Running the Pikes Peak Ascent 2021

What is it like to run to the top of a 14,000-foot mountain? Come with me as I pack for the Pikes Peak Ascent, run it, and show you around the top of Pikes Peak (including the new visitor center)!
The Pikes Peak Ascent is a grueling 13.3-mile race from Manitou Springs, Colorado, to the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak. With a vertical climb of 7,800 feet up the historic Barr Trail and an average grade of 11%, it's no easy race. This was my third time running it but the last time I ran it was in 2018 when they stopped the race at the halfway point because of predicted severe weather at the top of the mountain.
