I’ve tried a handful of different mirrors on my adventure bikes and, while they all have their pros and cons, I’m super happy with the Quick Flip Mirror Kit by Rottweiler Performance. If you are doing a combination of off-road and road riding, this is by far the way to go for mirrors on your KTM 890 Adventure.
The mirror portions of this kit are by CRG and Rottweiler has developed the mounting bracket for the mirrors to adapt to handguards instead of bar ends. The mounting kit is what allows these mirrors to be so versatile and move into several different positions to adapt to your riding. Personally for me, if I’m on road, I have the mirrors positioned all the way out. If I’m heading off road, I flip them in so they are out of the way. The visibility is solid in both positions. I’ve had HDB mirrors before (they are a small round mirror that moves out from HDB handguards) and honestly the visibility from those was just not ideal. Why have mirrors if you can’t even see out of them? I halfway expected the same type of issues with these mirrors but that was not the case at all!
While our recent Central America trip was primarily touring, I’m really excited to have these on my 890 moving forward as we are typically riding off road. I’m excited to have solid visibility on the pavement, and then have nothing in my way or obstructing my view when I hit the dirt. I can easily flip these in and still have some visibility and not be afraid of breaking or damaging something if I fall.
These mirror mounts can be adapted to multiple different handguards as the installation only requires two 1/4 inch holes. I have these mounted on Cycra’s Ultra Probend CRM Handguards and was able to do so without limiting the available positions of the mirrors. Rottweiler sends a paper template so you can apply these mounts to your existing handguards and of course they have a video on how to install. The install was fairly easy and straight forward, though make sure that before you drill your holes, the movement of the mirrors won’t be compromised by hitting the plastic on the handguards.
As with anything you can expect from Rottweiler, the mounts are high quality, durable, and built to last. The mirrors are the CRG Arrow mirrors and are also made of high quality materials. The glass is also replaceable for less than $20/mirror. That is an incredible benefit to this system. If you happen to break the glass, you can replace them without spending a lot of money. Speaking of spending money, you will be spending more on these than some mirror systems but in my opinion, they will last the life of the bike and should take a lot of abuse. They are worth their weight in the fact that they don’t get in my way off-road and also the different positions depending on the riding I’m doing. The MSRP of the Arrow Mirrors is around $120 per mirror. This kit from Rottweiler is $240 and that includes the Quick Flip Mirror Mount from Rottweiler - which you are basically getting for free if you purchase from them.

What cyra hand guards do you have? Mine on the 1290 are metal. Those look plastic on the inside.

Any noticeable difference in air flow between these mirrors and the stock or double takes? I'm wondering if there is less buffeting with these.

No I don't notice any difference with air flow.

@@AdventureRig that's disappointing! I was hoping this would've made a substantial dent in the buffeting:(

@@elliotmccajun3736 most of the buffeting we experience comes from the fact that there's not a windshield.

man this thing is nice but 72$ just for the mount to ship in Canada. That's 93$ plus border fees for a piece of 7/8 drilled on my handguard. Price isn't reasonable.

Take your double take mirrors and brig them almost in the same position as these one. Tilt the mirrors towards the guards almost a the same level.
