Diff'rent Strokes is an American television sitcom, which aired on NBC from November 3, 1978, to May 4, 1985, and on ABC from September 27, 1985, to March 7, 1986. The series stars Gary Coleman and Todd Bridges as Arnold and Willis Jackson, respectively, who are two boys from Harlem taken in by a wealthy Park Avenue businessman and his daughter. Phillip Drummond (Conrad Bain) is a widower for whom their deceased mother previously worked; his daughter, Kimberly, is played by Dana Plato.
During the first season and the first half of the second season, Charlotte Rae also starred, as Mrs. Edna Garrett, the Drummonds' first housekeeper, who ultimately spun off into her own sitcom, The Facts of Life, as a housemother at the fictional Eastland School. The second housekeeper, Adelaide Brubaker, was played by Nedra Volz. The third housekeeper, Pearl Gallagher, was played by Mary Jo Catlett, first appearing as a recurring character, later becoming a main cast member.
What an awesome time in life.
My God the Nostalgia I'm feeling rn is almost unbearable....Oh how I wish to go back to these simpler times
I feel the same way so much of the time. The further and further away it becomes, the more it hurts.
EPMD Classic Hip-Hop 80's 👏👏👏
Erick and Parrish Making Dollars !
Damn, Sledgehammer and some EPMD love all within the first few minutes, this episode is killing it, talk about taking me back to the 80's.

And that EPMD hat- dope
Memories man thx, love the hat 🧢
Funny how they are tourists visiting from New York, but really, the Soundstage for the show is literally a mile away from their hotel on the backlot. They didn't go anywhere. Love it!
Beautiful! Good Stuff. Diff’rent Strokes Is My Favorite Show As Well. Gary Coleman Is My Hero RIP.
great job matey and i grew up as well watching the show in the UK
I loved this!! That’s my favorite show and episode(s) as well! I’m going there in 2 weeks! I never been to Universal Studios before! I was in LA in 2019 but didn’t get to go to US. I’m excited to go!
You are a true class act! One of if not the best on CZcams keep up the great work!!!
Great editing again ❤
Thanks buddy!
I didn't expect the commercials 😎
05:44 The Cinerama Dome brings back great memories! I saw The Wiz and Back to the future there. Those were the days!
These Episodes, the Muhammad Ali & The Ghostbusters episodes are classics.Great Job.
Good show from the 80s my favorite cheers perfect strangers sledge hammer married with children Alf 😊
wow good work
I stayed at that Sheraton last spring! was one of my favorite shows in the 80’s use to love watching it after school before dinner on KTLA or KCOP I believe.
KCOP had the reruns beginning in 1984, and they later moved to KCAL by 1990.
I used to think sit coms took place in their actual cities. I swore that Arnold and Willis lived in NYC. I am still convinced that the Cheers cast is chilling in Boston somewhere.
Kudos on the EPMD hat. “You’re a customer.”👍🏽
Awesome! Rad video dude :)
We loved this one! One of my favorite episodes too! Oh, Sledgehammer too haha Did you know that Danny Elfman did the theme song for that show? Loved it!
5:06 Sam managed to be in Mac and Me ,followed by Terminator 2...That's a big step....... "Pretty Nice"
Great video!
Visited Universal Studios in early August 1982....on the tram tour and guess who is casualy walking by.........Conrad Bain. I thought I saw Elvis!!🤣
I remember getting on Kitt at Universal Studios during the 80’s. Howerd the Duck was a featured film during that time. 😎👍
Willis and Kimberly was low key looking for rocks lol
It's terrible that so many buildings in that area are being razed. Big money buys them & then they're gone. Picture's & video are the best saving source we have now.
I used to love DS as a kid. Thanks for doing this episode. A couple of cool suggestions if you don't mind would be the original 1983 mini series of V, don't think anyone has done that. Also what about the video to "I Love LA" by Randy Newman. They would be great ones imo.
EPMD my favorite rap duo of all times
great video omg love Sledge hammer
Great video! Before KUNG-FU PANDA was SHREK 4D, it was THE FLINTSTONES. before that, it was STAR TREK.
Would love to see more TV episode retrospectives covering Uni Hollywood episodes including : OUT OF THIS WORLD : "Evie Goes To Hollywood " (1987) , THE A-Team : "Steel" , Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew : "Mystery of the Hollywood Phantom" (1977) , KNIGHT RIDER: "Fright Knight" (1986) , COLUMBO "Fade into Murder" (1976) , and many more.
Gary Coleman was an old client of our company's. I shit you not. When he lived in Santaquin, Utah. I did an inspection for mice for him. (Pest Control. Stay in school kids!) He actually had a train set up and a conductors hat in his living room. SERIOUSLY!!!
People always said he was a dick. He just reminded me of my brother. He was alright. Our company did fire him though. He'd always call up wanting a service that had to be a certain time and he'd never show up.
Funniest episode of the series was the bike shop episode. I know it was supposed to have a message but I founds it hilarious
I remember there were 2 kidnapping different strokes episode, the one with Kimberly and Arnold getting duct tape from the creep,, and Dudley in the bathtub at the bicycle shop,,, those episodes taught me a lot about stranger danger as a kid,,
What amazes me most is that the actor who played Sam got in Terminator part two as Eddie Furlong’s friend & later on he was cast in Nickelodeon’s “Hey Dude”, if my memory serves me right about that?
Is that Budnick from Salute your Shorts!!!!
Yes
Another great video.
Sam was in Terminator 2.
Everything looked better back then.
I liked the Episode when Arnold and Willis went to the bike shop and got mongoose BMX bikes 👍🏻
The open-air soundstage might have once been the Airport 77 screen test. I remember getting called on stage when I went there alone once.
Wow. Can't wait to. Watch this... Bro. You a Moving on Up.... We goin to New York... Whatchu talking about 80s Life ....?????
I remember that episode as if I saw it yesterday. I believe I've seen it at least six times. Universal Studios has changed so dramatically. I was there about 6 years ago and the only thing I really enjoyed were the nachos in Simpsons Land. The tram tour was just ok and I really don't care much about the themed rides. What happened to the days when the tram stopped and you could get off and tour an active sound set? What happened to the Miami Vice, cowboy, and A Team stunt shows? Gone but not forgotten.
Love your videos Kurt! Consider an “Armed and Dangerous” filming locations. Thank you!
Kurt, I love your videos. Can you please do an episode about the opening credits for three's company when they all are goofing around at the LA Zoo? It would be amazing to see those locations now!
The good ol' Texaco building...
Yeah more that tv shows please
It's UCS for you. It's UCS for me. It's UCS for all of us!
Great show, Great work all always my overseas friend.
That music ? Public Enemy sampled in harder than you think. Shirley Bassey's Jezahel. I,ve just done a VISION Psycho stick build on my channel if you get time to check it out. Keep up the great and hard work putting these together. Have a great weekend
I took a picture of jaws when we went to universal studios back when they were filming Jurassic park 3 we went on the tour and the tour guide said be very quiet that they are filming a movie we all had lots of fun.
Immediately goes to check out Sledge Hammer
@7:00 this is off the subject but the bridge to that song thats playing is fire.
My prom was there too! 😂
12:25 A wild Adam the Woo appears!
You should do a filming locations for the 1980’s episodes of “AirWolf” starring casting by Michael Jan Vincent, Jean Bruce Scott, and Ernest Borgnine, along with Alex Cord, !!!!!
The Drummond penthouse is at 900 Park Ave. except that building doesn't have 2 story penthouses. It's a rather unspectacular building, no outdoor space or rooftop deck, the largest unit is a 1,200 sf 2 bedroom and goes for $2.4 million. I always wanted to live in that penthouse until I found out it wasn't real.
The Jefferson's building is at 185 E. 85th and the main entrance is called Jefferson's Drive. They have 3 bedroom suites about 1,200 sf, no sellers but they rent at about $5,200 a month and have no central air conditioning. I don't think I would live in New York, tv makes it look better than it really is.
Telly Savalas lived in the hotel. First Lady Nancy Reagan appeared on the show, I talked to Todd Bridges about it on Twitter, and he said there were alot of Secret Service agents
Janet Jackson’s appearance as Willis’s girlfriend was my first T.V. crush.
You forgot to include when Jaws got a pie in the face lol
Note : The Blues Mobile during the pie fight
Danny cooksie as sam. Went on to nickelodeon's salute your shorts
That was very creepy seeing that guy behind the tree. That is the very reason they removed the trees🤣🤣🤣
The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew two parter at Universal shows the Sheraton as well
if you noticed the psycho house is in its second location on the far end of falls lake

Telly savalas kojak...lived @ universal Sheraton 20 yrs til his death....

12:25 Adam the woo?
He was the creepy guy behind the trees. But they removed them so now he just sits in a chair.

Hey, you didn't put your hands all the way into Burt's impressions!!!
How far was this back lot from the soundstage where they filmed the actual show?
The poor cinerama....it sure is a mad mad mad mad world..
