s kinda staring me in the face more.

I’m curious with the fast fashion industry if her clothing in the shop and what she buys is fair trade, organic and sustainable or from a thrift store? Does anyone know? Thank you.

Sveva actually, eatting less meat has a huge impact. Animals need a lot of land to raise them and we need to grow crops to feed them. All these resources and energy shrinks down to ur steak! But if we ate just the crops ourselves then it's a lot less energy and resources wasted.

She’s not just plastic free for emissions reasons - it’s to stop plastic entering the environment and causing damage to, amongst other things, animals. Whilst the fishing industry causes huge plastic pollution, it’s still really important that she’s not using plastic. And if she’s not using plastic she’s probably doing more than you!
