yep this is where you find out how you get that tailgate off with the rear camera and the wiring harness and the torsion bar and all the other stuff in these new tailgates.
Very helpful! Perfect 👌 thank you. This is the only video that talks about the torsion bar and to lift it up to get it to release! Glad you're here to help me out
This is the video I need. Now I have the 2020 ZR2 Bison but it has the camera and just added the lock so two fires to disconnect. I don't get the 80 degrees and push toward passenger. I get it to 80 degrees and then there is no give toward passenger (or driver). What am I doing wrong or is the 2020 different
late to the party.. but thanks! If you know ... what is the weight restriction on the tailgate? Want to load my bike on a ramp but want to know if I should take out the tailgate....
My wiring harness looks nothing like this. 2020 Trail Boss. I figured out 1 part (camera disconnect)but no idea how to get the auto latch electronics apart. And the tailgat....ha! Fergetaboutit.
I’ve seen five different videos and each one has a different wiring harness for the exact same truck. How did General Motors get away with putting different wiring harnesses on the same truck?

Would rather watch it done. There is a video out there that show it being done. Kind of helpful thanks.

Is there anything to watch out for with the torsion bar when you put it back on? Any special technique to getting it lined back up?
other than being a Major P.I.T.A., nah, just make sure it fishes through the bumper cleanly.
How do you remove the button/camera tailgate panel on a 2019 Silverado? It appears mine is not attached correctly from the factory.
Never had one apart, I'd assume you get at it from behind? Removing the panel on the inside of the gate?

Yeah, I agree it's not a very good design. I imagine they're counting on most people never taking their tailgates off

Different specs/options would dictate wiring harness differences.
I heard GMC canyon is on same chaise as a Colorado?
Same assembly line too, literally identical under the body with different badging...
How do you undo the wearing harness on the tailgate
It's up underneath the truck, under rear of the bed floor...
How about removing a multi-flex tail gate??
sawzall. f that tailgate.
Because I have one in my tail lights are not the same
huh?
What about when the red tab breaks off?
Silverado???? Not easy
Are you sure your truck is 2019
positive. or the vin number is wrong..
Be easier to actually watch u do it
The video is sideways.
as am I...
Take the tailgate off
Dude, it's such a hassle. I nearly took a sawzall to that truck
