    Your audition process has really been helpful to me. As a guitarist, I tend to pick one beat and play over it for too long. When I catch a riff or progression I want to work with, I’ll build a stand song from the creator. But the teaks you make to the bears are really inspiring and I’m starting to play with more now.
    Another great one, Shawn! And I’ll definitely be taking advantage of the Groove Monkee code.

    Another great video. I'm wondering if you have a video on how to save each drum part as a separate .wav file to import into a DAW. I've done it before but it's been a while and I can't remember how to do it but I really like mixing my drums in my daw with each drum as separate instruments plus room and overhead mics, and such. Thanks in advance for your help.

      If there’s no tempo changes in your song, use the track menu within easy drummer. otherwise you want to use a manual export method with your daw after routing. I do have daw routing vids if needed.

    Hi Thanks for these 2 videos about creating a beat in your DAW. I am currently trying out the trial version with Cubase, I created an instrument track for EZ drummer, the question is, how do i get to see the actual track in the DAW after it has been created? is there a way to do this, or does everything stay inside the EZ drummer interface and we can just hear it play back...Just curious about this as I am used to building things with Groove agent where we can see the midi info on the track....thanks!

    I dont think you covered it but my problem is that when I copy and paste the midi into the Daw editor and play back it just sounds like midi - not like the preset / or customization I have made. How do I link the actual sound (not just midi) into my track?

    • @ShootieSchool
      @ShootieSchool  Před 6 měsíci

      Drag it to the same track that EZD is on. Midi actually has no sound without a virtual instrument, so you're hearing something that the midi is triggering.

  • @chuckkelly5055

    Hey Shawn. Great lesson. I have a question, maybe you can point me to a specific one of your videos or a quick answer. I was playing around with the grooves in EZD3 and then added EZD3 as a plug in in GarageBand. I played the drum parts of a song and then when I played it back, the EZD3 groove plays over my drum part and I cant seem to remove it. It’s gone from EZD3 now but those bars still play over my song. Is it possible I saved it as a patch and it loads whenever I use the plug in. I’m just a confused beginner. I can’t see any of the notes in GarageBand but they go away when I mute the track and come back when unmute.

    • @ShootieSchool
      @ShootieSchool  Před rokem +1

      If you’re confident that you deleted easy drummer three, then it sounds like a bug. Drums can exist twice, once in garage band and once in ezd3. They will overlap if you don’t stay. With one or the other. That’s the only thing I can think of.

    • @chuckkelly5055
      @chuckkelly5055 Před rokem +1

      I figured it out. I had the drum groove in EZD3 and then brought into GarageBand , then saved a patch. The groove is/was in the patch so every time I added the EZD3 plugin, it came with the patch. I removed the patch saved a new patch without any notes coming from EZD3. Problem gone. Thank you for having so much great content!

    When you said that exporting then importing into bandmate was too much hassle, I couldn't help thinking - not for the first time - that Toontrack really messed up not using the same system from EZBass so that it could use the audio already in your DAW. Just seems like they delivered a great feature then crippled it out of the gate by having to export/import every time. Did they ever say why it has to be done this way?

    • @ShootieSchool
      @ShootieSchool  Před 2 lety +1

      I forget exactly how I said it, but in this video I meant that Bandmate wouldn't find me beats that suited me. Regardless, the EZBass workflow for files does seem better. I have not heard why they chose one method over the other yet.

    love your videos. have helped me a lot. but, when you humanize your manually input notes, some of them need to be much farther off of the 1/8 note or the 1/16 or 1/32 note. no drummer gets as close on every note. shouldn't some of them be left out completely. no one would ever hear this in the song itself. it would be subliminal which, on that level, would make us more feel like a human being is playing the drums. peace out. your work is amazing.

No intro, no thanks for donations, no mentioning subs none of that stuff. Retention for those first few seconds is CRUCIAL. The first words out of your mouth should be "Here's how you do it!" boom dive right into the tutorial. Push all the sub mentions and the donation thanks to the end of the video. Also, avoid asking for too much action at the end of your videos. To sell the click turn your head and point one video. This should increase views. Keep fighting bro. You're gonna go big.
