    The Hyundai HYSC1500E is a 1500W electric scarifier, aerator and lawn rake that has a 36cm width deck, 45 litre moss and grass collection bag. It is supplied with a 15-metre power cable, 5 cutting heights, 3-point folding handles and 3-year domestic warranty.
    It was great to finally get my hands on the Hyundai HYSC1500E and produce this, and my accompanying video, review. My lawn in the front garden was in need of some TLC and what better way to do this than using, the new to the market in 2022, electric lawn scarifier from Hyundai.
    It’s one thing to keep your lawn mowed and neat, but what about what lies beneath? Regularly raking, scarifying and aerating will ensure that your lawn remains much healthier as water can drain more easily and the soil can ‘breathe.’ The scarifying process removes thatch from your lawn, and therefore removes the ideal environment for the moss to thrive.
    In this Hyundai HYSC1500E review, I’ll be running you through the main features and helping you decide whether this is the right electric tool for you.
    Key Features:
    36cm aerating / scarifying / raking width

    10m power cable

      Thanks for your positive comments. This is truly a great machine for smaller lawns and the results speak for themselves.

    Notice the back wheels aren't moving the majority of the time. Because of where the handle bar is mounted, it's causing you to lift up the machine when you push it. Also throughout you can see the machine is choppy and isn't smooth while pushing. This is because the front housing of the machine is catching and scraping the lawn. If you adjust the height to go higher then you're reducing the depth of the blades that can cut into the soil.
    From experience i know the issues above is very common and usually unavoidable because of the limited choice in design. This machine have big spoked wheels which is really nice, it will help prevent thatch and moss clogging getting them stuck. I would say this is the better one for the price on the current market.

      Hi Laura. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I think I should have adjusted the handles down a little to reduce the “lift” at the back of the machine. Anyway, I was so impressed with the results. I now have a robotic mower on the lawn and it looks great and is less spongy and more level. Thanks again. Mark

    I agree about the grass collector...
    One question I would like to ask.. I bought one of these last week and I notice in the video that you started scarifying with the collector on but finished it with the collector off the unit.
    Was there a reason for this.. I have tried scarifying with the collector on and to be honest its hopeless... clogging up and having to be emptied very regularly.

    • @EasyLawnMowing
      @EasyLawnMowing  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi David
      Yes exactly that. The collection box kept filling up too quickly and I found myself stopping every minute. The hard work is actually scarifying the lawn and this machine does all that work. I just found it quicker to rake up the debris once the job was done.
      How is your lawn looking? mine took some time to recover due to the dry weather we have been having.
      Thanks
      Mark

      @@EasyLawnMowing I used the scarifier twice and the amount of rubbish that came out of the lawn was ridiculous. I used the unit on 3mm depth but I found it was making a screaming noise, like a slipping fan belt. Got in touch with the suppliers and they have took the unit back to investigate. So good aftersales.

    Did you mow the lawn before you ran the scarifier? The lawn looks quite long, making it more difficult for the scarifier than it had to be?

    • @EasyLawnMowing
      @EasyLawnMowing  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes I did cut the lawn before scarifying, but you are right it could have been shorter, making the process that bit easier.

  • @Fatjack-jy8gs

    Thanks for this video. I was thinking of buying one but not now. It is clear that the handle hankered too far forward. The rear wheels are not turning because they do not make a sound contact with the ground. Some material is being brought up but some places seem to be missed out. I was expecting to see lines where the rotating blades scarified but that was not in evidence or if it was I could not see it. If the grass had been cut before hand would this machine have made a better job of it? Thanks for a great demo but no thanks Mr. Hyundai I will find a different machine.

    • @EasyLawnMowing
      @EasyLawnMowing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi Thanks for your comment. Yes the lawn should have been cut before hand. The machine was used again on both my front and rear lawns a couple of weeks ago, and we managed to fill 4 large garden bags with moss and thatch. It's not to say that a heavier petrol model would give a deeper aeration, but this Hyundai does definitely work and does help as the lawn is looking so much better now.

      I had a moss ridden lawn for years, which is now virtually moss free. I bought this machine and applied Vitax No Rake Mosskiller a couple of times. Brilliant result. The moss doesn't go black and unsightly and is turned into food for the grass to grow. Aerating and scarifying before and after applying keeps it in great condition. I also feed it with a bag 6X Natural Fibrous Fertiliser.

    Quick question I have clay soil 208 square metres looking at getting one of these, but not too sure whether to get the electric one or the heavier petrol one. I feel as clay soil can be quite hard at times. Maybe the petrol may be a better option as it has more power? thoughts please?

    • @EasyLawnMowing
      @EasyLawnMowing  Před rokem

      Hi Obi, for 208 msq I would still go for the electric scarifier. If you are looking for deeper aeration then the petrol would do a better and easier job, but is a little bit big/heavy for your sized lawn, plus you have all the maintenance and fuel of the petrol, for something you are going to use twice a year. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions. Mark

    I’ve got the 1800W machine. It’s very powerful, but the offset on the scarifying blades is too narrow - shame as it’s spoiled an otherwise good machine.

    • @EasyLawnMowing

      Anywhere on the wall where you have enough space and can easily access. In terms of the height line up the scarifier first to ensure it has enough clearance from the floor but is also easy to lift off.

    I really don't know why companies bother putting collectors on these machines? If you are in need of such a machine, there is a good chance you have a decent size lawn and the collector will fill up in a couple of minutes. Even if you rake or scarify a couple of times a year.

    • @roger4880
      @roger4880 Před rokem

      @@EasyLawnMowing I can hear the motor struggling throughout, and scalping is a good idea to reset the crown height, during over seeding or renovation work like level adjustments. You have a lot of junk in that lawn because of the way it is maintained.
