  • This is another splendid London walk around The City but this time the Western part.
Joolz visits the Bank of England, Mansion House (where the Lord Mayor of London lives), The Temple of Mithras, The London Stone, Watling Street (Featuring Queen Boudicca), The Mummy of Jimmy Garlick, The Vintners Hall, Dick Whittington and a street with such a rude name that it had to be changed.

My 7 year-old daughter did a ‘show and tell’ at school earlier this year about the Great Fire of London and explained to her class why Sir Christopher Wren started the fire (and she also told them that Charles II didn’t want his statue on top of the Monument because he didn’t start the fire and he liked the song ‘we didn’t start the fire’). You are an inspiration, Joolz. Thank you.

But, she recommended Joolz tour videos as a great way to see so much more of London than we would have on a first trip. She was quite right. This way we will have a better idea of our what we want to see when we finally get to visit. They are loving London.

Similar in function to the London Stone in London, there is the Boston Stone (which marks the spot from which all milestones are measured) in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It was put in place 1737, but was used by a paint maker before that to grind pigments. Several milestones are still in place, as well.

Thanks for giving me a reason to dream of travel and smile! Always wanted to come to London and your videos make me want to do it even more now, and to see and learn about parts of it that most tourists don't take the time to see. Love your style, your humor, the way you present information, and how we get to see areas that aren't just the normal "touristy stuff" and we don't just hear the "same old-same old" facts about a place because of the entertaining style you have. Would LOVE to see you do a Vlog showing pictures of London after/during the War showing the destruction that was caused and seeing how those same areas in the pictures came back and look now with the old buildings rebuilt and/or new ones in their place (like how you did with the picture of the awnings at Electic Avenue in your "Rather Superb tour of Brixton" Vlog) and how London rebuilt itself to come back stronger. Keep the Vlogs coming!

FP stands, I believe, for Fire Point, also known as Fire Hydrant, the point where a hose is attached to fight a fire, located under a cover in the street or pavement, and the distance is how far it is from the marker. I haven't come across MP.
