As a die hard Leaf fan, this will never not hurt. Nothing but the utmost respect for the Bruins & how they've built their organization since the mid 2000's
Even though the Leafs collapsed, they showed heart just to get to that point. Bruins were up 3-1 and Toronto won the next two games and took the 4-1 lead in Game 7
This year hurt even more though as they had a 3 goal lead with 11 minutes left in the game and then they blew it. I myself am a Bruins fan though. Was watching this game in my bedroom and switched off the TV at 12:00 to go. I had no hope. Then after the game, I was on the iPad, thinking they lost, checked the score, and they had tied it with 19:00 left in OT. I immediately turned on the TV and watched.
Steeljojo You just gotta believe. Be a true fan! I was doing homework and finished just after the leafs went up 4-1. I went into the living room, saw what the score was, and decided to watch the rest of the game anyway, and watched the entire comeback. You can't just abandon our team like that! In fact, this whole sequence is like America vs. Russia in the Olympics; no matter how many times I watch Miracle, my heart still flips over whenever the game gets intense, even though I know the outcome will be for America. This highlight reel still has me freaking out until the overtime goal even though I know the outcome. My heart kept missing beats, my breath catching in my throat, when I watched this game with my family at the time, and it still does that now.
How fitting it was Bergeron. He has been the rock for almost 2 decades. He was a kid when he came to Boston and we are lucky to have been able to watch him grow up into one of the best Bruins ever.
This game, along with game 7 of the 2010 collapse against the Flyers, cemented my absolute respect for Jack Edwards. As much of a homer as he is (which I argue is a good thing), his enthusiasm for the Toronto goals was awesome. And his ability to emphasize the importance of each moment is a reason I go to this version of the highlights from this comeback instead of the national broadcasts. I'm not even a Bruins fan, but this game is still one of my best memories as a hockey fan.

I was watching the game, in supporting my wife's Boston team, but little did I knew then, it was a HELL OF GAME!!! And the fact that P.Bergeron scored the tying and winning goal, just made it sweeter!!! A game for the books!!!
And he’s even gotten even better. People forget he nearly had his career derailed by a concussion in 2007 but he not only came back, but became a better player and all around hall of famer. Even as a sharks fan, Bergeron is one of my top 10 favorite players in NHL history ever. Just a complete class act on an off the ice.
I was at this game, will never forget it! Best time I've ever had. Nobody sat down after they scored the third goal. The time between the 3rd and OT was incredible, everybody was singing, having a good time, cheering. I will never forget! :) Also, a lot of the towels being thrown onto the ice were from Leafs fans. You better believe Bruins fans wanted to keep those towels. I have mine, it's the lucky one! :) haha
"With the point of the dagger at their throats they rip it out of Toronto's hands and kill the beast!" Oh man you gotta love Jack Edwards and his poetic narrations.
I had the amazing luck to have taken my 8 year old son to his first ever professional sporting event that night. Told him it’s going to be hard to top this one 🤣
As a leaf fan, it sucks to see us lose. We've competed against you guys with heart, dedication, guts and glory and It sucks to see the whole team getting caught in a total let down. Next year, it's gonna be much more different. We have faith and we will never sweat our tears off. We will continue to forget what happened to us three past years ago. This is a rivalry that will make History in years. We will never forget this day. Good series Boston! :)
Cracks me up when Toronto fans use the Bruins Chicago loss as some sort of "revenge". We have memories from this game, and memories of winning in 2011, honestly that loss was one of the least painful losses in the past decade for Boston sports, can't really explain it, but probably a big reason was this comeback, anything after that was bonus.
They had still won the Cup 2 years before this though. I win 1 then get back to the finals a few years later, that's pretty impressive. Lots of teams still have never been there.
At least Boston took it from those grimy little Canucks fans that I have the utmost misfortune of living with. #kingsfaninvancouver Chicago with two cups in four years. Dang.
And to think I thought the Pit-Phi rivalry was intense. Eastern conference in general is weaker than the West: 5/8 of the playoff spots in the West are clinched while only two are clinched in the east. DER
It's a 4-1 Toronto lead in the third period. At 9:46, the NESN announcer says "The Toronto Maple Leafs, unless they suffer a Colossal Collapse, are going to eliminate the Boston Bruins." And boy did the Leafs collapse. We will probably never see a collapse like that for a long time. 11 mins was all Toronto had to get thru but in the end couldn't hold it. I wish I could've seen the crowd in Toronto after Bergeron's series winning goal in OT. One of the best hockey games I have ever seen and probably will ever see! Go Bruins!!!!!!!!!
We already have seen a more colossal collapse. In 2010, your team blew a 3-0 series lead against the Philadelphia Flyers. All you chumps had to do was win one more game. But NOPE. You got arrogant and paid dearly. Also, I'll bet this didn't hurt us Leafs fans as much as you guys losing in the Stanley Cup Finals to the Blackhawks.
@@ThePianoPlayer4Ever Nope. It hurts not winning the cup in 22+ years. I wasn't alive for the other 28 years so I don't care. At any rate, it would certainly hurt for you guys to exit the playoffs early this year.

Brings tears to my eyes every time. Currently watching while the league is on pause from Covid-19. Not sure if they’ll continue the season. The joy and passion this team brings must live on. Really hope we get another moment like this soon, especially with how great this team has been this season
***** all of them. you have to have blown a whole bunch of games to have never made it to the SCF in your history. Most notably recently the 3-0 series lead in 2014
I remember watching the 3rd period, thinking Boston wouldn't come back. 4-1, game 7, there's no way in hell. Then after they scored the 2nd goal to make it 3-4, I thought their luck ran out. I was surprised to see Bergeron score that last goal to make it 4-4. I was just totally in awe. I've NEVER seen a comeback like that, and I may never see one like it again. But I'm so glad I got to witness history made.
Wow, after I saw the score in the 3rd period, I left the room and went to bed. The next day everyone was talking about it and I thought they were joking. When I found out it was true, I was shocked.
The Maple Leafs didn't blow this. The Bruins had and built so much momentum that they weren't going to be denied. What a victory ! but the BlackHawks were so talented and got the Cup that year.
As a leafs fan this video gets me so emotional, I remember this game having the time of my life watching this series and this game, when kadri freaks out in happiness at his 4-1 goal I get the chills and when they lose it gets me so sad to see the team I love and the series I loved watching all go down in flames. Thank god the leafs r doing great nowadays but these highlights seriously get me emotional man
I was a hockey player my whole childhood, born in 1960, Bruins were the heros of my youth, that goal Orr scored to win the cup is imprinted on my 10 years old brain. So I was tuned in to this game, 4 to 1 is nearly impossible to come back from, especially at the NHL level, I jumped outta my seat, thrilling chain of events.
Look, I don't care how much you hate the Bruins or whatever, but you have to give them credit for doing something that happens very rarely. Never give up hope in a team.
I hate Boston only because they're so fucking good...at least that's a legit reason other than because they play dirty. Goddamn. It's a hate-them-but-respect-them kind of thing for me.
Looking at that OT goal, with Seguin battling in front with Gardner and Franson, managing to just get his skate on the loose puck before Grabovski could clear it, then getting the puck to Bergeron...That was all a HUGE effort by him. Boston never should have given him up.
I always love watching this game for so many reasons. 1. I'm a Bruins fan from Toronto , and I remember watching this with my dad, a leafs fan. 2. Watching the reactions of the leafs fans when Bergeron scored in the 3rd and OT, and I still remember going to school the next day and all my friends just hated me that day q:
They should have a Statue of Patrice Bergeron outside of TD Garden

He definitely will be once Chara retires.
+Mitch S or when Don Sweeney gets his head out of his ass and trades him for a better/younger defensemen. so far, I'm not liking him as the gm.

As a Bruins fan I respect what you say and agree!
Ill drink to that!... cheers!
I watch this now to give me joy of when the Bruins could do anything
Your avatar represents the Bruins now :^)
+Mike Hawk (Hertz) yup had to change it after the dougie trade
Good thing he's -9 with Calgary. Dude can't play D to save his life.
yah still wish the return was better and we waited. Also decided to change my pic to the best part of this season. The anthems. #renedeservesbetter
+Alex G The Bruins are doing great now...
Patrice Bergeron is already a Bruins Legend.
@@Handles754 Yea that 07 concussion was brutal and early in the season. Never heard the garden that silent before.
I was at this game, will never forget it! Best time I've ever had. Nobody sat down after they scored the third goal. The time between the 3rd and OT was incredible, everybody was singing, having a good time, cheering. I will never forget! :)
Also, a lot of the towels being thrown onto the ice were from Leafs fans. You better believe Bruins fans wanted to keep those towels. I have mine, it's the lucky one! :) haha
Greatest comback I've ever seen, period.
"With the point of the dagger at their throats they rip it out of Toronto's hands and kill the beast!" Oh man you gotta love Jack Edwards and his poetic narrations.
I’m like 90% sure he does a fat line of coke before each period
Matt Bowen ... idk bout before Periods but I’ve done Snappers with a cpl times . He’s a good dude - bit of a wild man once he gets cooking
Lucic, most underrated Bruin of all time. 2011, 2013 cup runs...always on the ice when it mattered most!!! Miss that guy
The most underrated bruins player of all time is 100% David krejci
When Bergeron Retires a Boston Bruin Retire his number with him absolute 🐐
The call at 14:18 will always give me chills
~Blue Jackets fan
Whose here after the Bergeron retirement?? True goats if you are.
Me. First thing I watched after seeing the news
Very very upset today
I had the amazing luck to have taken my 8 year old son to his first ever professional sporting event that night.
Told him it’s going to be hard to top this one 🤣
20:55 still gives me chills, missing the days when we actually did something in the playoffs
BigBadBruins37 welcome back
Should have won in 2019, smh.
@@greysonG10 and 2020 but tbf that was because of covid shit
Watching this game gave my goose bumps and now watching this again, it was just so special.!!!
Bergeron is a gem
Watching this video always makes me proud to be a Boston fan.
Much respect, usually Leafs fans aren't as classy as you are. Good series Toronto!!
Good luck to you, hockey is a game about having pleasure and respect!
Exactly. Good luck to the Leafs the rest of the season!
Thanks a lot! :)
No.
I hope the Bruins are able to recreate some of this excitement again in my lifetime. I'll never forget this.
I almost had two heart attacks watching this live. I still get the chills watching this.
One of the best play off match I´ve ever seen. Fantastic story. Love it.
I don't care if we lost the Stanley Cup. We won this game.
Bryant O also the Bruins lost to Chicago, if Boston was going to loose to anyone I'm happy it was them
At least Boston took it from those grimy little Canucks fans that I have the utmost misfortune of living with. #kingsfaninvancouver Chicago with two cups in four years. Dang.
And to think I thought the Pit-Phi rivalry was intense. Eastern conference in general is weaker than the West: 5/8 of the playoff spots in the West are clinched while only two are clinched in the east. DER
The shot of Maple Leafs square when they tied it is priceless
Even 7 years later this game still gives me goosebumps...
Seeing Boychuk... that was a crime losing him.
@@julianseguin2748 I bet it hurts not winning the cup in 50+ years
@@ThePianoPlayer4Ever
Nope. It hurts not winning the cup in 22+ years.
I wasn't alive for the other 28 years so I don't care.
At any rate, it would certainly hurt for you guys to exit the playoffs early this year.
Julian Seguin well this didn’t age well
@@kevinmurphy5953
Not sure whether you're trying to be an asshole or not.
Either way, the conversation is moot.
When I'm in a bad mood or feeling depressed, I watch this. Cheers me up every time. Best. Bruins. Game. Ever.
Thomas, Chara, Seguin and Milan Lucic. Nothing lasts forever but that is a mean fucking hockey team.
not to mention Thornton, Horton and Boychuck. I miss the 2011 Bruins
I've watched this about 20 times in 3 years....love it
My favorite Eastern conference team are the Bruins and I watch this game everyday to see the Laughs choke and it brings a smile to my face every time I watch it especially 14:15.
Every year or so I come back and watch this
It gives me the chills
When Boston scored their 3rd goal, I KNEW that they were gonna win that game
8 years later and this still warms my heart.
Who’s watching this before game 7 2019
Jbus Kicks we winning go bruins!
Jbus Kicks me
Prath Kanth nah kid leafs are gone
@@pratheepank7621 ha leafs are gone
Prath Kanth idk you seem to care man
Brings tears to my eyes every time. Currently watching while the league is on pause from Covid-19. Not sure if they’ll continue the season. The joy and passion this team brings must live on. Really hope we get another moment like this soon, especially with how great this team has been this season
Hockey will come back. Crowds will be just as loud at the first games back
I knew in my heart they would save the game and come back to win.💛🖤
"But Patrice Bergeron Jack, is their a better professional?" Fuck no there isn't.
blowing a 3 goal lead with 14:30 left in the period is some Sharks-level chokeage
+Suburbannite I see what you did there.
That's funny I'm a bruins and sharks fan 1 because I live in Boston and 2 my mom lives in San Jose.
What game did the sharks blow?
***** all of them. you have to have blown a whole bunch of games to have never made it to the SCF in your history. Most notably recently the 3-0 series lead in 2014
Suburbannite Oh shit! Hah, I remember hearing about that series against the Kings. Pretty pathetic honestly..
ill never forget watching this hockey game. best game ive seen in 28 years
10 yrs now & still the greatest single comeback game in nhl history. "It's not over till its over" the most blue collar team in my lifetime.
Powerrangergirl-the lost ranger I'm not even a Leafs/Bruins fan. I was just watching the game out of shear joy.
I can understand that. It's the greatest comeback I've ever seen in hockey.
Possibly and arguably never going to be topped.
Thank god the leafs r doing great nowadays but these highlights seriously get me emotional man
Greatest game I've ever seen in my life
9:47 he called it.. whos here after 2021 game 7
Aye man I’m here 🥲
Lost a 3-1 lead. Dont know what's worse, this series or this game in 2013
11:28 the save of the series.
Lewis Cho same thing for me but it's the blackhaeks I hate
Well...Chicago DID win two cups in four years with ALMOST the same lineup....that's something to be respected about....whether you hate it or not.
whatthedota
Lol no their lineup was completely different... Pretty much their whole team broke apart after 2010 (except for several core guys)
No you don't!!! I still hate them to this day!!!
I know you're watching this in 2021 wanting some authentic Bruins playoff hockey like I am
Nothing beats sportsmanship! Gotta love how this game ended!
The lows and the highs that night. Can't wait to see Bruins play again. Cheers from Bergen, Norway !
7 years later! What an epic win that was.
Looking at that OT goal, with Seguin battling in front with Gardner and Franson, managing to just get his skate on the loose puck before Grabovski could clear it, then getting the puck to Bergeron...That was all a HUGE effort by him. Boston never should have given him up.
I thought maybe watching this again would be less painful but boy was I wrong... I was so mad that night :(
What's ur problem
MultiJackadams never mind just looked at your posts, pretty much answered my question.
Maple leafs fan ?
Yeah sadly haha . I was actually cheering for Boston against Habs but apparently I'm like a jinx cause every team I cheer for loses :p
go habs go, montreal for the fucking cup.
Ill never forgot this game. One of the best comebacks in sports history
Watching this as a leafs fan.. i just collapsed onto the floor and layed there motionless and numb for like an hour
Goosebumps every time.
I love it when the crowd goes crazy. Maybe even more than the actual sport (that may be pushing it)
I've watched this 15 times! I remember every second of it.. just amazing and just the goosebumps you get.
