    Check Your Vehicle:
Ensure your truck is in good mechanical condition. Cold weather can exacerbate existing issues, so it's important that your vehicle is well-maintained.
Check the battery to ensure it's fully charged and in good condition. Cold temperatures can reduce battery efficiency.
Inspect the tires for proper inflation and sufficient tread depth. Consider switching to winter tires for better traction in snow and ice.
    Winterize Your Truck:
Use a winter-grade engine oil with a lower viscosity to ensure proper lubrication in cold temperatures.
Check the antifreeze/coolant levels and ensure the mixture is appropriate for sub-zero temperatures to prevent freezing.
Inspect and replace worn-out windshield wipers. Consider using winter wiper blades designed to prevent ice buildup.
Keep a supply of winter-grade windshield washer fluid that won't freeze in cold temperatures.
Consider installing a block heater to preheat the engine and improve cold starts.
    Pack Emergency Supplies:
Pack an emergency kit including items such as blankets, extra warm clothing, non-perishable food, water, a first aid kit, flashlight, batteries, a portable shovel, and a multipurpose tool.
Carry a portable jump starter in case your battery dies in cold weather.
Include items for vehicle maintenance such as tire chains, tire sealant, and a tire pressure gauge.
    Insulate Your Truck:
Use insulated window covers or thermal curtains to prevent heat loss through the windows.
Consider installing a camper shell or truck bed tent to provide additional insulation and protection from the elements.
Use foam or insulation boards to insulate the floor and walls of your truck bed.
    Stay Warm:
Pack appropriate cold-weather sleeping bags rated for below-zero temperatures.
Use insulating sleeping pads or mattresses to provide a barrier between you and the cold truck bed.
Dress in layers using moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers, and a waterproof outer shell to stay warm and dry.
    Ventilation:
Ensure proper ventilation in your truck to prevent condensation buildup, which can lead to moisture issues and make the interior feel colder.
Crack open a window slightly to allow fresh air circulation while sleeping.
Plan Your Route and Inform Others:
Check weather forecasts and road conditions before heading out.
Let someone know your planned route and expected return time in case of emergencies.
Consider bringing a GPS device or a satellite communicator for navigation and emergency communication in areas with poor cellular coverage.
    Practice Safe Camping:
Choose a safe and legal camping spot away from hazards such as avalanche zones, falling trees, and flood-prone areas.
Be mindful of wildlife activity and take precautions to prevent encounters.
By following these steps, you can prepare your truck for below-zero overnight camping and enjoy a safe and comfortable outdoor experience even in extreme cold conditions.

If your going to be doing boxes I would get yourself some bungee's for when you can't tie the doors back and a 30 inch piece of scaffolding tube and a lump hammer to persuade the doors to open and close, trust me, you will find them invaluable on boxes.
