I was one of those metalheads who only listened to thrash, death and black, I thought I was rude just for listening to those genres (what a big falsehood). When I first discovered nightwish it was in 2004 I was 12 years old and I didn't pay much attention to them, but I did consider that Tarja's voice was unique, and it is, but I continued with my same philosophy of not listening to other styles, but when I listened for first time to FLOOR with nightwish at wacken 2013 without knowing that tarja was gone, I was captivated forever with FLOOR and WITH NIGHTWISH and symphonic metal, I love FLOOR and consider nightwish one of my favorites. Listening to FLOOR changes your life and the perspective of music in all its scope, thank you for existing FLOOR JANSEN and thank you NIGHTWISH for changing my life.
I'm kind of the same. I knew of them and had them on my hard drive but only added the odd song to random playlists until for some reason I happened on it recently and now I'm addicted. The new lineup is legendary. I hope they will build on this now.

Similar story. I saw them in wacken either 99 or 00, dont remenember. I knew them by that time, i liked oceanborn. But i have always been and still am a extreme metalhead so i lost interest on them. After 20 years, avoiding them in concerts and festivals (just had better plans to do, just no interest) i am re-discoverying them and enjoying a lot. As you get older you dont give a damm about what people think or being true or shit like that. I just got shivers and bumps, thats the impotant. I have been a whole week surronding by nightwish ambient all over the place. Amazing feelings in different ways. Thats the main point in metal: you have millions of different genres and styles just in extreme music and sometimes listen to a different thing make the impact and contrast bigger and deeper. But i am sure i will need some agressive vibe and blastbeats at some point. Just a matter of time.

Wacken 2013 cemented Floor's legacy with Nightwish. Live at Wembley and Tempere showed she "owned" Nightwish. Cannot stop listening to her singing...it's like crack.

Buenos Aires 2012, and particularly Ghost Love Score from, was the point where Floor knew she had absolutely nailed that performance and had been accepted by the fans.

i had the privilege of being at this performance. the moment poet and the pendulum started, i turned to my best friend and we both started bawling. this band is out of this world.

I had the same experience at Wacken 2013...this concert changed a lot. I knew Floor from After Forever but with Nightwish she is a giant with her voice.

same here, listening to nightwish since "wishmaster" came out and stopped right in the "end of an era" dvd. Came back with the Wacken 13 and UOW Floor saved the band.
After Tarja's departure, I hadn't been listening NW much, until recently a friend put me onto Nightwish 3.0 with Floor. And OMG, what a combination! Floor's voice, vocal range, and diverse singing style from operatic to rock are just INCREDIBLE! Tuomas' epic music, the band members' virtuosic performance, and Floor's angelic voice is the best combination ever -- what I call Nightwish 3.0 :-)

It's always lovely to see how Emppu casually approaches his band mates to give a little touch/tap on their arms, shoulders, even sometimes chat with them while playing on stage like nothing happened :)
In Poet and the Pendulum, he approaches Tuomas to ask if he's okay, knowing that it is a very emotional song for him. For the same reason, giving support, Emppu and Marko go to stand close to Tuomas at the end of the song.
Unbelievable, I had the luck to see Nightwish on November 19th in Oberhausen, unbelievable. Perfect from the first second on. Nightwish was always a very good band, but with Floor Tuomas found the perfect woman to express his emotions on stage.
I was extremely sour when Tarja left, and never liked Annette. I saw Floor in concert, and omg you are right. She is Nightwish!

To be fair: I think Annette was pretty good on CD. She had a different stile of singing, but it is extremly hard to replace a worldclass operatic singer who likes to perform metal. So a change in stile could have been expected.
I saw Annette twice live. Once at Rock am Ring 2008isch where the technicians f***ed the show up and once again, where I couldn't find any excuses for her liveperformances.
That's fair. I saw Annette once in a show in Kiev in 2012, and I loved the show, but I just did not like her delivery of Nightwish classics. She is too "pop".

I cant get over how Jukka is such a wild man on drums at Wacken 2013, he bounces around, up and down all night, completely spent at the end of the concert. Then here is Kia, a rock in place. Doesn't move much just steady as anyone can be, but just beat the hell out of the skins and makes it look like nothing!! Yet, he also leaves everything on stage as well. He is a drumming god!!! Nightwish finds the best in their fields and that person makes them even better as band, if that could even be possible. I hope Jukka has gotten over his insomnia and gets back out on the road again!! I would love to see him play again.
Unfortunately Jukka said he won't come back to the drums. It's a pity because I loved his drumming. But still, nightwish now also have one of the best drummers around.

Man I really miss Jukka! Don't get me wrong, Kai is a technical beast, but he really lacks the showmanship, energy and power on stage that Jukka brings!
I love them both. Jukka was (is) a really great drummer AND a showman, but man, Kai is like a human metronome. His double bass drum parts are insane. For me it's impossible to pick a favourite (luckily I don't have to).
What I do find interesting is to know how much of what they do is coming from Tuomas. He could write and/or 'demand' certain rhythms for his compositions, especially on parts where he wants the kick drums to accentuate certain notes, or where he wants the snare to be etcetera, but off course it's highly unlikely that Tuomas ever actually really wrote down the drum parts. So most of the ideas when it comes to the drum parts will have been 'written' by Jukka and Kai. Listening to Kai's songs (the ones he recorded) are just as impressive as Jukka's imho. But since Jukka is still a part of the organization, could it possibly be that Jukka plays the demo versions for Kai to work these out? I know it's a silly thought, but it's not unthinkable. :-)
Six weeks ago I accidentally discovered Nightwish. They've quickly become my favorite band and I don't see this changing anytime soon. For someone who has been obsessed with all types of music since the age of 3, I can tell you crowning a band my favorite is rare. I've had the same one (Heart) for four decades! I'm still baffled why I hadn't heard of Nightwish before. Shame on their marketing people. If they need help promoting the next release and tour I'm available lol!
Nothing against the previous two singers but I'm so happy my first exposure to them was with Floor Jansen. Not since Heart's early days listening to the incredible Ann Wilson, have I been so impressed with a female singer or any singer (male or female). Floor is the most versatile singer I've ever heard. She can literally do it all. So much charisma on stage, endless stamina as well as vocal control. From what I've seen, Nightwish shows are incredibly challenging for their vocalist. You have to be not only gifted but in shape vocally and physically to perform and perform well. The Wacken '13 show, for example, was incredible. It's difficult for a new singer to step in and do perform another singer's songs well. Floor did all those songs justice and in many cases (IMHO) took them to another level. The first time I watched this show I was exhausted from just watching. Don't remember an instance when she looked out of breath.
I agree with many of the comments here, this show is all about Floor. She is Nightwish. Breaks my heart to think she almost quit music many years ago. That would have been tragic. So happy she's found her forever home. It's obvious the guys love her. Clearly, most old school Nightwish fans love her too. How could you not? She's ridiculously talented. Over and above the talent is how humble she is. As some have mentioned, when it's time for other band members to shine, she backs off.
Floor and Marko sound phenomenal together. I could listen to them all day they sound so good. The band as an entirety are without a doubt the most talented band I've ever heard. Each member is a master craftsman. Together, magic! Tuomas is simply a genius. There is no other word to describe him that does him justice. Almost every song he's written is a masterpiece.
I am so looking forward to Nightwish's second release with Floor. EFMB was amazing but I have a feeling with one Nightwish release under her belt, Floor is going to supersede everything she's ever done before!

I always thought Tarja is irreplaceable. But how wrong was i ? OMG look at that Intro Floor did for Alpenglow (52:01) as if she is asking her critics "HOW ABOUT THAT" with her talent & shows. I really loved the way she introduced Troy's Bag pipe 28:19. Amazing the way she carries the songs on her shoulders. Glad the geniuses of Nightwish just found Floor. But, Tarja, you will always be the Siren of Nightwish. Thank you for your wonderful voice. You will be missed even we feel awed while getting floored by Floor Jensen. I am soooooo excited for the future of this band.
I've been listening to nightwish since i was 12 years old in 2001. Nemo was the first song i've ever heard and man was i in love it from the start. Tarja is an incredibly good singer she will always have that special feeling she gave me, u can imagine i was very upset when she left the band(got kicked) then Annette came. although i like the songs she sang on the Dark passion Play album, it wasnt as nightwish as i had hoped it would have been. dont get me wrong also Annette is a very good singer and i like her voice, Then i heard that halfway the imeaginerum tour on the US. Annette left the band duo personal circumstances. and that Floor was asked to stand in for the rest of the tour/ Now I am dutch and ive been listening to floor and her band after forever aswell, and ive followed everything they did. and of- course the burnout she had after the ending of after forever. i was very upset about that aswell but then that magical phonecall came. i knew then that i had to see her and my first show with her as the new singer was at wacken. man what a show. Floor is where she needs to be, and nightwish has their forever front woman.

I consider myself to be among the more privileged humans to have seen this amazing band 3 times in concert. They are so awesome to see live. I really have to shake my head as to why they are not as popular in the US. The good thing about them performing in smaller venues is that you can be much closer to the band. Last time I was 2 rows back from Empu and Troy on the decades tour and they were the only band (no opener) and they played for a solid 2 hours. Going to a concert is great, but seeing Nightwish live is like a religious experience. I think history will be kind to Tuomas recognizing him as a great poet. Come on guys hurry up with the new album and set some tour dates in the US!

Marketing in the US is different than in Europe. They aren't actually doing ANYTHING to market themselves in the US. The US fan base is increasing somewhat by word of mouth on CZcams, but unless they do nationally broadcast shows in the US, nobody is going to hear of them.

Floor is such a BEAST on the stage. She has control over all the stage, band, audience. Her voice is incredible powerful and it's enjoing to listening her and whole band. This is one of the best music performances i have listened so far in my life.

'Empty Hope' really comes alive here. After all the smiles and sing-along of 'Shudder', Floor suddenly becomes a ferocious valkyrie and the band swings into full attack mode.

It's a really great list. And Shudder Before the Beautiful is such a bold choice for an opening song. That song has a very "late in the show when the audience has been pumped up for an hour" energy, kinda like Last Ride of the Day. Opening with that kid of song is just saying "Strap in, we're about to go HARD."

That was a powerful and magical show from Nightwish. The Vehicle Of Spirit DVD/Blu-ray Editions so beautiful (especially the Earbook Edition with so many photos).
The Wembley Arena and the Tampere Show so awesome and pure magic. Great songs from the Endless Forms Most Beautiful Tour and some golden oldie Nightwish songs with many-many extras.
Floor rules the full stage with full of energy, with dancing moves, small theatrical gestures and communication with the audience. This woman is a pure magic and gift for humanity.
Floor have a beautiful heart and soul! I love this woman. Her voice, performance, femininity, presence, style... all of them!
I really hope Floor will singing for so many years for us (and Nightwish too). Floor deserve every support, love, appreciation and respect!

I only discovered Nightwish and Floor 12 months or so ago after being pestered to have a listen to them, so I did not expect to like what I heard ("The Poet and the Pendulum" Wembley) but OMG I was blown away and haven't stopped listening since, soaking up everything from the wonderful Tarja and Annette eras and now the incomparable Floor, particularly live. Nightwish is now my Number 1 band. 🙏😊👍❤️

If I can only tell you the amount of dreams i had with that crazy hot movement of her and her sutile but gracefull dancing. That woman is the meaning of perfection.
Alas the cameraman of Ms. Jensen hardly has a good view of her. While all the other band-members are zoomed in-and-out all the time, she is framed above the shoulder most of the time. The guy usually peeps her from behind a monitor-speaker, or some other staff. Once or twice he happens to get a good glimpse, but then it is the director who cuts away quickly.

And Troy is also a very good part of the band in some songs and with Floor Marco has become incredibly good as a vocal partner.
I can't be the only person who thinks Floor's windmills are sexy as hell!? And its not just because a female is headbanging ... no it is because you have this immense talent, powerful warrior vibe that just oozes sexy when she does it. If she couldn't sing like a goddess or be as humble/cool as she is, I wouldn't get the same vibe.

Tuomas is a fuckin genius. He put music and science together. Who else would bring richard to a show? Amazing.
Floor. What a BEAST. She commands the stage. Apart from the voice, haven''t seen such engaging and artful headbanging since Paul Masvidal in Lack of Comprehension 1991.....
I've had 3 favorite bands in my life ... April Wine in the 70's early 80's... Queen mid 80's to 00's and now Nightwish... Phenomenal band and deserving of all the international success they are sure to achieve!!... And very much team Floor ..

Floor is incredible vocalist the best. Yes.
Troy is a great musician and a very good addition to Nightwish.
Emppu is a great guitar player and have such a incredible presence you always looking for him to see what he’s doing.
Marko is everything. Her voice is unreal and he can do whatever he wants to and more, an incredible songwriter.
And our dear god Tuomas is a freaking genius, everything he does is a masterpiece and sometimes he simply goes beyond that giving us something that we cannot compare to nothing.
That’s how I see nightwish today.

I have been discovering nightwish for the last month or so and what an incredible Discovery it has been. It is like learning to appreciate music all over again. The most amazing thing about them is that they have no weak points. The composition, execution, and production are the absolute top end for any genre of music. I would score them at 99 out of 100, only taking one point off for the fact that I can only experience them for the first time once. I'm sure it won't be easy but I hope they can find an adequate replacement for Marko and carry on into this decade. And hopefully I will get a chance to see them live before I croak because I am pretty sure that their shows will be sold out in Valhalla.

so floor can hit every single note that tarja could hit flawlessley, she adds her spins on the best of their back catalogue and she can growl with the best of them is there anything she can't do?
I was going to say fail, but she did that once too. She might just have it all.
It's a bit weird listening to Floor singing two Tarja's songs honestly, I love Floor, she's arguably the best vocalist in metal at the moment but I didn't really like Stargazers and Ever Dream.

Damn it ... every.single.time. i cry at the final part of The Poet And The Pendulum. We all established that Floor is a Goddess, not a mere mortal and probably that's why her voice controls your emotions so well.

What's the average amount of picks that Emppu throws out to the audience in any given concert? Among all of his other mannerisms, he certainly is the comic relief of the group.

i was front row at a nightwish show in frankfurt, 2018. I was right in fornt of him, he threw 5 picks that concert (exluding end of the show picks)

Nightwish loves their fans, and the fans love Nightwish. And Queen Floor the Valkyrie Nordic Sorceress Goddess, has them all under her control, as it should be. Fantastic.
After watching this and the amazing Wacken 2013 concert, I'm torn which one is better. While the Wacken concert was gobsmackingly spectacular, this show's addition of The Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth swing this concert into epic territory. They're both phenomenal.

Wacken 13 is godly-level but this comes close, it even contains the 3 most epic long songs from them (GLS, PatP, GSoE). Amazing concert.
Back again, I can't get enough of this group. Floor is an addiction! One I'm always happy to feed.

I've liked Nightwish for several years, with several tracks on my playlist, but I never really appreciated them until I tuned into this gig...What a concert and what a voice Floor has!!...and gorgeous too. She's certainly the whole package. What a tight band...and I'm only up to Poet and the Pendulum 😏. I can't wait for the rest of the concert...Every track is a classic!!
Dang. "Take the road less traveled" just literally brought me to tears. I've listened to this concert multiple times before... but today I needed to hear that.
I wish I felt as happy as all of Nightwish look all the way thru this concert, especially Floor, she’s loving every minute, can tell they truly love what they do and all the little interactions together, this is what a band is supposed to look like.
After watching this video since it was released over a year ago, I still find myself watching it once every couple of days. It's my second favorite live concert of theirs, but I really just can't get enough.
I never get tired of listening to this band! The guys are top notch musicians and Floor is just plain beyond words of description. Hope to see them in the States soon!
I cant sit still for 2 hours...Nightwish performs 2 hours while performing so many challanging songs for all members of band. Still cant belive what Floor did on LIGHT THE FIRE FEAST and WE WERE HERE out of this world :O !

I had not heard of Nightwish or Floor until a year ago. I've been blown away by them eversince particularly so with the incomparable Floor. Jeff Lynne and E.L.O. my favourites for 45 now have a sibling. What a concert this is with arguably the best show opener ever. 🙏❤️😊

The greatest show on earth.... Man that is a piece of beauty, I dare to say is Nightwish finest moment, that song have and got to be one of the greatest thing ever written or compose, an incredible piece of music and they way they deliver it live is plain amazing. Indeed they are one of the greatest show on earth.
The Tampere live version is also pure gold with fireworks, more pyros and bigger venue.

Can't believe it's been so long since I've seen them!! Have been to so many gigs since Number of the Beast in 82. POWERSLAVE in 85 and maybe Dio Dream Evil come close but this was the most amazing gig I think I've ever had the pure pleasure to be at. Was so gutted to miss 2022 gigs but just couldn't get there. The Queen of rock....'nuff said!
