@@StandardsFC No ‘pal’.. you’re a bozo brit who listens to Paul Merson mispronounce every word while also saying it’s the best league 35 times an episode on Sky Sports Saturday. Standard was average across the board, just a couple of big money teams at the top.. sound familiar?
@@Capo_Renzo sounds like every other league across the world. The top doesnt make the premier league the best....its the overall quality of the league that makes it the best (7th-20th). I am a football fan first that watches a ton of football across all leagues. Id say premier league is most entertaining, la liga is the most technical, Serie A most tactical, bundesliga is fast paced, high line football. Each league has their perk.
Brilliant upload. Such great memories of this period. I' m a southerner who was at uni up in Manchester and me and my housemates would never miss match of the day. If we were out on the piss on Saturday then we'd get up hungover Sunday morning and watch it. All of us from different parts of the country all supporting different clubs. So much banter around the breakfast table. Great times.
Manchester City's last season before they won the Abu Dhabi lottery. In fact, the last game they played before being taken over by the Abu Dhabi lot was an 8-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.........
It wasn't actually. City were taken over on deadline day and had played 3 games of 08/09 before the takeover. Also you can say they won the lottery but the club was also saved as the previous owner had just had his assets frozen by the Thai government so they were on the clock to possibly sink back down the league
Difference between club management and international management. We've seen class domestic managers completely flop on the international stage. One of Southgate's predecessors for one. Also what happened at Boro wasn't his fault. Gibson didn't back him and sold all their better players. And he was sacked in the championship when they were doing well and only 2 points off the top of the table. They failed to get anywhere close to that or promotion for another 5 years after Southgate despite spending.
It's 2023 - I might've watched this in 2008 but I certainly don't remember. League leaders? Who cares. There's only one question on my mind: Are Spurs playing and will they bottle it?
It used to be good being a united fan 🥲. Never appreciated a front 2 of tevez and ronaldo. In hindsight…insane. Really like the non VAR era too. Purely because you’re allowed to celebrate goals, nowadays you have to wait for VAR checks and by the time they’re done it’s just a mellow yay.
What an era of prem football. Remember this intro like it was yesterday
Toilet era.. few lucky runs in Europa.. distinctively average

Alan “in the back of the net” Hansen is truly missed as a motd pundit
" you'll never win anything with kids "
Hang on. At the minute everyone hates pundits
Fabregas, Flamini, Rosicky, Hleb. great midfield

Rob Green what a woeful keeper
Worst Keeper of all time
He was actually solid. Until that goal Vs the USA. Completely destroyed his confidence. Was the same with Paul Robinson with his mistake in Croatia
And michael dawson. Awful defender

Arsenal top but never win it
Eduardo's injury ruined their season.
Middlesborough. Couldn’t fill their stadium even in the premier league 😂
27:00 terrible England manager
"I think Birmingham will be ok..." - Errr how is BEING RELEGATED ok???🙄
They got relegated in the 2011-12 but sadly for them never came back to the Premier league after getting relegated.
@@DFandV 2010/2011 I'm afraid
I thought they'd stay up too tbf but Fulham had that amazing late run of form
