Stay with the AT 81 , l can tell by the tread pattern on the new 82 rear, that it will never beat the traction over all different terrain that the 81 has. The 82 is also a harder compound, so it will wear out faster on hard terrain. I ride Southern California Desert with many conditions. I have tried more than a dozen tires and the AT 81 is the overall winner. It works everywhere when new and only loses in deep sand after it wears down.

I would 100% agree with you except for the fact I’ve now ridden the at82 also living in SoCal also riding varying train and I gotta say this tire other than my slight gripe with lateral traction is out performing an AT81! It’s definitely worth a try. My next ride that I haven’t posted yet I can 100% attest that this now worn tire outperformes an 81 on Sandy Hill climbs.

Nice. I have recently got Bridgestone E50 standards front and rear (not gummy). My God. No one runs these tyres and they are absolutely awesome. Check them out!

what would the durabilty of the 82 be like compared to an MX34? Not quite sure what the 82 is meant for

I’m not familiar or I should say I haven’t owned an MX 34, but MX motocross AT is all terrain I guess. I would believe it would wear better but it depends on what you’re doing. It’s set up for a soft intermediate terrain. Soft terrain, scoop side forward, intermediate to hard terrain flat blade forward. If you’re doing trail riding, it’s worth a try. The AT81/AT82 tires have been loved by GNCC racers. More so the rear tire than the front.
