Matt - you're completely right. The lack of competition means they have a monopoly & know they can get away with things, because we all want to play a decent football game. What are the alternatives?
The downside is, realistically, we're years away from a viable alternative. Even if UFL came out this year, its going to take a while to get the game to a good standard.
I agree striking won't help. Really the only way to hurt EA is through their profits. I do think there should be a collective strike against FIFA points.
No direct criticism of you, as 95% of your content is zero spend rtg based (main reason I watch) but we need to stop glamourizing these atrocious store packs & encouraging people to spend. It only takes one crazy pull on a stream & people will be spending £30/£40 on a single pack in the hope of something good.
If EA see their profits dip, they'll see were not content for them to keep churning out any old game and have to address at least some of the issues.

They probable weighted the odds directly with rating on an even scale instead of the 1/500 chance or whatever you would normally get to pack Mbappe. They clearly had an issue, if they leave it we all play against Mbappe the rest of the year and if they remove it we feel screwed for not playing 11 games in 5 hours. I’m not sure which is the lesser evil, but an apology and then give everyone else double rewards at the normal crap odds who plays WL this week seems more fair.

So there are actual tots in packs at the moment? Not seen one yet after opening lots of packs. Don’t remember seeing any from Bundesliga either. Unless you take a chance and buy packs which i will never do then it just ruins the game. You can tell if you should waste 15-20 minutes of your time on a team you could potentially beat, but most now are becoming unbeatable. I have no problem losing in a good balanced match, but when some see it almost fun to score three or four within 10 minutes, then pause the game expecting you to quick, or just pass the ball about not giving you any chance to get it back, then sorry but this game is just totally finished.

This sounds something like: "We will make a mistake for one, two or three hours, just to make them come to play the game and speak about the game." The game is not important, the person that is playing the game is not important, the only thing that matters, is that the game is spoken about. And the next year, everyone will buy it again, and when the game will be dead, the mistakes will begin.

Generally speaking, the lack of competition is one of the issues. Sadly, we all want a great football game, whereas EA is just taking advantage of us and pushing the limit of strategies and optimisation tactics with a focus on making money, increasing attention span and squeezing out of year-long game money as much as possible. The tactics that are used are to increase the "need" to upgrade your team within a couple of weeks, or you have a disadvantaged team. This pushes people to spend hours of time for menu grinding or casually just pay extra money every month for some promo packs to get those better players as people just don't have time to spend 70% of their time grinding menus and 30% of gameplay. With all the strategies on top of how fast the players improve with each promo, the market and coin-making strategies are also affected with a goal to have that "first-owner" squad-building element more valuable, which benefits more time in menus or spending money in promo packs, especially real casuals who would like to prioritise just some gameplay and build a squat in shorter time. Sadly, realistically, it is a squad-building game first and then a bit of gameplay.

Bad PR is more powerful than their bottom line, imo. The Battlefront issue was terrible PR, but they'd have probably still moved a metric tonne of game copies either way. The title of most disliked post was what embarrassed them in to change.
Creators can be blamed too, if their content is centred on FP pack openings then they are pushing packs for EA. At bare minimum this needs to stop. However, creators just playing the game and making fun RTGs etc are definitely not to blame - although it would be nice to hear more speak out more often, not encourage FP buying and also not encourage coin buying.

EA as a whole needs a HUGE revamp, because the things that goes around this company is just gross.....Starting with the alleged DDA and the way they manipulate human emotion to keep them hooked to the game...The complete absence of communication and feedback between the player base and the developers....The lack of effort developing their most popular game and avoiding creating meta playstyles...and the way that this game is easy to hack and disconnect other players..
These are problems that has nothing to do with football and you can project them on any game/company....imagine if a debuting company with a new game and it has these problems....that just means EA are living and feeding from their past glory and it's the only reason they keep getting away with everything..
The only way I see them lose is if another company makes a decent game of football. UFL is still missing for over two years , and there are rumors FIFA want to make their own game, until then, no boycott or PR can stop EA🤷‍♀

8:00 Yeah 30% percent of players on Xbox has got enough points to play weekend league it says in achievements. This is why the change of the rewards is so absurd too. You change the rewards for less than 1/4 of the all time players assuming that people stopped playing this game. It could even be a lot lower. This is exactly why we shouldn't say that we as a small amount can't force change because EA still thought it was to many players getting good rewards.

    REPOST.
I feel gulity for spending money on points, but I got an RTG England team, that I love and at times enjoy, but the past month, since TOTS started, the game hasn't being enjoyable, gameplay is everywhere, I was surprised I got to Elite 1 in squad battles the weekend just gone because I had so many disconnects last week. I prefer Squad battles and solo, better then stressful rivals and that, please don't judge me.
EA every year, brings out a game and features micro-transactions, and more companies are joining them, us public people who as Haber says, we spend £70-90 nearly on a standerd edition of the game. It is WRONG, it isn't an opinion, it is out-rightly outrageously wrong. The world must come together to stop these cooperates from cash-grabbing so much shit.
I had to buy points just to for example get packs to do 93 Chloe Kelly..or... 91 Dier... (Showdown) or.... 92 Wan-Bisakka... we shouldn't be doing this.... we should be earning it all at our own paces or... grinding easily for it.
I hope actions will be done, but nothing seems to work at this point.

The game in general is made to make you addicted. Not only packs, but the game itself is designed to make you become an addict like gambling addicts. EA is the Casino and the odds are against you, always. Regardless, you know that you'll lose everything when you go the casino but you will still go, because you're addicted. The same goes for playing this game, the odds are against you always. Question: What do you do when you get disconnected from the game? You will play it again. Or how do you react when you have input delay and desyncs? You will come back and play it. What I'm saying is, no matter what happens, and you know that every problem could reoccur while you are playing, but you keep coming back to the casino... That is why I believe every single issue, bug and glitch is intentionally built into the game

They need weeks or even months to change some bugs, or gameplay issues .. not to mention the hackers are still in game for 2 years now, disconnects, lags, shitty servers.... but they can " fix " rewards within hours. The only reason they fixed them is because those players are supposed to be only in store packs , and that is mad, community should unite and all the content creators also, to make a stand, at least to now spend fifa points for a month, and for sure EA will see the downfall in their income, the fact that they don't even apologize is just crazy... they don't deserve this community and our money, because first of all we pay for the game 60-100$ , unfinished game, buggy menu and probably one of the shittiest menu in modern games, and all the crappy stuff.. + people pay for fifa points to be able to pack something good . That should not be the case, I love how in 2 years they updated the store packs more than the game itself... Things need to change or they will add even more crap in the coming games.

Had a bit of time to reflect on ea
We cannot tell EA to improve the gameplay.
They made playstyle changes, made it so that you put players in with certain traits that work for you.
I love lofted pass pluses on defenders and whipped pass plus on the left wing, and trivela on the right wing.
I like a striker who has finesse shot plus.
Yes, some are more overpowered compared to others (flair versus incisive pass for example)
Ea even put evolutions in the game, they are trying to improve gameplay.
Also, people complain about packs in store, I have a 193 squad, I’m in division 2, my whole team is untradeable, I do sbcs and challenges, and I have packed toty ribery when toty was out and battle, players worth 4.5 million combined and they are untradeable.
Do I think that EA should maybe reduce how often they bring out huge packs? Yes, absolutely, the credibility of the game goes that way. But is it possible to be a good player without spending money, yes.
Nick obviously was sick of the game, but for the love of god it’s a game, there’s flaws, there’s good aspects.
If EA never brought new things to Fut I’d back him, but Ea do things for the game, they don’t just sit back and do nothing

You are right about some things and I wholeheartedly disagree that it won’t do anything. Yes there’s many casuals but us the hardcore players are actually the heart of the FIFA franchise. Yes they are catering the game to attract casuals but at the end of the day without us the hardcore players the game is absolutely meaningless. If us the hardcore players stop playing the game. There’s no such thing as division rivals, there’s no fut champs. These modes were made for the hardcore not for the casuals. And that’s where the mistake is. Thinking that casuals hold a stronger power grip on the game and it isn’t true. Casuals are more likely to end up buying coins, have their teams and play less during the week. Us. We play every single bloody day. We keep the game alive throughout the week. Not casuals. If we stop playing. EA will find themselves in a situation in which the game is barely played. They will go from FC 24 to Angry Birds. Without the hardcore players the game doesn’t exist. So no matter how many casuals play the game. Without us, the casuals will find themselves in a situation in which they play other casuals get bored and never “improve” and quit the game. So I disagree. Until we as a community realise that we are stronger than even the casuals. We will never get a good football game.
