there are alot of uncertainty about spacers that fit the 100 series. alot of 100 series owners want to use wheel spacers to space out their wheels to run bigger tires. problem is, the 100 series front hub is difficult to find a spacer that fits, the front flange nuts get into the way. alot of spacers on amazon say they fit, but in the comments, people say it doesnt. so, i bought the 4 spacers with the most reviews to test fit them on my 100 series, the results might shock you.

Hey, I just picked up a 100 series and your videos have been awesome as I search for maintenance items to do myself. I just picked up a set of 200 series rims locally that required spacers in order to fit. I went with Spidertrax from Slee Off-road because of recommendations on Mud. I highly recommend them (mainly because of Slee’s customer service). For anyone considering the same ones, a heads up... at first I didn’t think the front ones would fit because they hit the nuts, but rotating the spacer one lug did the trick. It sits really flush and I have a lot of confidence in their durability and safety. Thanks again for your videos!
Love that you're doing a comparison between the different ones available. Having a spacer that is both hub centric and also lug centric on a Toyota is very important. And then if you add aftermarket wheels or wheels from a different vehicle into the mix, that's also something you have to keep in mind. I have always had custom spacers made for all of my applications over the years by either a CNC shop or more recently over the last six or seven years by a company called Motorsport-tech. I highly recommend you check them out. They make all of their spacers in house on their CNC machines in the USA and the quality is top-notch. They are fantastic folks to deal with

I run BORA spacers. Love em! Only con is the lead time because they make them (made in the USA) per order.
I know of many other 100 series owners that run spidertrax wheel spacers.
I would only run BORA or Spidertrax!

@@chowcares the spidertrax wheel spacers are designed with the cone washer in mind. There is a space milled out so it will fit perfectly.

You’re welcome. I believe because 1.25” isn’t too much width, it’s hard to make a spacer that clears the flange nuts AND is hub centric. 1.5” might be more reasonable, maybe I’ll order a bunch of 1.5” for the next video

Thanks as always for the content. I am amazed at your ability to respond to so many people. I am going to test that with a dual battery question. I installed the Redarc isolator and basically modeled what you did in your install. My PROBLEM is that when i turned the truck on it did not want to stay on. The rpms would decrease and the engine would die. After a few attempts and gunning the engine the truck eventually stayed on. I turned it off, took a shower and went back to drive it thinking maybe the starter battery needed to charge. It was disconnected for a few hours yesterday. On my drive I had to stop for traffic. Truck died. I started it, drove about two blocks and had to stop at a light...the truck died. I turned around and came back home and sat in my driveway idling for a minute or so and it was fine. Any ideas what the problem could be? Did you encounter this? Feel free anyone else who reads this comment to...comment.
That doesn’t sound like a problem that’s connect with the dual battery. Double check the areas you were working on and look for a broken/unplugged vaccum line

The ECCPP ones fit. The wheel nuts centre the wheel on the spacer perfectly. I have them on mine. No issues what so ever.
True, but a spacer shouldn’t just rely on the lug nuts to center. That’s why all oem wheels are hub centric
Hub centric isn't designed just to center the wheel. That lip takes a significant portion of the impact forces on the wheel. Going with lug centric places all the load on the studs, which weakens the entire setup.

Try Bora or Slee spacers. Both will work and I believe they come in 1.25in. They are more expensive than the Amazon ones but you get what you pay for. I personally don't run spacers because I'm worried about failure and damage they potentially cause.
I hear good things about the bora spacers, might give them a shot. Spacers are a gray area for me. I always hear that getting a different wheel with a lower offset would be a better choice, but a lot of the cheaper wheels that are popular don’t hold a candle to the quality of the oem Toyota wheel. Maybe it’s time to go te37 😍
If you replaced the hex flange bolts with grade 8 allen bolts the hubs would fit.. and the bolts would be stronger.
Have you done this? I'd be on board to give it a try.
Spidertrax from slee fit perfect
Hub spacers are considered a very bad idea here in Australia, they're are also an illegal modification over here too.
I would be very hesitate to run any wheel spacers on a heavy Landcruisers, especially running with close to 35" rubber. Probably be okay if you only use it for show or shopping "mall crawler".
For the mighty 100, it's far better, safer and reliable to go with wider offset rims and no larger than a 33" tires.
Many have run spacers on their 100 with no issue. You are right that it is another "point of failure" as they are another "detachable" component, but legality isn't a reliable indicator of safety. From an engineering perspective, running wheel spacers is the same as running wheels with a more negative offset, which many do worldwide.
@@13milespergallon63Yeah I'm just pointing out that spacers are not the best option for a heavy touring 100 that is used offroad. You're probably right from an engineering point of view but in the real world it can be very different. By doubling the points of attachment you increase risk of human error and failure. This is why they're a safety concern and why they're are illegal here in Aus.
Just because many have had no issues, doesn't mean it's safe for everyone. Wheel spacers do have their place, but not great idea on these Landcruisers. Unless you only have for show purpose, light duty use and it's legal with the authorities.

Great comparison! Did the original adapter come off easy? Did you use the highly debated lock tite on the lugs and anti seize on the back?
Can you actually try out the all aluminum spacer. I think your statement that it does not fit is based on flawed thinking. The bolts will self center the spacer.. and you showed it fits.
It’s not hub centric, so any the only thing centering the spacer would be the lug nuts. Technically, it would bolt up, but any shock from the wheels would transfer to the wheels stud alone. since the 100 is a heavy vehicle and most owners do some sort of off-roading, I cannot recommend this spacer due to safety concerns
Why not raise the truck on jack stands and mount the silver spacers. I would want to see if there is any runout. I think they would be safe and correct and fit perfectly. Your not understanding that the bolts force the spacer to be 100 percent centered.
i got supreme suspension 2 inch spacers a year or two ago and they fit great

Could you say exactly what you mean by " hub centric " ?? Sorry my friend. Its just not a term I am familiar with. I am an engineer. So very detail oriented.
I wonder if those spacers may fit in the different model years of the 100 series. Maybe the '03-'07 model years.
Not 100% sure but I doubt it. Front axle flange was same on all 100 series models even tho the later ones got a different front diff

What do you think about wheel adapters? For example from 5x150 to much popular 6x5.5 ? But they are 2 inches so maybe the wheel will be too far?

With the rocktrix spacers. If you rotated the bolts a few degrees to get a flat spot towards the outside of the hub.. would it fit then ?
When you tighten the bolts. Does that not force the spacer to center correctly ?
Seems like it would add some stress on your front bearings. And steering components. Plus you have added a lot of unsprung weight..
Do you need the spacers to move the tire away from the center of the land cruiser ?

Your still missing the point that the all aluminum spacer with no lip. When the lug bolts are bolted on there is NO RUNOUT.. NO ABILITY TO MOVE.
You attempted to measure fit without the bolts holding the spacer centered.
The center edge is not machined so tight that there is no play.

When you look at the actual bolts they have a 30 degree to 45 degree angle to them. So they will automatically center the spacer to the hub. So your issue that it will not work. On the one that fit. Is not a valid issue .
When you say it does not say it fits in the title. But shows the fitment in the drop down it shows it fits. I dont see that as interesting or anything to be concerned about. If the ad shows it fits.. it fits. Who cares what the title says .

It was a no name brand, probably Chinese made. I’ll check next time I have the wheel off

Why would it make any difference if the 100 series is in the title of the ad. ?? So if the ad said 2005 land cruiser 100 series. But not toyota your logic would be it does not fit ??
