I just got a vintage mini and I'm so glad I went with vintage vs new! It looks so much more classic and I can wear cross-body. The price doesn't hurt either :)

That yellow is stunning! Just bought a vintage in black and I'm so excited. This video was so informative. There are def pros and cons to each but after watching this I think I'm glad I got a vintage, as clearly it fits a little more though it was still too overstuffed imo (both were). I don't carry much anyway, it's one reason why I opted for a mini. :)
Love your yellow vintage mini!! I just bought a vintage in beige color and hopefully it's a good one. I like the old version because of the strap length for cross body wear.
Loved this video! I have two minis, and I chose vintage for both because of their larger size. I also like that vintage bags have better gold plating. On the downside, the leather is not puffy like newer bags. Love the cheery yellow color on yours!
I Juju thanks! Yes the newer ones get my vote for the looks/puffiness but definitely wish they had the capacity of the older bags!
Gosh it looks like their prices continue to skyrocket while they give us less. Smaller bag, less chain strap. The newer Chanel model came around the same time as smart phones were getting bigger. If our phones get any bigger, this bag won’t be an option for most people anymore. Great comparison video.

Very good video! I have the new mini square but seldom use it due to space constraints. Just bought a vintage mini and cannot wait to use it when it arrives! The 24k Gold plated hardware looks nicer in my opinion too. :)

Also, do you happen to know, what year did they stop doing the stitching on the flap? I think new ones don't have that nice stitching and I really like it! I'm on the market now for the square mini.

Do you know which year did the change happen? I mean when I am looking for a vintage mini what year should I be looking for?
I think it was around 2009 when the change happened from vintage square mini to the new style. Any year of vintage mini is pretty good IMO, though i do see the most common pre-owned bags are from the 4 series onwards.

Hi! It's a 12x series circa 2008-2009. This was the last year they used real gold plate one the hardware.

Condition seems reasonable good condition. It's not easy to find the vintage ones.. I prefer the 2.5" depth not too bulky, wider dimensions and, more structured boxy!

Mia S. Hi there! I definitely wouldn't get a new Mini there's a few factors I do not like about it
- boxier due to wider base
- leather attachment to chain
- shorter chain for crossbody
- softer overall structure
I am getting the Vintage one! But sourcing for a good one. Gonna keep forever 😌
I just dont dig the vintages ones, they always seem too much worn... the quilted have lost their bulky shape
I'm not sure the black mini is authentic, the stitching around the seam of the front flap isn't present on a real bag
