    When I drive my Black 1986 Fiero GT, it's a driving experience. It gets a lot of looks and people 40 and under always ask what it is.
    I can appreciate becoming engaged with going through the gears of the 4 speed manual transmission, while creating the crackle of the exhaust when downshifting. The way the road feels inches below you as you carve the pavement feeling the feedback though the steering wheel. It won't throw you back hard, however it loves to be thrown around a twisty road. Anyone that owns or owned one knows exactly what I mean. That old saying "don't knock it, till you try it" Rings true for the Fiero.

      100% well said. Its a great car and those who have them love them... I now see why. I always thought they were cool but after being in one Im happy not to be dissapointed.

    The Fiero imo was an absolutely amazing car in every way. Always wanted one and have more of a run then they did. The GT was my favorite from 86 to 88.

    The technique Albert mentioned where GM used sacrificial lugs as body panel mounting points to be milled to spec once the chassis was assembled was pretty damn clever. The Fiero was really a tour of Pontiac's innovative soul. It's a shame that Chevrolet was so protective of their damn Corvette, too. Frankly, the C4 was perfectly capable of handling itself and I doubt there really would have been much overlap between buyers.
    I like to think of the Fiero as Pontiac saying to John DeLorean, "Here, this is how you do that."

    • @SubdivisionAuto
      @SubdivisionAuto  Před 9 měsíci

      Agreed such a differnt car. I love the Fiero but could care less about the corvette but thats just me. Guess they didnt see it that way nor want to take any chances. Thanks for dropping in! Hope you check out some of the other cars some unique ones on here...

      @@SubdivisionAuto My daily driver is a 1989 Corvette so I see both sides of their dilemma. The Fiero wasn't the first time Pontiac threatened the golden child, either. The first instance was their Banshee concept from the late 60s. Also shot down by upper management.
