I mean, I'm not a superhero but work a physically intensive job and I braid my hair every morning similarly. It helps keep everything out of the way

🕷🕷🕷I loved the fact that there were so many braids in this movie…aka hairstyles that women in battle situations would actually wear. I literally wear Yelena’s braids all the time…like before the movie came out lol. It’s just been one of my go to styles since highschool because I wear my hair super long and I live in central texas so on most summer days it’s either that or a top knot 😅
Same, I absolutely love that style and always did it... Because I hate long open hair on myself and that style is just so amazing looking...
Yes! I live in Austin and my hair used to go all the way to to my bottom and I wore Dutch braids.

The updo is how I’ve been wearing my hair for years at work. I’m uniformed, and have hairstyle requirements. My hair is long enough that I usually tie a square knot with the braids, then use spiral pins to secure the whole thing. Wears comfortably for the whole day, and no scalp tension!

I think it is kind of a a medival inspired updo. Morgan Donner has a video about those. And yes sometimes they are sown to each other.

I’m on my monthly rewatch of the movie and I noticed this cool little detail: for Nat’s final fight hairstyle, its actually a braid instead of a ponytail. It just magically becomes a ponytail when she leaps off the rail after Yelena

The easy version of Yelena's braids is one of my go-to 2nd day or wet hair hairdos, but the trick with twisting the strands on the front/above ears is amazing and just makes it so much more elevated in my opinion. Thank you!

After two hours of struggling, I failed miserably to pin the braids in place in Yelena’s hairstyle. I guess my hair is too long and thick... Any suggestions?
Idk but you could maybe try the roller pins and kinda screw them into your head?
if it's because your hair is too thick, maybe you can try twisting the two braids together and tying them like a bun? it wouldn't look as accurate but it will definitely hold it in place.
