In regards to using rares as food, 1 thing to note is that you can use any and all rares that drop in the campaign missions as long as you're saving at least 1. For example, eventually everyone will get to stage 12 brutal to farm exp and you're going to get a ton of hounds and diabolists so there's nothing wrong with sacrificing them. Doing so will actually speed up your leveling food process by a fair amount over a long period. Always save every rare that you can only get from shards, even if they look like they're terrible (like 95% of the rares I keep getting, thanks RNGesus). If you get duplicates you can always feed 1 to another for skill upgrades. And when you're storing champions for later, it helps to feed them a common hero in the tavern to get them to lvl 2 just so you know which one you've been feeding duplicates to.

Good advice even old dogs can learn new tricks. I would never use a epics or legendary for food but I have used multiple rares which I will be not be doing now. Thanks
Unless I think the rare might be useful later I just use them for food. I have used a couple epics as food like Hexia who look kinda useless, but I mostly keep them.
I'm pretty much exactly the same way with my shards. I've been sitting on a ton of good shards burning a hole in my pocket and trying to wait on the next summoning event.... which happens to be tomorrow! So I'm itching to see what I get. The only thing I wasn't really doing was saving a secondary rare in case of a new fuse. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Thinking ahead for faction wars, not bad ... I'm more of a minimalist player though, I only have about 9 champions out at a time that I use / upgrade, everything else is food or in my vault. I would get some more 60's going ... I have plans for at least 5 that I know will be used for Arena / CB. We totally agree on the summoning event though, I have so much to upgrade on the champions that I have ...

Good informative video. The sacrifices that guy was going to make for bellower were crazy! No way it's real just an over exaggerated example at best! What do you use your xp brews on? I've used very few but plan to use a couple on whoever I decide to make my first 6 star to speed up the process. Plan to make it after the next summoning rush event and hope for something good.
Seems like we think alike! The only rare that I've used as food was a 4 star Skullsworn. The grind to my first 6 star has been brutal. I feel like I've been super efficient with my resources (except skill tomes in the beginning) 22 days in and lvl 41. I spent my first1500 gems on upgrading the mine and thought I'd be spending the rest on the sparring pit and shop slots but am now planning on getting the Big Shard Pack for 900. Good idea?
Your guides are always very insightful! Just finally got my first legendary, Valkyrie and trying to see if I can get tomes to level her. I have a question, why did you use one of the three rares to skill up? Wouldn’t it be better to just use that rare as food or some other source? Or am I missing something there. Thanks
its just because he plan to have that one prepare for the faction wars i think wants first to rank up all skils for the rares champions and just after to use them as food
At first when I started playing this I always opened all mystery shards, trying to keep the number at zero but then gave up as I get them faster than I could ever open 😅 I never use even rares as food, but the leveling is painful. Especially when I can't really solo on brutal yet, but duo is doable for the first few places. Waiting for a summoning event here as well. 😁

I only use commons for food. I rank uncommons skills just in case sometime something broken rise up with one of them. I use duplicates of uncommons and rares to feed their skills. I would keep duplicates of epic and legendary. Some rare are worth duplicating like Coldheart

And every time I’m in campaign I want to be leveling my hero’s so I’m not wasting energy. Do you level up 1 star hero’s as well or just mainly focus on the uncommons?
I agree completely with never sacrifice a legendary but I use my rares all the time to rank up another rare because some just aren’t useful to my play style. I’ve also used a couple of epics for a rank up and so far I’ve only regretted one of them, not because she was good or useful but because she was pretty unique and I’ve yet to get another of her.

I'm confused, you have 3 champions, you remove them from vault, you skill one up, you put the OTHER (non-skilled) one back in vault.... then what, level the one you skilled up and feed it as food? What is the purpose of skilling up a champion and not storing it in vault?
@@Karsin1991 I think my confusion was around leaving it out to level it if plan wasn't to use it right away. I think most players don't have unlimited energy? Because of that they typically need to be leveling either heros they will be using right away or food. You have 3 slots to level champs, if one of them is being used to level something to 30 just so it'll sit collecting dust for a long while, might as well have used that energy to level food?
You don't touch on the efficacy of sacrificing commons to "upgrade level" in the tavern. Is it worth it when there is a "champion training" or "summon rush" event? I would imagine in both cases it is?
I save mysteries because the Champs take up too much space and only use them for summon events, quests, and the occasional need for more food tho I get most through champain

I sacrificed a lot of skill books before I realised how rare they become :( still struggling to save my shards for the summon event. wasn't able to complete the last summon event on greens & blues alone.
Can you do a recommendations list for faction wars champions for each faction? I started with Athel and am doing okay for most factions up to the first boss. I have yet to beat the boss with any faction. I only have one legend so far(Richtoff - Bannerlords) so I'm operating mostly on rares as my epics don't seem great. Ogryn especially has been difficult for me as I have very few from that group and most are uncommons. (been playing for just over 2mo and recently got Yaga).

He would probably only take them to 5 stars since you don't need 6 stars for food. It takes a while - even with the xp boost and raid pass. I've been playing for over two months and I only have two 6 stars and I'm working on my third and that's slow - I should have started leveling food much sooner than I did though.
Does this apply to early accounts as well? I’m getting close to my first 60 and it seems like it would be so huge a priority that I can safely use bad rares and maybe even an epic or two as food just to get past that first step. The reason for my thinking that is it will enable me to farm something more efficient than 12-3 Normal i.e speeding up the fundamental activity in the game.
Not trying to be a dic, but why dun you just keep the 3rd rare in the vault and just take the first 2 out for skill-up? This way you will not put the wrong one to the vault when you are done

No worries, installed it - found a way to link to the ios server from my pc. Working. Now I need to find a way to loop the combo key feature. Any advice? I.e. replay a specific stage ;-)
If you are farming 12-3/6. You can use all but 2 diabolist as food. Save 2 for fusions. The rest of those are nothing but rank food. And tbh i don't even bother with 12-6. I stay on 12-3. The extra 200 xp you get from 12-6 is so minor you will barely notice it. But the silver you make from selling the shields makes a huge difference. I also don't think it is worth it silver wise to use 1 star commons as rank food. It is better to use uncommons for your feeders, and rares as your rank. Rares lvl up faster than an uncommon. And take a little less silver over all. Use the uncommons to make your rares hit 5 star. For example, i am lvling up 5 fell hounds that drop on 12-3 routinely. To make into 5 stars for 6 star rank up.

I don't get food from Mystery Shards. I get Food from Instances (both Dungeon and Campaign). But I must say... i woudn't even have enough silver to open them :D
You should my vault. It's full of rank 4 and rank 5 commons. andI use duplicate uncommons to rank them up from 2-3, and level other commons to rank them up from 3-4, and then I sacrifice them to rank up my 4s to 5s. I haven't started working on 6s yet, but I figure I'll do the same. I save my uncommons for faction wars. Some of them are beast. I use my rares, epics and legendaries for arena and dungeons. Like, I have a super strong defense team in Arena and all they do is sit there waiting for some poor schmuck to get hit with a maxed out kael and a few epics. And then I have a team just for attacking in Arena. And then I have a team of four geared for campaigns, gearing up for when I'm on nightmare. And I have a dungeon team. And another team for clan bosses. I customize the crap out of my play and to this day I have yet to spend a single real dollar on the game.

Remember, even though a green crystal cost 5000 (compared to an uncummon at 44000), you also pay for the summoning itself. Still, a lot cheaper than bying the uncommons in the shop.

Well I haven't maxed them yet I'm a fairly new player only 2 lvl 60s so far 1st was executioner fully ascended lvl 16 gears for farming then kael fully ascended lvl 16 gear for arena and cb. I just figured these heroes are so easy to get since in always farming 12 If I do need them I will get them pretty easily

hahaha im laughing my ass off at errol as food, i almost did the same thing, he was my 3rd legendary right after i got septimus, from what i can tell is a FAR superior at single target dmg, im aslo relatively new to the game, i took advantage of a 2x blue shard event and my sacred shard for getting all stars on normal was Scyl of the drakes, so i think ive been fairly luck because she cleared all stars on all difficulties in a couple days for me, BUT i had too much to work on and no clue what i was doing....i guess even longer story short i ALMOST fed him, im still kinda thinking about it from time to time lol but i have not

If I've sacrificed for skill ups, I've raised their ascension level to 1. The purple star shows me that that is the copy of the rare that I'm keeping.

I can always farm more food but I can’t always farm more rares. I want to get as many skill upgrades as I can.

PX Primary I left the one I invested in out because I want to level it to 30 since I’ve now invested in it. I can’t level it if it’s in the vault ^^
He explains it in the video. The one in the vault is in case a fusion comes along that needs it. The one he's invested in is something to actually use

It’s only 500 per shard or 2000 per 4. So still only 22000 vs 44000 for an uncommon and I did say half price ^^

Hello! On them for clan boss you want lots of Speed / Accuracy / HP. Your best combination of those artifacts.

Does this apply to early accounts as well? I’m getting close to my first 60 and it seems like it would be so huge a priority that I can safely use bad rares and maybe even an epic or two as food just to get past that first step. The reason for my thinking that is it will enable me to farm something more efficient than 12-3 Normal i.e speeding up the fundamental activity in the game.
Not trying to be a dic, but why dun you just keep the 3rd rare in the vault and just take the first 2 out for skill-up? This way you will not put the wrong one to the vault when you are done
That’s what I do lol or I level it once with a 1 Star so it’s level 2 and I can tell which is which. Sometimes I get distracted while live and brain fart

No worries, installed it - found a way to link to the ios server from my pc. Working. Now I need to find a way to loop the combo key feature. Any advice? I.e. replay a specific stage ;-)
If you are farming 12-3/6. You can use all but 2 diabolist as food. Save 2 for fusions. The rest of those are nothing but rank food. And tbh i don't even bother with 12-6. I stay on 12-3. The extra 200 xp you get from 12-6 is so minor you will barely notice it. But the silver you make from selling the shields makes a huge difference.
I also don't think it is worth it silver wise to use 1 star commons as rank food. It is better to use uncommons for your feeders, and rares as your rank. Rares lvl up faster than an uncommon. And take a little less silver over all. Use the uncommons to make your rares hit 5 star. For example, i am lvling up 5 fell hounds that drop on 12-3 routinely. To make into 5 stars for 6 star rank up.

You should my vault. It's full of rank 4 and rank 5 commons. andI use duplicate uncommons to rank them up from 2-3, and level other commons to rank them up from 3-4, and then I sacrifice them to rank up my 4s to 5s. I haven't started working on 6s yet, but I figure I'll do the same. I save my uncommons for faction wars. Some of them are beast. I use my rares, epics and legendaries for arena and dungeons. Like, I have a super strong defense team in Arena and all they do is sit there waiting for some poor schmuck to get hit with a maxed out kael and a few epics. And then I have a team just for attacking in Arena. And then I have a team of four geared for campaigns, gearing up for when I'm on nightmare. And I have a dungeon team. And another team for clan bosses. I customize the crap out of my play and to this day I have yet to spend a single real dollar on the game.

Remember, even though a green crystal cost 5000 (compared to an uncummon at 44000), you also pay for the summoning itself. Still, a lot cheaper than bying the uncommons in the shop.

How do u save up 9k gems and still have 100 blue shards? I’ve put thousands of dollars in the game and never had anywhere near close to that in gems.
What happens when your champion list is full but a new champion drops after clearing a campaign fight? Do you just lose it or is it stored somewhere?

Absolutely. Commonly farmed levels can use those rares as food cuz u should already have 1 maxed etc.
Well I haven't maxed them yet I'm a fairly new player only 2 lvl 60s so far 1st was executioner fully ascended lvl 16 gears for farming then kael fully ascended lvl 16 gear for arena and cb. I just figured these heroes are so easy to get since in always farming 12 If I do need them I will get them pretty easily

hahaha im laughing my ass off at errol as food, i almost did the same thing, he was my 3rd legendary right after i got septimus, from what i can tell is a FAR superior at single target dmg, im aslo relatively new to the game, i took advantage of a 2x blue shard event and my sacred shard for getting all stars on normal was Scyl of the drakes, so i think ive been fairly luck because she cleared all stars on all difficulties in a couple days for me, BUT i had too much to work on and no clue what i was doing....i guess even longer story short i ALMOST fed him, im still kinda thinking about it from time to time lol but i have not
