Remember singing this every Stations of the Cross on Good Friday in the late sixties at my church in Blackfen Kent. Still one of my favorite songs. This is sung so lovely . Beautiful.

God this hymn is SO beautiful. I'm in tears now listening to it as it takes me back to my Catholic upbringing.
It's only recently that I found it was adapted by Pergolesi. I've loved his Stab at Mater for years.
It also reminds me so !much of Bach's St Misericordia.

Beautiful. Ironically enough as I was listening to you singing this piece I thought "Wow. I can listen to such beautiful singing with such a melancholy mood all day." Then I read some of the comments and thought 'How rude and thin some people think. Once again- such a beautiful presentation.
