- The New World combat code changes were expected by the devs to come with some early issues. But they stated that the new Slayer Script would allow them to fix issues much quicker and be able to detect them earlier. It seems like that was completely correct, with them even tackling many long-standing issues in a minor patch. Along with that, some of the new Artifacts, Venom, Tempest Fury and Phoenix, are seeing changes.

Phoenix nerf is a good way to approach it but imo warrants a name change :)

Borrowed Time Amulet name would be nice, or atleast the perk name. Another name would be Last Resort. This should been the stopwatch tbh.
Personally think it wasn't too bad before, 1 second was fine, 2 would have been too strong. I probably would have added a silence effect during the proc. So for the 1 second you're invulnerable you can't use abilities etc.
Now it's completely useless unless you use Entomb. In which case it's even more broken, IG players are happy I guess.
love to see such fast iterations (as a tech worker this is the norm and hopefully the new standard with their tech stack!) and feedback taken. Also, with a name like Slayer Script it's gonna be fun/metal to read these out each time haha.
5:58 banana bread is strength. Think you may have meant banana parfait which is for con. However on NWDB PTR banana parfait is showing up as +44 con. Roasted Rabbit with Seasoned Vegetables is showing as +48 con.
Increase Constitution by 44 for 40 minutes. Your health slowly recovers while under these effects. Guess it was a Bug

@@DukeSlothI got that impression too although making Roasted Rabbit 🐰 with seasoned vegetables would align well, especially if they change Artisan Roasted Rabbit recipe to match (currently at +40) so both artisan chef recipes are useful end game. Also has synergy with seasonal event + rabbits everywhere so makes end game con food very accessible.

Pretty bummed about the venom changes, bc I wanted to abuse it with bow...but will still work for a good bleed bow/spear build. Not gonna be my.primary anymore on season 5 though. Back to scorpion :)
No one will use legendary fish recipes anymore. The catch rate for legendary fish in 3star hot spots in full lucky water III, full luck pole, max bait and trophies is less than 5%. That coupled with the slow spawn times on hot spots means it would take one person nearly a day to get 3 specific legendry fish from a specific zone i.e. gnufish. There are two 3 star hotspots in CC and each has 10 fish... so a maximum of 20 fish from the spots per rotation. Assuming someone has max luck that would be 20..05 = 1 fish per rotation or 3 rounds to get 3 fish - if all the stars aligned. if the spots are contested - which they will be. It would take a day at least to get 3 gnufish. Why would anyone do that when the mats for 44 stat perk (bananas) are 20x easier to get than gnufish for 48 stat perk? The devs are clueless about cooking - none of the changes make any sense at all. They do nothing to add value to the game - they essentially left stuff the way it was but make fish the top tier, but made it so unachievable, no one will go for the 48 stat food - only the 44 stat food. In other words, they effectively killed fishing beyond its current near death stage. These guys should all be fired.
It's even simpler than that: Almost everyone will go for the 48 con food because that's still the non-fish recipe. Unless you specifically need super low con, no reason to use anything else.
I don't have completely maxed fishing luck (lucky waters II on chest and gloves instead of III), but I'm getting 1-3 legendary fish per 3 star hot spot. Slayer script sounds exciting for the future of New World.
I'm not a war player but Phoenix could be used for low con DPS assassins to eliminate back line healers, no?

Yeah, but gotta keep in mind those clips are old and that's old gear. Meta was more anti-phys skewed at the time, so I was experimenting. Nowadays I wouldn't run that.

Agreed. But they are doing it on purpose. Scot is using the excuse that they are "slowing things down" to help avoid releasing buggy patches, but I would prefer really fast buggy patches compared to really slow not buggy patches.

Absolutely ridiculous if Field Medic stays that way, assuming they're keeping the old pool as well it could easily take hundreds of PVP tracks if you're unlucky
I played this game at launch and bounced off after about two weeks, never even got to cap never finished the story or anything like that. I've wanted to return several times but never have because every time I look into the game I see some big overhaul is 'coming soon' so I put it off, would you say now is a good time to return and actually experience the game as a whole?
5:00 i just hope you proc the same amount of food when crafting. If you can only proc one extra per 3 bundle, then cooking got a substantial nerf

Bruh. Phoenix sounded good at 1sec invulnerability. People calling it OP, but it has a 3 minute cooldown! If you're in Arena you MIGHT be able to proc it twice at most. Oh well I guess. Glad for the quick fixes though and improvement on AGS side.
FS/Bow would always give me weird animation glitches.
This game is still around. Just looked, 19k players at peak the last 30 days, an all time low.

Hah. I was _this_ close to suggesting Phoenix should kill you ultimately as a comment on your last video about it but thought I'd just get ignored (and, ultimately, didn't think AGS would do that). But here they are :D It makes it like the Deep Rock Galactic "last chance" thing. Giving you time to do one last fight saving thing before you die. It's a shame it's only 4s as I think that's not long enough to revive in PVE. I think it should be 8s in PVE and 4s in PVP. Still... waaaay better than what it was. And unique enough to be interesting.
The problem with legendary fish isn't just that it's rare, it's the limitation per server, per day. You really can only get them from 3 stars and those are finite with huge., HUGE CD timers on them (up to 90 mins, which is nuts). This ultimately limits the entire server to a fixed number of meals per day, which is vastly dwarfed by the server's demand. No other food requires more time to get than it takes to consume the final result. And this achieves that given the server's hotspots will ultimately be permanently down.
I have a dumb question. If Venom works on heavy attacks. And the fastest heavy attacks are coming from void gauntlet.... maybe void blade heavy attacks would work well?
Nobody would ever use Venom with a void gauntlet since there's zero attribute cross over, so even if venom worked well on void blade, the whole point would be moot. Yes, I know you can use an elemental conversion gem, but at a huge reduction to damage.

Fishing..if you are using outfit/best pole etc ...use ONLY one trophy.

Season 5 is irrelevant. Nothing will really change and pvp will keep being the same. This game needs a real miracle for Juni because pvp has not reason of be right now.

The heavy attack perks on Venom is for coup de grace. It clearly wasn't intended for normal spear heavy attacks.

I would like to play but there’s just nothing to do for long term players. This games pretty much only good for new players currently.

At this point AGS has proven without doubt that they cannot be trusted to make good/fun Artifacts. They could just lock in the defining perk(s) and let players choose the rest. Artifacts are supposed to be epic/iconic and most importantly FUN. New World is a game. Fun should be first. AGS does not know what is best for all players builds and play styles.

No facts, just your opinion. My suggestion is: Rather then AGS choosing the locked in perks and only giving players one perk choice, give players the freedom to chose all their own perks. This does not mean all players would choose the same perks. Each player can/will make their own choices based on their builds and preferences. Your interpretation of this is completely opposite of the point. Reading comprehension is a good skill that I suggest to practice regularly.@@moo8698

I appreciate that you enjoyed my video, but I don't like seeing other NW creators being bashed/compared in my comments at all. Everyone has their own preference when it comes to what they like to watch and especially going after someone's voice, something they're born with, seems extremely unfair. You can lift people up without needing to put others down!

In regards to all the combat fixes: A lot of these are new issues they created with the combat rework on the PTR. So while the list may look impressive, it's possible that 90% of the fixes are bugs they JUST created that aren't currently present on the live servers...to put this into perspective. For example, this is a bug they introduced on the PTR and then subsequently fixed: "Fixed an issue where weapon swap buffers would cancel dodge buffers."
True. But the amount of fix in a week is a lot more compared to past. We’ll have to see how they will fix future bugs but I did my own research on C++ vs Lua and it turns out C++ is in fact much better for mmo. So this is a good change.
NW has reached the 30days player count bottom line. Looks like AGS works hard to nail the coffin.
this patch should be released like a week after the expansion, I dont know whats the problem , low budget or whatever, still we get 0 pvp content, only goldfarmers and chestrunners play the game
As a mostly ranged player, I'm deeply disappointed in the Venom change. It was the only artifact I was really looking forward to in the new set, and having a backbar buff option that synergizes with one of the damage types I already deal (Nature, Thrust, Fire) instead of a random Rend/Void tick was exciting. The Venomous AoE Firestaff idea was a close second contender.
The amount of bug fixes in such a small window does give me hope for the Slayer Script, though. Credit where its due, that was a good amount of work already done with a much better turnaround time than AGS has historically had. Really hoping it continues in this vein going forward.
The game is still in shambles. S5 wont change ANYTHING. There is SO MUCH MESS in this game.
The change to Venom was so NOT needed... I mean who in their right minds would use heavy attacks all the time? And the DOT wasn't even that big to start with.
Lifetaker also applies rend and is way more offensive than Venom with a bow could be.
People may throw rocks at me for what I'm about to say, but players that mostly pvp are never satisfied with anything, they call for nerfs all the time and even when things are nerfed like they wanted, they still demand more.
Then people don't realize why the game is leaking players so much... it's a great game, with great potential, but a lot of players consider the fact of needing to change their builds all the time due to big nerfs a factor to abandon a mmorpg.
There were a couple of artifacts that got me interested to farm next season, but with all the nerfs people already demanded, I already gave up the will to farm for at least two of them, i'm not gonna waste time trying for something that's not gonna change anything substantial for me.
Artifacts are meant to stand out, to be "exotic", to be fun and give satisfaction to be used, but the amount of nerfs people demand, make them just another legendary item with an extra perk that most of the times it's not even that powerful or satisfying to use.

@@wavyhomeboy Yes I play if every now and then and honestly, if you allow yourself to get hit by a ranged player from far away, you're doing something very wrong since they need to account for protectile travel time and world falloff... if they shoot and you just step aside, they miss and cause no damage at all.
If ranged attacks were hitscan, then I would agree with you, but they're not.
The only times I've been killed by a ranged player I was either standing still for some reason or they were really close to me making me a big target for them.
If a ranged player is hitting you from far away all the time even if you move constantly, they're either hacking (aimbot) or using some sort of scrip to compensate the projectile physics and believe me, there are lots of people out there that probably do so.
Only range shitters that sit on a wall and never engage 1vX 1v1s or close-mid fights would not like the new Venom changes. That Melee-only change was DEFINITELY needed. Imagine having to deal with the average Bow/FS player in OPR camping base and constantly spamming free DoTs on you while you fighting multiple people outside of their base... yep, very healthy. Also if you are not constantly mixing heavies into light attacks on FS or Bow, YOU are doing something wrong buddy. I don't like when weapons/perks get a nerf as well but there are some things that shouldn't have existed in the first place in this game such as that perk on Venom and the free Defy Death to everyone on that Phoenix amulet

And I didn't say you shouldn't mix light and heavy attacks, I said that no person in sane mind would use heavy attacks ONLY to attack someone in pvp.
Also, OPR is a team effort, there are ranged players that stay far away doing their intended job (that you 1v1 hurr durr players complain so much doooh) and people that fight melee and since it's a group effort, it's a stupidity to keep 1v1'ing all the time, that's an invite to be ganked by other enemy players, because they don't just sit there and wait you finish your 1v1 to fulfill your ego.

RE Field Medic, I hope that they finally adding outstandingly good items that are very difficult to get (yes, not everyone will get one) because that's the problem with NW - game is boring when it comes to gear chase.

Omg phoenix is so crazy, I will win so many 1vX with this because in so many 1v2, 1v3 I can get them super low so I'll just go for it and let it proc, finish them off, and switch to hatchet to survive it. And even if I die that 4s gives me plenty of time to kill a few low players. It's just so stupid
Hatchet defy death doesn't help you survive phoenix. Only entomb does, and that will be fixed very quickly. I think the change makes phoenix pretty worthless for my solo OPR adventures. Will continue to use endless thirst.

@@planetg2125phoenix puts a 3 second dot on you that does like 30k damage the entire time. So it will proc defy death and then immediately kill you right afterwards.
