I tried Tempurpedic, Casper, and one other bed, then I found out Sam's carried the Serta SleepToGo. I've tried Tempurpedic 4 times and hated it every time. Didn't like Casper at all. First night on the Serta and I knew it wasn't going back. I've had it almost a year and still look forward to bed at night. Nice doing the blind review!

We just recently ordered a similar mattress from Overstock for about the same pricing. Two weeks in and we absolutely love it! That house/yard is so adorable.
We got a Casper because it was rated as no 1 with Consumers report. Also, it was from Costco (so easy return). We returned the Casper. It was too hard and not comfortable after THREE months trial. Just got the money back. Now we’re back to ground zero.
Um, I'm a little jealous also. I'm glad I watched and when the time comes I will definitely look into Serta. Thank you and Have a Wonderful Weekend : )
I’m in the process of looking for a bed and came across this video after watching the inkwell walls video! First of all, I thought you were doing the split screen refined Mary Elizabeth and the other side crazy Mary Elizabeth. Come to find out it wasn’t you 😁 but your friend! The resemblance is insane how much you two look alike...well I think I’m going to get that serta bed in a box...because of this video! It’s been 3 months so the question now would be, “does she still like it?!” Lmk!
OK, this subject broaches mattress care and maintenance. Mattresses get, well, to put it in classic terms, grody. Skin cells, dust mites, that sweaty nightmare night, spills? Amirite? In addition, I have a foot injury I've been healing, and early on, I saturated bandages in the middle of the night, and stained my mattress cover with some blood. Gasp! Stains all over the foot of my mattress. And, when I took the sheets off the bed, I also noticed the cover was 'wrinkled', bunched a little where I sleep. The cover looked sloppy on that side. Soooo, I flipped the mattress off the frame, found the zipper, and peeled the cover off, the bottom cover, which isn't reversible, it's just to hold the cover on the mattress, zips completely off, and took the cover over to my classic agitator washing machine (large capacity), sprayed the stains with a Spray and Wash type of treatment, stuffed it in, set it for an extended wash COLD cycle, and ran it. Then a trip through the dryer, since we can't air-dry on a line around here, plus the sub-freezing temperatures make that a 'no', then I sat down and reattached the bottom of the cover I took it into the bedroom, and reinstalled the cover on the mattress. It helps to have help doing this, since some squeezing is in order to get the mattress zipped back into the cover. But when it was done, and the mattress was back on the frame, guess what? It looked and felt like a brand new bed! No more stains, no more old skin and sweat, and no major expense or extra equipment needed. Try that with some of your fancy innerspring mattresses! We're humans, we exude things, and that can leave mattresses looking like bad things happened here. Isn't it nice to be able to address that?
what a fun thing to get to test. and i'm glad ariana has finally gotten a new bed. $500 seems appropriate for this type of mattress. frankly many of them veering towards the thousand $ mark seems silly. moving [hopefully soon] and want to get this lighter type bed. just putting sheets on my behemoth of a mattress is a challenge................question, does one need a boxspring?
It's crazy, right? I agree! With $500, one should be able to get a great, quality mattress! Afterall, I need money for that bed & bedding! hahaha. You don't need a boxspring if your bed doesn't require it. I actually have a queen mattress in my living room I need to donate now. As soon as I got my platform bed, I swapped it out!
good to know. yes i'm getting a tatami style low platform [so the cat can't get underneath] thanks for the quick response......................btw, you two girls are great together! serta should hire you guys for a national ad.
I have a standard metal bedframe for mine, since it's a queen, I went and bought a half dozen 1"x6"x10' standard boards, cut them in half, and used them to make a slat platform for my mattress. The frame needs to have a center support bar, though, or the slats will bend in the middle, which can have unpleasant results.
Whaaaat it's so cheap! After your initial Casper video I was obsessed with the mattress in a box! I got myself a Layla and I love it. But the Serta sounds amazing and is also cheaper than mine!
The mattress in a box is cool! I can't believe how inexpensive the Serta is. This video was super fun for me to film. I've never done anything like this, and it was super informative actually -- even just my part of opening the box -- there was a big difference right away. We have a Casper....we have a California King. It took I think, 24 hrs to open up. It came rolled up like a rug.. we love it.. It is so freaking comfortable and firm..we honestly love it. Sorry you didn't.
