They are checking to see if he has a leg/hoof injury. He may have been limping or standing odd when they checked on him. They take them out and have them walk/trot to see if they are favoring any of their legs. If they do not want to put weight on one of their legs, that's a good sign there is a problem. (That's what lame means, not wanting to put weight on one or more legs.)
His clip clops were uneven, like he was putting extra weight on one of his front hooves. The first run through something popped out to the lower right side of the screen, maybe something that had been stuck in his shoe. All the other clip clops were perfectly even after that. Running him through the tunnel amplified the sound really well. Who knew it would be a good diagnostic tool?!
Saw this originally, and you tell by echo in the tunnel, after a run up, a lady pointed out that something came from his front hoof, I hadn’t seen that, but she was quite right, after that he seemed to run sound! Observant lady!
Their used to it there’s a man with three stripes does it every day! Anyway, think about it, these people are looking at about £ 20,000 of man horse, uniform, tack and training and that is just for the ceremonial side they are also armoured force personnel ready to push it up the enemy nose upon national request. One of many national treasures who do it for a limited time of their lives and are then forgotten!
It's probably one of two things....the horse is lame and they're looking to pinpoint where the problem is OR the horse is colicky and they're moving him to try and dislodge an obstruction in his intestinal tract. I am thinking it's the former as walking is a gentler way of moving things along in a horse's rather delicate digestive system. Colic is a common problem in horses and unfortunately also the most common killer of them.
It looks like a soundness check. If he is, or has been lame, movement on concrete will make any problems far more obvious than walking/trotting on dirt or grass. If he's sound (no lameness at all) on concrete, then he is not hurting at all. Maybe he's been a bit lame and they're just making sure he's fit for duty. Personally, I'm glad they're checking!
Looks like they’re walking him out to check if he’s lame as a couple of people have already said.
Looks like that could be the vet having a look if the horse has a problem.
Manco ou não, continua sendo um belíssimo cavalo ❤️🐎❤️🥰😍😘.
It's one thing to gaze at the horse, but quite another to gaze up at the Soldier. Rude. He is Not a Statue !! 🇬🇧
Prayers he's ok!!

Wow. Stunning views of the horse. They sure do get looked after so well.

checking if he is lame

1.26 two little kids standing in front of a large horse unattended? The 2 Guards don't seem to notice.
❤❤❤❤ What a beautiful horse

Short behind.

Trying to work him out so he will stay calm at his turn. Do this with our guys too if we need them to stand still for a bit.
