I once walked into a Mid Eastern restaurant in Los Angeles by mistake. The owner said if I didn't like the food, I wouldn't have to pay for it. That was the first time I had saffron rice. It was amazing. Bright yellow gold in color. I told the owner how much I enjoyed my meal. The owner wouldn't let me pay. He said he was just happy to introduce Mid Eastern cuisine to me. That was over 30 years ago and I still remember that rice and owner.
Most of the most welcoming, kindest, and generous people I have met have been middle eastern, particularly in regards to food. They just get so much joy from sharing their food and their traditions, and if you are open to their generosity, it grows even more. I can never repay the wonderful meals they have given me, aside from further spreading that generosity and learning as much as I can about how to prepare that food for my family and others.
it is excellent rice
@@ghostgirl6970 ok you both are overcompensating now, we get it.
@@konkelkent ur so salty for what ?
@@ghostgirl6970 This was such a sweet and heartwarming thing to read. It really contrasts what people usually have to say- thank you for sharing this ❤️❤️
I was born and raised here, so I have to say Ali showed the quintessential everyday run of the mill food spots for most residents. It's super affordable, good quality, simple and always tasty. Glad you gave this a try along with the glitzy restaurants.
I loved seeing the more local side of Dubai. This really makes me want to visit!
I missed Dubai so much!!! Have been there twice. There's so much to do for everyone. People said there's no "culture", but you've shown in this video there's clearly history and architecture and rich food scenes as well. People need to get over their assumption of a country and be more open-minded in what it has to offer.
Always enjoy the content Mikey. Plan on watching more keep it up 💪
I loved the man showing you around in the beginning!! He seemed so sweet and happy to share his knowledge! I liked him a lot!
That was really wonderful to experience through your efforts. Thank you!
Wow this place is amazing and hummus and tea? Great combination for a afternoon snack
Before I get into this vid! Let me tell you thanks for uploading! I’m working the overnight shift counting my inventory as a Cheese Consultant! I’m truly thankful lol it’s the little things! Let’s just hope I don’t lose train of thought getting into the vid!
Hope all is well! Breathe Peace.
*Hmm! ♡ ♥️I love the colors of the delicacy you are having!! They look so yummy! I do Love it!*
Thank you for your tolerance, patience and celebration of cultures. Ive been a fan for over 8 years. Now I need something: prayers. My son took his own life a week ago. Pls pray for him.
Sincere condolences
so sorry to hear that! My deepest condolences
damn im sorry for your loss
Prayers and love. Everyone needs those things sometimes.🙏❤
Prayers!
The guide is so knowledgeble. Great explanation of things
It’s amazing that you do this for a living!!
Loved the spice market!! How cool!!
What a great guide for a great city.
And now I really want falafel. My friend in Seattle makes them perfectly. I miss her.
The inner city streets are immaculate. The food looked amazing. That hummus tray looked delicious! Cucumber water sounds very refreshing ?? The tea district .....wow!!
Thanks for showing the different corners of the Dubai, super fun and informative as usual~ :D
His eyes are always closed naturally 😄
That Pani Puri, looks sooooo tasty! I didn't know I had to have it whole for first time, it got messy pretty quick 😂
The amount of Saffron they put in that coffee would cost like $12 in Australia.
I love the videos but I'm wondering where Christine is?
You see her in the very beginning but then she hides from the camera
This was definitely a crazy video I love it!!
All the food looks 🔥😋. Never heard of saffron tea thanks for sharing
Those Kebabs at the end, looked amazing,
I love mikes guide hes so friendly
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! 💓💓
Nice to see you visiting other countries Mike👍
OMG! LOVE the food!👍 Soo yummy 😋😋😋
I’ve eaten Al Bait Al Qadeem as well and agree, that cucumber/watermelon water really hits your by surprise. But so incredibly refreshing. I ate there over 4 years ago now but I can still remember the flavour so clearly.
I love how Ali thinks that he is introducing Mikey to hummus and Mikey just acts like he has never had it before.
Yeah, he's being so humble. Man literally eat a whole jar of hummus from Costco once 😂
This is nostalgic to me i lived in dubai for 3 years! 🙂
3 years aint that long
@@AzmiMaulanaHamdani It's all relative
I think the reason why they spice up the camel meat so much is because camel notoriously have a gamey odor, it's an acquired taste and often to strong for those who isn't used to eat game meat
came here to post this, Camel is a working animal, it ain't exactly raised for meat and they're onery and long lived (compared to farm eat animals). It's tough and gamey and all heck, so eating one is mostly just a novelty in the modern era (and even back in ye aulde it would've been something you did to not waste meat when a camel inevitably died, not something regularly consumed)
So in essence for many nations it is kinda the equivalent to either deer, rabbit or other game animal?
@@JAF30 yeah pretty much yeah
All looks delicious👍
Trick of Pani Puri is you don't use spoon; eat with your hand in one go, and sip the spiced water remaining in your bowl between two Puris
Amazing Video Mike! Thanks for showing us some amazing street foods from Dubai, prefer these than the usual mcdonalds or korean bbq type videos.
greetings from Chile mikey thank you another night of entertainment ..... and craving for international food
Hey Mike!! ❤❤
Lol 6:50 that hand waving in the back
Btw so nostalgic seeing these streets in Dubai. Loved it ❤ the tour guide was nice but a bit talkative. Try Khalid Al Amiri or Peyman Al Awadhi to see local foods
In terms of food, Peyman would be the best.
Isn't talkative something you want in a tour guide?
@@sherryillk lolol yea but not when he's just dragging it out lol
@@halimasultan03 Eh, for those who are completely unfamiliar, he seemed to do a good job in describing things.
the tourguide is very good! kudos to that guy
Awesome. Thanks Mike
6:36 Don't worry man, I see you waving! 👋
Wow nice to know about saffron n tea 😊
I love spiced teas!!❤
What happened to Mike's ramen shop in NYC and kbbq in Houston?
Ramen shop is open I think
@@devilinside1396 what's it called?
@@baljeezy idk but im gonna guess its Hot Oil Inc.
I need answers
I hope his friends didn’t screw him over
I am positively a sucker for Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food, and if ever I go to Dubai, I'd have to go eat all the things like you do, Mike! I used to live in Houston, and was right nearby what they call the Mahatma Gandhi District, where all the awesome little Mom & Pop Indian/Middle Eastern/Mediterranean places are, and I miss that so much. Here in Dallas we're lacking in that in comparison, and I'm jonesing now.
Strange how Christine has become a non-factor lately
Probably she don't want to be in it anymore just an assumption either way let's just accept it as it is what it is.
Ayy she's still there as our invisible camera guy by our mans side 😌
Mike having a healthy meal !
I heard Ramen Wasabi.... please give them a try. They are how I fell in love with Ramen (spicy Miso!). The pork belly buns are the best thing I've ever eaten!
Tour guide: everything we eat is massive
Mikey: challenge accepted!
that wave from the car exiting the car park though
I'd love to go Dubai someday! I can't eat camel, shellfish, or pork, but I'd be glad to try their other foods!
Hello from Nicaragua Mikey
I had a few bites of camel as part of a wild-game shishkabob in Australia - it was very good and I would like the opportunity to eat it again!
I'm surprised that, given they are the No.1 pest in Australia, nobody has thought about capitalising on camel products.
It's so nice to see Indian food being loved over there
6:37. Somebody waved at you!😂😁
That all looked delicious, but especially the last place! Thank you for showing us around! :D
Omg pani puri 😍🤤
I would love to visit here some day. Love from Vietnam.
hello mike chan. we are present. thank you for sharing ♥️♥️👍👍🤗🤗
I can go for a good bowl of ramen right now I’m I the only one be up at 3am craving a bowl
Yo mikey! Just noticed that ring finger! Congratulations!!
Food looked DELICIOUS! Like too try a camel burger.
Safe Journey!
CHOLULA!!!
Mikey, what's happening with your restaurant?
you are wayyy to brave, Mikey
I went to Dubai too for 8 days couldn't try their cuisine since my girlfriend couldn't eat that. Had to eat Indian since we are Indians. I really want to try middle eastern food and maybe I would get the chance this year since I am planning to go with my friends this time .
Hi Mike! Love your videos but can you share the exact locations of the places you mentioned in the video please 😃
Yes I love Dubai and the Wonder has structures the food is good as well!
Mike 10l
Do you actually use athletic greens? It really does look like a good product. Worried I might not consume enough green in my diet. Much love.
NOOO Mikey!!! Panipuri is best when you eat with your hands 😍
Camel meat is super delicious! We love it in Somaliland. Camel meat to be can be more gamey but also very delicious and fatty. Its a taste on its own. I don't know how I can compare it. I am sure you would like Camel steak more. Please try a Camel steak or grilled Camel pieces. You definitely need someone to take you to the core Arab Dubai places peyman or Khalid all day!!!
Why is Christine non existent now lol. We only get a glimpse of her here and there. It’s a weird dynamic…
A few videos ago some people chose to say some pretty ridiculous and insulting things about her. She’s a self made, independent business owner and she doesn’t deserve that! I haven’t seen her in a single video since. I absolutely love her, her commentary, and the interaction.
Al Bait Al Qadeem was nice in its Interiors, Food and Service according to what I saw !!
Whats the Name of the Falafel, Sandwich, Sambusa Shop after U crossed the River Ferry ??
11:57 That Lassi Shop I think is the same 1 that's in Hyderabad, India because the Lassi Shop written was of same Design, Font and the Style of Menu I mean the Colours used, etc are similar or I think same as I had in Hyderabad, IND !! Indian Style Roadside Paani Puri was a Bomb Bruh !!
Need to try out Camel Burger when I will visit Dubai for sure !!
Saffron Testing is one of the main highlights of this video and also Al Ustad Kabab !!
I tried 🐪 burger when I was stationed in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 ! Pretty good!
Nice video Mikey
Cheers from San Diego California
Chicago has ramen? I gotta go back to visit. Lol
Like every city has ramen - doesn’t mean it’s good tho
You should collab with outdoor chief life taku and make your own catch and cook with him !!! Or deer meat for dinner in Florida !!!!
Yay I was the first here ❤️ I swear I love your videos
Awesome
Mike lowkey flexing his wedding ring❣️
I'm going to Dubai soon. What tour agency did you use?
Both Mark and Sonny have tried camel meat and loved it!
Camel meat is super scrumptious and delicious. If you ever go to Dubai, and you're not a vegetarian / vegan, please do try it. When I had it, it was not put into everything like these days, it was only available in spaces like Mandi and some biryanis. Now they have a lot of options, from burgers to sandwiches etc.
That sticky substance in soda is known as sugar
come to georgia the country our food is different and great
Hello Mike/Christine.. The uniqueness, Wow. Enjoy.. No TY on the camel 🐪 one tho.. ❤️🐞
Where is the human rights energy Miikey?
WOW! WOW! OH THIS IS DELICIOUS!
It’s cucumber and water…
😂😂😂
Wow .... That Pani Puri was too delicious .... I will be dreaming of having Pani Puri for a long time!
You were going to make a ramen video in Chicago suddenly you are in Dubai
Chicago sure has changed a lot
Here is an episode that features most of the tourist traps in one video. With the exception of the Lassi Shop, I wouldn't go inside most of them. Mike, you need a better guide in Dubai.
Oh cmon dont tell me its because there were many Pakistani featurings. Other vloggers have already looked into Indian Iraninan Lebanese Egyptian corners of Dubai so why not Mikey try Pakistani parts? You must already know very well that Dubai is a hotpot of cultures & hence all these nationalities contribute to the state culture. And Mikey guy isnt a fool. He's travelled the world and prolly has seen his fellow's videos so he must have taken this new route to explore the city so whats wrong in it? Either way imo it was a good video & the guide wasnt bad.
Every time a youtuber I follow comes to Chicago. I was their video and see that I just missed them.
*Spends 90% of the time in glitzy spots and chains in Dubai*
"The traditional parts (of Dubai) are what I love the most"
I love Mike that's the first thing I want to say that reaction to the cucumber water had me dying I know he's not over exaggerating on everything but cucumber water being amazing definitely threw me for a loop lol 💙 love from NC
Love u mike ,, BUT,,,, the editing is subpar(in the beginning ) ... thanks and love to u tho 🖤
I died the moment u said sambusa. It's samosa
Nope, they are called sambusa, although they are like a samosa. The English word samosa derives from Hindi word 'samosa' (Hindi: समोसा), traceable to the Middle Persian word sanbosag (سنبوسگ) 'triangular pastry'. Similar pastries are called sambusak in Arabic; Medieval Arabic recipe books sometimes spell it sambusaj.
In Central Asia they’re know as samsa.
Beautiful
Please visit NOBU in Dubai
When Mikey says something is hot... ITS EFFFING HOT AS HELLFIRES OF HELL!!
You are so blessed to travel the world.
In this episode Mikey is being a tourist for the most part and not a traveller.
Best Food Review Show Ever guy went to Egypt recently and they did a camel chunk roast... On my bucket list now. You got hosed!
Yeah it looked amazing
It seems like they all follow each other. Mark weins just had a few vids from Dubai.
Hahaha you going learn today!
