      Unless your first flight is delayed, you should be fine with your 1:45 minute layover. It really all depends on how many international flights arrive at the same time and all have to go through immigration.
      On my flight to Mexico City last Friday, I waited about 20 minutes in line to get my passport stamped, It looked like there was one other flight that arrived about the same time as the flight I was on.

      If the Mexico City Airport is your first entry point into the country, then you will go through customs & immigrations immediately after your arrival. Once in your arrival terminal, all you need to get to the shuttle train is your boarding pass. I would think you would have no problem bringing your pet onboard the train from one terminal to the other ... as long as you have your boarding pass.

    • @mexicotravelexperiences
      @mexicotravelexperiences  Před rokem +3

      Hi Constance, Let me see if I can help you a little more.
      When you arrive to Terminal 2, you will first go through immigration and customs before entering the main terminal area.
      When you enter the terminal 2 area, you will be on the 1st floor. If you look (most likely to your right), you will see an escalator going up to the 2nd floor. Go up the escalator and then walk to the far end of the building (to your right).
      When you reach the end of the building, turn right and that will be the entrance to go to the train where you will show your ticket and passport. You will see the signs that say "Tren."
      In my video, that is where I am when I started to show the way. You have the info on my video for instructions when you get off the train at Terminal 1.
      When you reach Terminal 1 area (after crossing the skybridge), you will want to go down the escalator to the first floor. If you already have your ticket to Mazatlan and do not need to re-check in, then you can look for the entrance to the security line.
      There should be airport workers around if you have questions. Most likely, they will not know English so just ask them, "Aeromexico a (ah) Mazatlan?" That should do it.
      If you have a layover and want to eat something, there is a food court on the 2nd floor of Terminal 1. When you enter the Terminal after getting off the train and crossing the skybridge, turn left on the 2nd floor and just keep walking straight. You will reach this area where there are a few restaurants and other food places.
      Hope this helps.
      Have a great trip and enjoy Mazatlan!

      Hi Abril, After you go through immigration, pick up your checked bags, and go through customs. Depending on the airlines, they may take your bag right away before customs to be rechecked.
      Or, they may ask you to take your checked bags and go to the airline's check in counter to recheck them. However, you will not have to pay another fee to recheck your already checked in bags.

    Hi! I have a flight soon to Chihuahua. I’ll be going from San Antonio, then a layover at Mexico City, then finally at Chihuahua. I’ll only be in MEX for an hour and 15 minutes. From your experience, do you believe the order things will go is exit plane, go through the train, enter immigration, pick up luggage, go to next gate. Or do you think they’ll transfer out luggage? I’ve been calling everywhere but I haven’t been able to get a steady answer and the little amount of time I have there worries me tremendously. Thank you!!

    • @mexicotravelexperiences
      @mexicotravelexperiences  Před 3 lety

      Hi Reza,
      When you check in at your home airport for your flight to Mexico City, the agent will tell you if your checked luggage will be sent through directly to the Chihuahua airport or if you have to recheck your bags when you arrive in Mexico City.
      Also, on your plane to Mexico City there should be an announcement telling everyone who has a connecting flight what your procedure will be. If you have questions, you can either ask a flight attendant or one of the airline reps at your arrival gate.
      After arrival, you would first go through immigration.
      Then if you were told to pick up your checked luggage (if it does not go directly through to Chihuahua), you would do that before going through customs.
      Depending on the airlines, they may have you recheck you checked luggage before you go through customs. If that does not happen, then go through customs with all your bags, enter the public airline terminal area and go to the check-in counter to recheck you bags.
      Then if you need to go to the other terminal for your 2nd flight, you can follow the signs for the train (Tren). You will need your passport and boarding pass to show before you enter the area where you will wait for the train.
      I hope this info helps you. Have fun in Chihuahua!

      Hi Thomas, Wherever you first arrive into the country of Mexico, that is where you will go through immigrations and customs. Regarding your luggage - You can check with your airlines to see if your bags are being checked through all the way to your final destination in Guatemala. If they are not being checked through, then you would need to pick them up after going through immigrations and customs. If you leave the secure area of the airport and go into the passenger terminal, you will just need to go through security once again to reach your gate. Wiith 12 hours, you will have lots of time to travel into the city to go exploring. Just so you know, there are 2 locations at the Mexico City airport where you can store any of your luggage when you leave the airport. They are lockers. I hope this information helps. Happy Travels!
