- Tonight, I shared 10 different embossing looks including tone-on-tone, how to mix powders to get multi-colored looks, heat embossing in ANY color, black embossing with no flecks and a couple of ways to use embossing folders too. Silver and gold sofisticated and elegant
Hi guys I love using embossing powder and showed my son how it works- he's in his 30's- and he was so intrigued by it he actually did a greeting in a card for his mate's birthday card! I am in Australia so rarely get to see any "live" videos - replay for me but I love them. So a big "Thank you" for them all and the calming strumming from Tom as well. This episode has brought back so many special memories. 36 years ago, I went to a beginning stamping class and the minute that Holly used the ink and powder to emboss a floral image: I was hooked to stamping for life! I went on to work and teach at the same store. Every time I turned on the heat gun to show someone how to emboss was magical. I would be surrounded by stampers who wanted to share that moment. No matter how many times we had watched it or done it ourselves, it was always special. I just pulled out my gold pad and will play with my toys tomorrow.

Gina, FYI, you mentioned cleaning your stamps with a toothbrush and Dawn dish soap. I just wanted to share with you that my dermatologist forbids me to use Dawn as "it's too drying, cuts the grease and body oils too well." Recommends Palmolive. (Even Madge recommends- old commercial) A tip to those with psoriasis or eczema. So over time I imagine it'd be too drying to use on the acrylic, polymer and photopolymer stamps. I would recommend the "grease cutter" to clean the stamps if they're losing their clinginess/sticking ability. (Don't forget to keep them out of UV/sun light.)

@@craftqueen417 no, the grease cutter being Dawn dish soap to only clean if you need to reactivate the grippiness of the stamps but not as a stamp cleaner on a daily basis, or frequently. Use Palmolive instead it's not as drying.
I am so thankful you showed us white on white embossing. I don't have those stamps but I plan to use what I have. I watch all the time. I've learned so much!❤

Had fun, great vid!!! Have to buy the little stamp. I love that stamp. It's my kind of stamp! OMG!!! I cracked up at swifter duster & had to run to the bathroom! I just use a small stream of 70% alcohol. Cleans everything up right quick. Dang it, I wanted to see the white pigment & white embossing powder. Tom walked into that one!🙂I am so glad you did the 2 colors because I have always wanted to do it but did not know I could without heating one at a time. Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all

I love the gold and silver together, absolutely gorgeous.
Last year I made about 200 embossed Christmas cards using the holiday tapestry stamp for the local Cards 4 Charity initiative. So pretty and quick to do. Silver on teal made stunning cards.

It's our 25th anniversary this year. They haven't been perfect but they have worked for us! Now i have ideas for cards! I'm thinking a liquid platinum powder image of a motorcycling going across a brushed silver card. It's swimming around in my head and I'm going to add it to my card idea booklet. The backgrounds are gorgeous!

Wow! Watched this on rewatch and Holy mackerel, chocked full with inspiration and techniques. Gina, my goodness, you are such a wonderful instructor and make things seem actually doable for a relatively new card maker as myself. I am so inspired to get to it with the Holiday Tapestry folder and stamp set that I purchased last year but illness kept me from using for my 2022 Christmas cards. Watching your replay and I love this technique. I had to agree about the new years card idea. I actually send out Halloween, thanksgiving, Christmas and new years cards each year (as well as other holidays). I send about 25 for each occasion. Last year I did all silver and gold for new years, and everyone absolutely loved those. Even better than some of the Christmas cards too! LoL I just love your crafternoons! ❤

I lost my heat gun so I haven't done heat embossing in quite a while. Well, going through a box last week, totally unrelated to cards, I found my heat gun! Now I'm sure this has never happened to any of you. 🙄 But, now I can do some of these techniques again. I'm on the waiting list for the silver card stock. I have plenty of metallic but all are shiny. Can't wait to give this a try.

I've never watched your videos but know of your products. The gold and silver card is beautiful. I own practically everything but hav never tried embossing. Oh yes. I have the powders, heater, watermark pad, etc. I must start!!!

I have burned embossing powder more than I care to admit. Or, when embossing on watercolor paper, I heat it too long and it's totally soaking in to the paper. Practice on your scraps until you know what it should look like!
