What city in Kenya? it would be ultra interesting to find out how did he stored the shoes what kind of life they had before he retired them, the temperature humidity and all that. Awesome story btw.
Air Max 1 really withstands the waves and storms, the performance after all these years was amazing. I saw the OG Air Max colorway 2005 released, man that pair is 18yrs and yours is like what i lost count of the years. That pair is truly the vintage of all time and what is intriguing is the fact that it's made in korea, that is insane high quality production. I am so glad to know more about the OG Air Max 1 and your story telling is a way to get us connected and sharing stories about why we buy what we love. Please continue to share your Air Max collections story. Looking forward. Great content with awesome editing. well done dude!
I have bought a lot of vintage high end leather shoes from Kenya. I don’t know why there’s so many vintage shoes resellers there but I have a great buying experience each time.
@@VintageKicksGallery that’s interesting. Thank you for your insight. But I still wonder why there’s so many high end leather shoes there too. Your channel is great btw. I’m not a sneaker guy. More loafers and dress shoes but your knowledge and production are so great I really enjoy your shows. Thank you
I bought nike air delta force 1s from either kenya or south africa, and the whole shoe looks either unworn or were rarely used and it's such a clean pair and i got em for like 170 bucks.
This was such a great story, I'd advise some more dynamic cuts between your different cameras, and some more hand movement, I think that could make the video more engaging. But it's always a good day when you upload, so I'm not gonna complain
Yeah this was my first time trying this format so I have a bit to learn. I'm definitely going to be including more alternate footage in the next one but I only had an afternoon to do this one so it was rather limited.
What a find! Both the og’s and little Tinker Catfield 💛 would love to see more AM1 content and maybe mid/outsole swaps, restorations, etc. along with your Jordan content. I know you’ve done a sole swap before but it was a pretty quick vid and didn’t show as much detail as your J1 videos
two things 1. recently i sold something for maybe half what it was worth on ebay but felt i should go through with the sale as it wouldn’t be fair to the buyer to cancel. this story helped affirm it was the right thing to do 2. you can unfog air bubbles by hitting it with some hot air?
I had those in the very front ,I bought them in February 2005 ,I bought black ones with african colours in 2009. I had the 2002 version with U.S. Flag ,I bought them in December 2002 and wore them till summer 2003, then I had a Limited Edition K SWISS i bought in Fall 2003.I wore them with my Maurice Malone baggy pant I miss the 2000s
Help me out here, and maybe I'm wrong cause I was only 9 when these came out in 87 and didn't know these existed till I actually became a sneakerhead LATER in life. BUT... with all the "Big Air Bubble" Air Max 1's coming out this year, with all the talk that these are how they should've been made with the 30th anniversary set 5 years ago... Shouldn't these (and the red crumbled pair you have behind you) have that BIG AIR BUBBLE??? I also recently saw the old commercial for the OG red ones and those actually had the bigger air bubble as well.

I have no clue where they were originally stored but it had to be in Kenya's more stable climate.
You're a great story teller, really enjoyed it with much anticipation!!
Appreciate that!
Would definitely enjoy more sneaker stories!
I have plenty to tell so I'll try to drop these here and there.
Those soles are just literally incredibly well preserved, not even yellowish, but the rest seems very worn?
Tinker Catfield , Wonderful !
Hey the suede on those airman is crazy. That was very enjoyable story, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Happy Air Max Day BrokeandFamous
Happy Air Max Day- did you hit on any?
@@VintageKicksGallery Missed out on the Blueprints, but its all good. Might have to get the Heavy. They are too crazy!

I have bought a lot of vintage high end leather shoes from Kenya. I don’t know why there’s so many vintage shoes resellers there but I have a great buying experience each time.
I was told a lot of pairs went over there in the 80s during the marathon craze.

What a while story and amazing that they are still wearable. More Sneaker Stories please. This will be great for me for bed time stories. Hahah.
Haha the only thing that could have made me love your channel more was a cat!!

I was told a ton of Nikes were sent there during the 80's/early 90's as part of a relief effort + to encourage the marathon movement.

I have something I'm working on that (if I can get someone on board) will explain a lot of the mystery around the Air Max longevity.
@@VintageKicksGallery hope you can get them on board that sounds very interesting!

Incredible story!
Thanks!
Great story mate and awesome pair..
I feel your pain, there’s nothing worse than wanting the shoe not the money😂
Seems like I need to ship my collection to Kenya for preservation.
Right? It's amazing how well these were preserved- better than a time capsule.
