Spider-man is an incredibly endearing and enduring character, to the degree that many filmmakers have taken it upon themselves to try and tell a meaningful story within his universe. Fan films is what I'm talking buddy! Some succeed, many fail! And only a few can be featured in a video. Let's talk about 'em.

I kinda disagree about the Cake Day part. It feels like the visual storytelling is heavily inspired by Edgar Wright and something like Pixar. Combined with intentionally over-the-top delivery, it gives it a very unique style
Peter France has made a couple of shorts since then and they all have that similar feeling - it's definately an artistic choice rather than a shortcoming of being youtuber
Considering the VFX were very rushed, it's still amazing how grounded and polished the CG parts look. Peter knows limitations of real cameras and tries to obey them with a special oomph
Peter’s Web by Roger King is an underrated series. That’s right, I said SERIES! Definitely should take a look at those and I promise you… You can get a banger video out of it. So much heart and soul. The reason it became a series was because he just kept filming and adapted so many iconic stories. PLEASE Check it out! 🙏
Peter's Web is the goat of all spiderman fan films. Web of spiderman from the guys making monsters of manhattan was also awesome and would have made a good Netflix series

This is so true, Peter’s web series is the king of all spider-man fan film projects and is on my top 3 personal fav fan film made movies on the web-slinger of all time and the others being viva: spider-man (1989) & spider-man: The green goblin’s last stand (1992) of course I gotta put those, because these are the real spidey fan films that fans should notice more often than not.
Have you ever checked out Peter’s Web, I mean I guess it wouldn’t count since it’s not really a fan film, more like a fan series, but that’s what I like about it. It’s so lengthy and details Peter’s life in the comics from being a teenager to becoming an adult so accurately

Have to get on the bandwagon and agree that Peter's Web is extremely underrated. The best fan series I've personally seen that's inspired me in more ways than one.
I think you were a bit hard on cake day. Yeah it’s not movie quality but this was made as a CZcams short and it’s a damn good one at that. Sure the acting is pretty bad but it sort of ads to its charm to me
If you want to see the most insane Spider-Man fan film, I recommend Spider-Man 4: The Cold Day in Hell! It is absolutely bonkers and fun!
So much of the negatives of Spider-Man cake day are so off the line lmao, it’s fine, everything about it is good. So much unnecessary “well I mean, it’s okay, some parts are-“ it sounds jarring

i find the low budget stuff charming as hell
It’s mainly because they come from heart and fun, low budget fan films are made by fans that really love how the original story is and then make it in the best way as they can and hell, sometimes the actors are pretty good actors even with little to know acting classes and such
Like the points made in the video, but for Cake Day’s defence, corridor released a video on their other channel of the behind the scenes for it; and the CG was made by one guy who only had like 2 days to make it

My friend and I want to make a film entitled Fake Spiderman Of The Legacy in 2027 and it will be released on CZcams in 2028. This film tells the story of an unknown young man who accidentally finds a Spiderman costume and a web shooter, he then saves a little girl from fire after that he decided to become spiderman even though he didn't have any strength he then trained his physical strength intensively such as 500 push ups 500 punches and running 50 kilometers he also trained his instincts which were even equivalent to spidersense he called his instincts Evoled human sense but the principle is more towards an anti-hero, namely a hero must kill so that the world can be better. He also modified the red and blue Spiderman costume with a large white spider symbol on his chest and he also modified the web shooter into a colored spider shape. white which produces spider webs continuously so how many ratings do you give to my film?

Corridor Crew didn't make the actual Cake Day fan film.
Iirc it was produced, written, and directed by Peter France. A known employee and associate of Corridor who was actually away from the company and attending college while he made this film. He did most of the VFX himself and worked with a very small team to make it happen.
Corridor simply stepped in at the very end of the project when producing became too hard to manage. But even by then the movie was completely out of principal photography and Peter was still working on the project by himself for the most part.
(this is all off the top of my head I might have some details wrong)
Cake Day isn't my favorite or anything but keep that in mind when it comes to judging a project like that.
