    A general tip that I have extracted from analysing my own gameplay is to move/wiggle less.
    What I mean by this is that you should try to avoid moving a lot when in ads and scanning for enemies.
    Most fps games require you to constantly wiggle, adad strafe and throw in the occasional crouch in order to avoid getting hit.
    In HLL you can actually blend in with your surroundings very well if you say sit in a hedge and look for enemys.
    A lot of the time I only spot enemy players because they're moving.
    Once I kind of unlearned what other games taught me and actually gotten comfortable with just standing still and be more patient in general I've gotten a lot more kills and in general have become a more effective player.
    HLL is not a fast game like others most fps players are used to.

    • @poepvlek7453
      @poepvlek7453 Pƙed rokem +2

      Yes! The slower gameplay is really something youbhave to get used to! Slower movement, a lot more crawling to certain positions. Like big craters or trenches in open fields. Sometimes I get tired of dying over and over again. But I really love how the game is so different. No other game has such big maps with such open fields or full forests. Only battlefield comes close, but that's still different, faster paced, and sniper campers everywhere. Even tho HLL is like camping a lot. It's all without scopes and a lot harder to snipe from far away.

    • @spankmymoomoo
      @spankmymoomoo Pƙed 10 měsĂci +1

      one exception i often see people making a mistake with is not moving erratically enough while running between cover from distant shots. people often only slightly change up their movement when a shot zips overhead and they're not in cover in order to get in cover slightly faster than I would. however, serpentining and generally acting out of your mind a little bit is slightly slower but MUCH harder to hit. when I played HLL much more often, i was known locally for prodigious smoke use and using approaches traditionally not as travelled cause of the lack of cover. with enough concealment and erratic enough movement, it opens up way more avenues than people would intuitively realise. however, switching from this erratic movement to the still surveying you talk about is a skill not many people choose to learn well haha
      sorry for replying to old comments :P

    Totally support the idea of "active defense". Don't just stay on the point, where they are coming for you and a bombing run can get all of you, but place an OP a little off, and go get their spawn points and their lines of approach. It's a massive win, and it's much entertaining for your squad if you are leading! Very good content, thanks!

    • @manhalen7046
      @manhalen7046 Pƙed rokem +2

      There are reasons why a rifle squad runs patrols out of a forward operating base (FOB) and/or combat outpost (COP).
      You dont just sit behind the effing wire and wait for the enemy to come to you.
      Just think of a boxer using his jab, it's the same thing.

    3:03 I gotta disagree with the bleeding time always being long, it depends on the caliber of the bullet you're hit with, because sometimes if you get shot by a low caliber bullet, then your bleeding time will be long but if you get shot 2 times then your bleeding time will decrease to about less than 10 seconds

      @BruderLoras Pƙed 2 lety +5

      While that's true, I've still found that continuing the fight while wounded is better than bandaging immediately most of the time. Yes, sometimes you'll bleed out. But very often, an enemy who landed a hit on you and didn't see you die will try to chuck a grenade at your cover, exposing themselves and allowing you to take them out.

  • @bung0o

    Another tip, when communicating enemy positions using your compass, try your best to avoid using your cardinal position. The cardinal position is the degrees between north south east and west. Example: Infantry 20 degrees north.
    The reason you should avoid this 80% of the time is due to the fact that your teammates will have a different cardinal position based on where they’re standing, so saying 20 degrees north could be entirely different for them. Sticking with a buddy or two in your squad is super effective for obv reasons but mainly for this reason, as your buddies will be able to pinpoint the enemy precisely off your cardinal coordinates

      Also, teamplay! And if you are with multiple people at a spot, don't stay together hugging each other, keep some space like 5-10m apart. So if they spot you, they don't kill all of you instantly. If you're lucky, they don't even notice there are more.

    Having a sense of self preservation is crucial in games like HLL, Squad, Squad 44, etc. Playing as if you have only one life is going to make the game 10 times more enjoyable, and you’ll find yourself playing much better than treating your in game character as a simple in game character

  • @bung0o
    @bung0o Pƙed 7 měsĂci

    Kinda falls in line with the silent flank but, there’s an old saying that goes along the lines of “ *A true marksman waits for the right shot* ”. If you see a bunch of infantry on your position, don’t go in for the shot right away. The best play to make more often than not is first pinging and relaying the info, ofc, BUT you want to somewhat stalk said infantry. Get a better position for your weapon’s best suitable range & then go in for the wipe. Worst case scenario, you get sniped from an unknown angle but you’ve obtained crucial info as a result. Best case scenario, you wipe the whole squad out, you destroy any OP/Garry, and you cut the enemy forces off of their supply drops.
    Also, friendly/enemy armor have designated weak points, more often than not being towards the back side of the vehicle. Hitting those weak points will take the vehicles down much quicker đŸ‘đŸ»

    I agree with all your tactics and I use many of them myself and have been doing it for some time.
    However there is one tactic that you did leave out that is also very important in the game and most people don't even use it because they think it's currently when it isn't. Sitting pruned in a spot is actually very effective for both you and your team and you'll generate a lot of kills because of it and you'll create a lot of confusion for the enemy. Just last night I was on a map where our garrison fell but I was laying prone in a spot and as the enemy tried to move through I kept shooting one after the other tell him my squad leader now is the time to get up to the point and put up a new Garrison. But sadly my squad leader ignored what I had suggested and we ended up losing the point anyway.
    Being prone is a valuable tactic that a lot of players just do not understand why it's there nor do they understand the level of concealment you get from a prone position. So I highly recommend a lot more players try using the prone position and you'll be amazed at how much your game will improve.

    Can you make a video for the air drops/strikes while in-game how to recognize what your enemy is doing? I m pretty new and lots of teammates including me dont know what is dropping from the planes. Nice videos out of my personal experience in combat i learned that using bushes and just sitting still in them while shooting enemies is really effective somehow its very hard to get spotted.

    • @gregggambolputty2884
      @gregggambolputty2884 Pƙed 2 lety +2

      I might help with that.
      Germans use a red parachute and have a torpedo shaped supply container. Allies have a package with a white parachute.
      Airheads look like a black box and have red parachutes. Check the map to see if it's your own.
      If the plane flies low it's a transport on an air drop mission.
      If the plane flies at a high altitude it's a bombing run. Check your map to see if it's your own and where it is to not run into it.
      Gebatron made a video on it: czcams.com/video/Way5O4abBq8/video.html
      He goes into more detail how you can recognize the planes aside from their markings, which can be tricky to spot depending on your viewing angle.

    • @gregggambolputty2884
      @gregggambolputty2884 Pƙed 2 lety +1

      I feel bad for talking for Terry but the answer is both.
      Offensive mode is simply rarer but he plays them and you can catch him doing so on his streams. I know, I've played Omaha offensive with him on defense.
      Patrolling the area around the Strongpoint is important in any mode. Ideally you'll want to intercept the opposing force and keep the fighting a good deal away from the hard cap. Part of it is that you'll probably have a garrison on the point itself and you don't want it locked and you should always want to try and find the enemy spawns, otherwise you will eventually be overrun. It's not because they have more bodies on the field (it's 50 vs 50 after all) but they will be coming from all sides pushing to one focal point. Besides, if you just stay on the point, they know where you are.
      You can get away with staying on the point longer on offensive compared to warfare because the cap pressure only applies on the point itself instead of the soft cap... plus the entire team is devoted to defense. But the advice to patrol outside the hard cap applies to offensive mode just as much.

    Redeployment should have bigger penalties minutes not seconds using it as a tactic to get advantages not intended in the game is taking away from the realism which is the core attraction of the game.

      Trust me the penalty is big enough them seconds take forever to countdown then u potential have to wait more for deploying at a proper spawn point

    Here’s a tip. Turn team markers off when behind walls. Much better for immersion.

    What are things you'd wish people wouldn't do? For instance
    -don't cower beside an enemy who is firing at friendlies. Seeing your icon makes teammates think they are safe from your angle.
    -don't offer advice to commander if your a lvl 30 rifleman. Play your role as best you can. No one cares that you played squad.
    -don't refer to squadmates as "boys." I'm a grown-assed man.
