1. 1 Hear when I call, my righteous God!
From my distress, O give relief!
You hear me when I call out.
Show grace to me!
Turn to my pray’r
As night draws near beside me.
2. 2 You wicked men, you and your sons,
How long will you my glory shame?
How long will you seek falsehood?
How long will you
Love worthlessness?
Beware, for Yahweh loves me!
3. 3 Know that the LORD has set apart
The righteous man for His own use.
He hears me when I call out.
4 Now be disturbed
And do not sin:
In awe, be silent and rest.
4. 5 Right sacrifices offer Him,
And put your trust now in the LORD.
5 Many are those who now say,
“Who will show us
Goodness and life?
LORD, shine Your face upon us!”
5. 7 Into my heart You’ve put more joy
Than when their grain and wine abound.
8 In peace I lie down to sleep,
For You alone
Your servant keep,
You make me dwell in safety.
