Note 10+ vs Note 9 Wireless Charging Test: How Much Faster Is The Samsung 15W Wireless Charger?

  • Today we are doing a wireless charging test between the note 10 plus and note 9. The Note 10+ is capable of wirelessly charging at up to 15W whereas the note 9 is capped at 10W wireless charging speeds. Samsung also released a new 15W wireless charger alongside the note 10/10+ which is quite expensive at $80. My results definitely weren’t expected so be sure to let me know your thoughts on this one.

    Note 10 plus has 4300mah or 4.3ah battery, 15w charger is charging @1.67A ...... 4.4 divided by 1.67 gives you 2.57hrs or 2hr 34 mins for full charge time on 15w wireless charger. Your test is perfect, idk how other people are getting 1hr 50min time which is totally impossible.

      Correct!!! In Case of note 20 ultra having 4500 mAH battery, it takes 2 Hours and 49 minutes to charge by 15 watt wireless charging

    • @Dinos0001
      @Dinos0001 Před 3 lety

      Sorry but it doesn't work like that. 15w is the amount of power going to your phone. So a 5V 3A charger outputs the same as 9V 1,67A. Watts=Volts * Amps. So charing doesn't only depend on amps solely but volts too.
      15W doesn't take 2,5 hours to charge a 4300mah Samsung fast charging phone. It takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes. The 15w wireless charger should have charged the Note 10+ in less than two hours, as others have correctly showcased. The only problem is that heat plays a big role. Since wireless charging creates more heat than wired, the battery temp could rise and then it won't charge at 15w to protect it. That's why it fluctuates between 10w and 15w. If it's hot in your room, then it will not charge at 15w.
      So no, it's not impossible to get 1 hour and 50 minutes on a 15w wireless charger. Other's have showcased this so there's proof.
      I have the S20+ which has a 4500mah battery and with a 10w wireless charger, it takes 2 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%. With a Samsung 15W 9V 1,67A powerbrick, wired charging takes 1 hour and 50 minutes from 0% to 100%.

      @@Dinos0001 i m sure you are getting those results, but how i dont know. i have already done several wireless charging tests all the way from s8+ to note 20 ultra (samsung flagship phones only, 10W for older and 15W for newer phones), always using genuine samsung chargers and wall power adapters, three of my tests at home were inside fridge where the temperature was never above 7 degrees C. so a brand new phone, nothing installed, depleted all the battery, put in in fridge for 5 hrs to literally cool down and then placed wireless charger in fridge and even in that constant cold environment, it never gave me a reading below 2hrs 30mins mark. again i dont know how people are getting it and i m sure they are not wrong. but at least in my case, testing with 4 generations of flagships, my results are consistent but does not match with hypothetical results other people are getting.

    Shane, good video. I just ordered a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and it's coming in tomorrow. I've seen videos of the Samsung 25w charger and the Samsung 45w charger and those two definitely not much of a difference where they have a $30 difference in price so I'm ordering the 25w charger. Onto this video, I have a Samsung 9w wireless charger from 2018 that is slow. I'm interested in the Samsung Galaxy 15w wireless charger and it's definitely faster than the 10w charger you used. I am a long time Samsung Galaxy Note fan but was about to give up on Samsung initially. Several months back, I thought that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra was the last Note ever. Last year's Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra isn't a Note but the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is. Back to why I was going to give up on Samsung. First I thought the Note was done with. I don't like how Samsung got rid of the complimentary earphones years ago but it was overlooked but I can't overlook (since last year) Samsung getting rid of the AC adaptor and only giving you a type-C USB cable. That's extremely cheap and pathetic by Samsung for a smartphone that costs over $1,000 (which is something I don't like either hence a third reason) to not include an AC adapter. The only reason I ordered my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is because I was giving a $200 gift card to use. With that, I'm going to buy two 25w chargers (the other one will be for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra once it goes on sale again for 5G service which also Samsung's smart tablets also don't come with AC adaptors). So with the $200, I can again get two 25w chargers, the 15w wireless charger in this video, an OtterBox Defender case, and have money left over for another accessory so I'm getting the 15w wireless charger since it's not going to cost me anything. Going forward if I decide to upgrade to the next Samsung Galaxy S-series Ultra, I'll only do it as long as I get gift cards to buy the AC adaptors that should come with these $1,000+ smartphones.

    This is the best test of wireless charging on Samsung smartphones, regardless of the fact that it is more than two years old. Too bad I didn't look at it earlier... Yesterday I paid $45 for a 20w Xiaomi wireless charger with a mi 27w adapter. It takes 2h 40min to charge the S21FE to 100% (15w fast Wireless charging, 4500mAh battery). A cheap under $10 wired 25w charger will do the same in 1h 17min. Conclusion: wireless chargers are a waste of money, unless you are in the office or at home and your smartphone is sitting on the desk all day.

    Please help me understand something. I have a Note 9, and bought a 10w wireless charging pad (brand is CIrcle). In the store, it was activating "Fast Charge" but at home, it was not. I am not sure what they were plugged into at the store, but am home, I am trying to use my stock Note 9 Samsung adapter provided with the phone (DC9v 1.67A or DC 5v 2.0 amp). Is my stock Note 9 "Adaptive Fast Charging" power adapter unable to provide enough power to make a 10w wireless charger work at "Fast Charge," or do I need to upgrade to a better power adapter to get this Fast Charge capability from a wireless charge device? The power adapter does activate Fast Charge when I plug it into the phone directly, but only works on slow speed wirelessly. Thank-you.
