Pruning Paulownia & re-using the wood for wild life

How to prune the Paulownia tomentosa to get those giant jungle leaves?
Prune the tree back severely in spring. Cut the trunk down to within 10 to 30 cm of the ground. Snip out most of the shoots that develop from the stump. Keep only 1 or 2 shoots and the leaves should grow about twice as large as they generally would.
The pruned hollow stem can be used for wild life in the garden.
