Okay, Instructions: #8 "Will last for a couple of weeks in the fridge". I believe you, but I'll never know for sure 😆This is seriously great! I made a bunch of recipes for weekly meal prep and I had this chilling in the fridge while the Ginger Snap Molasses cookies were cooling on the counter and the Classic Vegan Cheesecake was firming up in the freezer. Y'all see where I'm going here... It was also very good drizzled over the Cheesecake. Thank you Jill. This is really really good!
Wow Michelle! That is impressive 🙌🏻❤️
It really makes our day to hear how much you are enjoying the recipes 😊😊
I'm not vegan or vegetarian (yet) but never liked the idea of lemon curd having eggs in there as we can't use the whole lot in a short amount of time, so this is just perfect. Love it.
In Australia we make little lemon tarts with it. This is a handy recipe
Thank you for this recipe, it is exactly what I was looking for! No egg, butter or sugar...perfection! UPDATE: Ok it has been a few hours since I watched the video and I have since actually made this and followed directions step by step and this stuff is AMAZING... like crazy good! Like Lemon Crack LOL. THANK YOU AGAIN!
Lemon curd originated in England in the nineteenth century. It's delicious. Thank you for this recipe!
I've just made this and I can't believe how good it is! Thank you so much for posting this amazing recipe. My head is full of things I can now do with it. It really is a game changer x
Thank you for this recipe! I have a nut milk maker and the ease of that and simplicity of this recipe, I can’t stop using the oat milk method now! I’ve made a grapefruit curd and a pumpkin pie pudding using the base of this recipe. So delicious!
Strain the oatmeal with cheesecloth and use it in the bath to wash your face and/or body. It will leave your skin feeling luxurious!!! Love the recipe, too. :)

Great tip👍Thank you 🤗
Wow! What a great tip! I will have to add it to my next bath!
That is what I do too :)
The cloth?
@@BlazeSub0 The oatmeal😉
Yes ! I have been looking for this . All of the vegan lemon curd recipes have white sugar and vegan butter but this is exactly what I want.
me too...what a great recipe...i have the ingredients...will make tomorrow as i will just eat it if i make it now..lol
i made it and it was great...i did add a sugar substitute..and i used the same recipe except used dried apricots instead of dates with no sweetener..just lots of dried fruit...really yum
This has become a staple in my fridge, before the jar empties I make another batch...it is really THAT good. Thank you so much for this recipe.
Anything with lemon and I'm in. I can't wait to try this. I am addicted to your videos. So many wonderful recipes. Thank you!!
I love this recipe! I'm definitely going to try this very soon.😋😋 Thank you Jill!💜
Thank you Jill, I love lemon curd, it's nice in jam tarts instead of jam. I haven't had it in years so I was delighted to see how simple it is to make 💛
Thanks for the recipe! I love your zester, so easy to use! ❤️👍
Just made it! Will become the icing and/or filling in my lemon cake. Yummmmm!
WOW! I JUST DID IT 💪
T'WAS SO QUICK & EASY 👍
THANK YOU 😘
Lemon curd , one of my favourite foods made healthy !! Thanks for this lovely recipe .💜🍁💜
i just tried it and it turned out to be yummmm!
Wow I was recently thinking about how I could make a plant based lemon curd... thank you!!!
Thank you for making so much wonderful content.
Amazing! I just made it! Can’t wait to try it!🍋
That's genius Jill! I normally add cashews, arrowroot starch and rapadura sugar for this recipe, but I will have to give this a try! ❤️👍
How about sharing your recipe too? ☺️👍🍋🌱💚
So genius! Thank you!
Thank you Jill💖❤️
This is really good! I made a crust out of oat flour, coconut oil and honey and made lemon bars
Your classic "cheesecake" can easily be transformed into a lemon "cheesecake". For Christmas, I intend to try out that idea. I'll double the lemon curd recipe. Half of that will be the topping and the other half will be folded into the filling.
Yum! Great idea 👍❤️
What a great recipe! Vegans are sooo inventive! Thank you 😊
I agree vegans are inventive
Thanks.....I am going for it.
Wow your blender is amazing and looks very futuristic lol. Also amazing recipe im gonna try right now
Love your videos! TY.
Awesome ;D I haVe missed lemon curd . THANK YOU ! loVe from Cornwall, UK
Thank you.
Finally got down to making this. Looove how it turned out! I'm using it to stuff wfpb donuts with.
Love this..now I need to figure out a way to turn this into a pie...
awesome! thank you!

I’m thinking jelly filled vegan donuts!
That is a great idea 🤙
Thank you 👍👍👍👍👍
Yummy 😋 thx. Good job 👏🏻 💛🍋✅
Can’t wait to try this. I made the turtle cake yesterday for my husband’s birthday. We both loved it and despite several components it was easy. Thank you Jill.
Fantastic 🤗
Happy birthday!🎉🎂
thank you for this recipe. I love lemon curd and there is nothing on the market that is free of eggs and other oils
Great recipe. 👏👏👏
I love lemon curd and haven't had since vegan. Thank you!
I’ve been meaning to make this for several months. Finally got to today and it’s DELICIOUS! Seems all of your recipes I’ve made are really fantastic, gonna have to buy your recipe book.
Btw, I mixed a couple of tablespoons of this with a half cup of Fromage cashew yogurt and it made a really delicious and creamy lemon yogurt. With a tiny bit of heating and topped with a dollop of coconut whipped cream it would make a divine warm pudding too.
Wow, that sounds amazing 😋😋😋😋
I love lemon curd and having a whole food plant-based version is great.
Thank you, that is mch better. Will try it and send you a message or pic when done.
I am vegetarian but I’m trying to reduce my milk intake. I also plan to not eat any refined sugar for 3 months and this just seems perfect. Thank you
if you want to avoid grains ie oats which are sprayed with pesticide you could use potato starch and stevia to sweeten it.
I'm not going vegan anytime soon, and I love the crap out of lemon curd. Problem is when you use egg yolks, it eventually has that nasty sulfur-ish smell from the eggs and it reduces shelf life. Weird gross egg taste..
Tried this recipe with blended Apricots instead of dates and a bit of Stevia. Came out DAMN good!
would never have thought of lemons and apricots going together. It sounds awesome just thinking about I have to try.
Great recipe! It would be very helpful if you'd link the products you use and where to get them ~ everything from the blender to the jars, etc. It helps new people in the kitchen find tools for vegan cooking! I just bought Meyer lemons and can't wait to make this :)
I have never heard of Lemon Curd before, but it sounds really interessting. Btw...i really njoy your channel nd find your presentations delightful nd cute :) nd all these receipes look so easy nd tasteful... u r really helping my transition to an almost vegan person :)
Greetings from Switzerland
Yo! Lemon curd is soooooo good! We eat it on cookies and crackers, in oat cup muffins, and anything else that we feel could be improved with a sweet lemony kick.
@@amydecker6207 well, i will definitly give it a try
Nutritional scientists discovered that orange and lemon pithe strengthens the walls of the arteries. Not too tasty though. Yeuck. lol. Thanks for another delicious recipe sister. ♥
I made this and it was surprisingly delicious and smooth! Thank you for the recipe. I do prefer mine a little more tart/lemony, if I added more lemon juice, would that throw off the ratio of liquid for thickening it?
I think it would work fine
Just wondering how you went with increasing the amount of lemon juice or if you have tried that yet?
hello, Jill 🙋♀️
gorgeous tipp 👍
no eggs, no fat, no sugar ✌️
to thicken the curd with oats
can I also use oat bran instead 🤔
No sure , I haven’t tried that 😐
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow
I just did it
it worked very well with oat bran 👍
Have you considered saffron to give the curd a more vibrant yellow?
I wonder how it tastes if you put a teenytiny pinch of kala namak into it (to resemble the egg yolk)…….definitely a must try recipe because of the healthy ingredients (oats! .....who would have thought…...) :D
I was also thinking saffron for yellow colour.
@@biobrigita2 That would be an even better idea than turmeric. It tastes much better as well.
I add kala namak to most things that are usually made with eggs, e.g. in my pancakes and it is just sooooo good. Sometimes I don’t think of the egg flavor as something positive though (as some versions of pasta carbonara, where it really tasted too much egg yolk, esp. versions made with milk or cream to be very rich - yuck), then I leave it out. And I just LOVE using flax «eggs» and also besan flour «eggs», depending on what I’m making. Today I tried something new, I made pancakes with half besan, half whole wheat flour and added carrot powder and kala namak. It wasn’t all successful, BUT, what really surprised me, was the wet and creamy texture it got, so egg-like. Just like wet, creamy scrambled eggs, which i for sure did not expect! It may just be something to experiment more with... I guess I have to make more carrot powder soon, ai just loooove powders! ☺️
@@lottatroublemaker6130 fascinating! how do u make carrot POWDER??
Now you just need the pie crust
It's good in yogurt.
Wonderful recipe. My husband will go crazy for this as he LOVES lemon curd!
If you don't mind me asking, where overseas did you live?
New Zealand 👍
I just made this and it tastes very good. But I was disappointed that it didn’t look any thing at all like your picture on the post.
💖
Brilliant! Do you think we can water bath can this recipe?
Sorry, not sure
If I wanted this to be a little sweet rather than tart would I add more dates?
Back in the day, I used to love those southern lemon bars. Do you think this would be a suitable filling for those? I know I could tweak the crust to make it healthy, too. I was just always stumped on the filling.
Absolutely 👍
Laurie Anne I was thinking the same thing. I believe there is an oat crust that just might work ...back to the kitchen 🤔
Hey, thanks for the recipe! Can I just use oatmilk instead of the rolled oats plus water?
Not sure if it will work because of the other ingredients that are in store bought oat milks.
I love this, I have to try! Can you tell me how much does it make?
About 2 cups
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Really??? That's awesome!!
shit lista j
I love this idea! I have been experimenting with making oat milk, but it always comes out slimy. You don’t seem to have that problem in this recipe. Do you know the secret to avoiding slimy oat milk?
If I mix it for more than 1 minute it seems to be slimier but honestly it still does sometimes. Maybe it is the different brands of oats and how they are processed.
Wash the oats first
It is cooked and starch is emulsified. No slim
Wondering if I just added coconut cream and threw it in my icecream maker if it would make icecream
Micheal L
Not sure but that sounds amazing😋
At 0:39 are the Rolled Oats...quick oats, whole, steel cut, ETC... which kind do we use please and thank you 😊 in advance for answering this question.
They are actually rolled oats. It is the whole oat steamed and rolled flat which is why they are called rolled oats
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Awesome 🥰 TYSM ❣
Has anyone substituted dates for anything? I am hoping blending a ripen banana or using raisins instead due to allergies might work :)
Hi, Lovely recipe. I think I'll be able to use bought oatmilk, wich we have here in Denmark for Vegans. Would you still say 2½ cup oatmilk or 2 1/4 cup??
2 cups 👍
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Thank you.
Great recipe! Do you think it would work with store bought oat milk as well?
That is a good question. I’m not really sure, sorry 😐
I was going to ask the same. I tried oat for the first time this weekend and wasn’t a fan. It is store bought with just oat and water in ingredient listing but I find it too sweet of that’s possible. This recipe would be a good way to use it up.
@@mamakins5123 If you try it let me know if it works :)
Nicole Sykora many commercial oat milks use hydrolyzed oats to release their sugar. This means it won’t thicken the same and will be higher in glycemic indez
Would this be firm enough to use for lemon bars?
Yes
Is there an oat milk replacement for people who are allergic to oats? Would chickpea flour work for example? Or could you just use almond milk?
schniamhy
Sorry, I haven’t tried any substitutes
Try almonds or cashews
Wd love to make it; but I need a list of ingredients and it's quantities. Please

Hello: I deal with multiple autoimmune disorders and know that changing my lifestyle on what I put into my body needs to change, but I just don't know where to begin without becoming "stressed, confused & overwhelmed " bcz of soooo many things I have read & heard; It just seems like an "unreachable goal". Would you please suggest a easy plan for beginners as my myself? Something that's simple to follow? Thanks♡

**P.S. I did edit my typos; so glad u still understood. Lol Thank u!🥰
Take one day at a time. I have spent the last 3 months watching vegan youtube channels - picking up bits & pieces of info. I went to the library & borrowed vegan cookbooks. I am still learning.
@@PCOrton Thank you so much for your tips & words of encouragement. I needed that.😊🦋
Keep is very simple. Choose one simple breakfast, and one or two simple lunch/dinner recipes and eat that for a while. Only drink water. By simple I mean something like avocado toast (no spices or onion), or quinoa with black beans, or potatoes with broccoli. SIMPLE!
Is there any reason I couldn’t add the dates in the first step when blending the oats?
T. B. I was thinking exactly that!
Is a good thought but I tried that first and it doesn’t strain through the nut milk bag well.
I wonder if some cashewsmixed in will be good since we dont use eggs?
there aren't any eggs in tis recipe
Usually there is butter in lemon curd, right? So do you think i could blend in some cashews to make it more fat?
Sure, I would blend it with the oats👍
What kind of blender are you using?
It is a Blendtec Professional 800
amzn.to/2RVG8Ra
What brand blender do you use?
It is a Blendtec Professional 800
what it that blender you use..and why the sheild on it?
It is a Blendtec Professional 800. We were living in an apartment at the time and we use our blender a lot. These powerful blenders are very loud so we got the blender that had a “silent” case out of respect for our neighbors 😊
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow does it really work ..i have a food prosser ..so loud i have noise cancel ear muffs
Would it be able to be used as a pie filling?
william saltsman
Yes 👍
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow I was wondering the same. Does it 'set up' (firm up) when chilled?
Jill, is powdered date "sugar" acceptable?
I haven’t tried it but I think it would work. Not sure how much to tell you though, sorry
Do you have an alternative to dates?
Raisins
Could you use store bought oatmilk?
I’m not sure if will work because of the additional ingredients that are added to store bought milk
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow the ingredients are just water and oats... so I think it would be ok
Is there a date substitute. They are too high in carbs for me
Raisins
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Thanks for replying but raisins are also very high in carbs. perhaps I will try swerve or similar as I am diabetic
Not only doesn't include zillion of eggs but also don't need to buy expensive starches such as tapioca or arrowroot
Instead of using water and rolled oats. Could u just use oat milk?
It doesn’t work the same with commercial oat milk because of all the extra ingredients and fillers that are in it. If you use homemade that is just oats and water, then yes👍
Hi. Your Printable Recipe never says when to add the Lemon Juice. ?? :)
Shipper
Thank you for letting me know.
I corrected it 👍
Wish the recipes also available in grams 😭
I’m allergic to oats. Any other ideas?
Maybe some other plant milk and add corn starch to thicken it up?
can i use oat milk?
not really sure if it will work because of the additional ingredients that are typically added to store bought plant milks
Is this a childproof blender?
It is for sound
Can I use this for lemon meringue pie?
Yes 🤗
Hey! Can I replace the dates with Stevia?
I haven't tried it but I think it would work
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow thank you!!
Everyone else in the comments seems to have had no trouble but mine wouldn’t thicken 😢 (needless to say I’m not great in the kitchen)
How long did you stir it on the stove pot? That's when the thickening happens.
It looks good, just not sure about all the starch and dates, I guess because I'm used to doing keto desserts. I think 1/2 c. dates needs more than 4 medjouls. I see it turns out kind of dark but that's ok.
Weird blender...what is that hood thing for?
It is to buffer the noise
