Casey is his older sister's name. She drove a yellow car like the one in the video. From a poor family they didn't have much...like records. So the only music Darren got to really listen to and sing along with as a kid was riding in his sister's car listening to the radio. It's the only place you can be really free. Driving in your car with the windows down, the radio on, and singing at the top of your lungs.
Darren saw beyond the fame and fortune. He doesn't want to be controlled by the record labels. He doesn't want to be like the rest. He wants to be himself and do it the way he wants - which is what he's doing now. Yea, it's a shame he's not getting the recognition he deserves - but in the end he doesn't care for it - neither should we.
I was fortunate enough to see him live last year in Toronto. He was all i expected AND MORE. There's a synergy between him and the audience.

I love all of Darren's music, but this has gotta be one of my faves. Love the video, love the artist, love the song. He is absolutely amazing live I went to see him in Nottingham and Newcastle.

I've been a figure skater since I was a little girl and the past few months I've been training for an exabition show.I veer away from classical music for these shows and I was looking for a brilliantly beautiful song to match my style when I came across Casey.I knew it was the song for me.I have to say I choreographed an equally stunning routine.I hope did your song justice.I performed it last weekend. Everyone commented on how beautiful Casey is.I was a crowd favorite that night :)

I was watching a video interview of Darren Hayes about his early life. He used to be driven around in a yellow car listening to music, that was his sort of escape. just to be picked up by that yellow car and listen to music in the car. The cars nickname is CASEY. Like in she song "Driving in your car with the windows down and a beat up stereo" In the video it's a yellow car, and near the beginging you can see a photgraph of the yellow car in real life. So CASEY is a car.
