- Angelina is our deaf little girl with cochlear implants. When we learned of her diagnosis just after she was born, we began incorporating ASL in addition with planning for cochlear implant surgery. We wanted her to have the best of both worlds.
This weekend, we took Little Angelina, her brother and sister to Disney's Hollywood Studios and were surprised when we were told that two First Order Stormtroopers wanted to meet her.
Little did we know what they had planned.
the fact that i recently learned sign language i feel proud to understand what was he trying to say. he asked her name, and then he said my name is trooper

It's actually super-duper against the rules to break character.
However, I feel like if Disney deducted pay or fired this guy for "breaking character to sign to a deaf girl" they'd get a lot of negative media attention.
This made my mean cold heart melt that storm trooper for a villain is a hero in my book I Wana buy him or her a drink an shake their hand 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️ we need these kind of people in the world so much these days ❤️❤️❤️ love it

Knowing a form of language Is not that special.
@@spectralmuffin6487 Knowing multiple languages (esp. at a good enough level to be able to communicate fluently) is pretty special. Besides, it's not just about knowing the language, it's about being kind to a disabled kid & letting them have a special moment that they'll remember for a very long time. This is a lovely little interaction that made a lot of people happy. Don't be so negative.
@@Cathee.M. not just the kid. But as a parent they'll remember this for some time. Must be nice to be reminded that your child will be doing allright even after you're gone because there are good people out there.

He’s not the only one. There was even a Stormtrooper that let a GROWN person put a toy on top of his head. 😆 It was hilarious and cute too.
This stromtrooper hit every mark, by going out of his way to make this little one happy. An accommodation from Lord Vader is in order. And Lord Vader is extremely pleased from this trooper of his 501st Imperial Legion.
Disney park actors are truly amazing people.

It's kind of sad how the stormtrooper seemed kind of scared, telling his supervisor and the parents to be quiet about this interaction. They should be allowed to break character for moments like these, without being scared of any repercussions

@@Lasgoo yeah people with these types of jobs (mascot-type jobs) need to act out specific interactions with civilians, which have already been planned out by their supervisor.
@@frenlyneybur7544 I'm fairly certain there's a certain amount of leeway though. Especially when it comes to interactions like this. If the trooper had ignored her or rebuffed this sort of interaction, it would have reflected badly on a company that is meant to be, first and foremost, inclusive of all children. Not to mention that its interactions like these that totally make the visitor experience complete. This is a family who would definitely go back, knowing that they are being acknowledged and accepted.
Pretty sure the woman who held the blaster is their character wrangler and it was approved. This is part of the full experience for special kids of all kinds that Disney is known for.
You are correct. While we were walking through that section of Hollywood Studios, one of the Disney employees approached my wife and I and asked if we could wait for a few as they said "one of the Stormtroopers" wanted to meet our daughter. They noticed my little girl while we walked through seeing the sites.

Nah, I think it’s rather that silent communication is an advantageous skill to have in combat. Even IRL there are certain signs people use commonly in combat. This guy just took extra training because he was that good. ;-)
