Once a common pollution incident has been detected (such as a sewer overflow) does the Environment Agency conduct a multi pronged approach to determine the extent of the damage to the ecosystem?
Not just counting dead fish numbers and reporting on that, but a full eco system count starting from the base and working the way up the food chain, Phytoplankton, Zooplankton, Invertebrate's, Fish, Plant Life, Local birds species (king fisher/coots etc) Migratory bird species.
Does the environment agency calculate the time frame from a single pollution incident to the eco system having full health regeneration?
What is that time frame? 6 months - 18 months?
Are those reports published to the public?
Love the work guys-girls, keep it up.
