    Hip Hop was our NYC sub culture. It was how we lived, dressed, danced, talked, etc.. We did not learn Hip Hop back then, we created it. Each hood had Graff. Artist, Bombers, Mc's, Rockers, DJs and Crews.
    "DON'T BITE" These Brothers are right.

    He explained the difference between a " breaker" and a B Boy perfectly. Tons of kids can spin on their head and do flips but they don't have that " funk". The rhythm the footwork..u gotta live a certain way .. experience life and hip hop culture to get that ingrained in you.

    MIND. BLOWN. Thanks Wiggs and Fabel. Especially Fabel, he really went in depth with it. I had the honor and privelage of judging a bboy battle with him, he was a cool brother, full of history and insight. All you had to do was ask. BTW, I like how Wiggles signs a blackbook while Fabel is talking, when I met them both I got both of them to sign mine along with Skeeter Rabbit.

    It's probably a misunderstanding. I just found a Coke La Rock interview and it was/is ENLIGHTENING. If I had the money, I would pay for the sheer joy as teenager in the early 80s the pioneers gave to me, especially T LA ROCK.

    Rsc i respect but these legends dont live how they use too.
    In the 90s nyc had a new mayor in town to promise to clean up nyc thats RUDY.....
    he wanted no graffiti, no breakin on the streets , no load stereos blasting like how it was the opposite in the 83 84 era...
    I had a relative came to nyc here in south bronx and he was shocked how the kids sadly today will never know the essence of REAL HIP HOP.
    As he was last hear in summer of 85 and remembers breakin on the streets those amazing graffiti trains.
    I relate even more as i grew up and saw it all.
    Nyc will always be the home of hiphop . In the 80s i was a kid i travelled sometines outta state to jersey lol to LA but never had that massive energy that new york had. Sad really
    But greatful as i witnessed it all.

      +nuffflavor It's word is bond. Some have made the same mistakes. Most didn't catch it being that it sounded the same, It probably got to a point were it got changed not knowing what it was suppose to mean.
      The phrase "My word is bond". Was used by the 5 percent nation. Back in the early to mid 80's. Almost everybody was a G.O.D. or a 5 Percenter. If not were affiliated with one. Everyone in the hood anyway. Google rapers from 80 to 89 90 percent had GOD Body names.

    • @nuffflavor
      @nuffflavor Před 8 lety

      Derrick Funnye' That is cool, but this video is of the Hip Hop genre and the term "Word is Born" is what was used.
      I have already posted (the comment before yours) that FACT that is was used. I am not debating the origin... I am stating WHAT was the term for HIP HOP.
