    I need to rip on this movie just as much as Phelous does, but it's only for one part: the scene with the zombie attacking the pregnant girl makes no sense in terms of how zombies work. Zombies have no form of intelligence what so ever, they attack by charging and pouncing on their prey much like a cheetah chasing a gazelle would. That zombie made a well aimed punch through that girl's stomach and ripped her baby out deliberately as if he knew she had one inside her and he wanted to get it. I have seen tons of zombie movies and zombie kills are never that precise or well executed because zombies don't have that kind of thought capacity. Automaton Transfusion, you have failed as a horror movie about zombies because you couldn't get the most basic aspect of these monsters correct

    • @komori88
      @komori88 Před 6 lety +8

      @ Denise Sierra. hmm I'd say zombies act more like rabid dogs or plagued rat swarms. see big cats(as well as wolves) actually aim for vitals (usually the throat) when they pounce/strike but rabid dogs or swarms of rats simply latch onto whatever they get their jaws on and begin tearing into their target which is more like what one see's in a zombie swarm when the devour a target ....

    • @markcobuzzi826
      @markcobuzzi826 Před 7 lety +12

      +IAmTheUnison
      Yeah, in the original Haitian folklore, a zombie was used to refer to a person who had his soul and body torn apart through black magic, leaving the now soulless body to be manipulable under a supernatural trance. The zombies do have some intelligence of their own, but lack any free will and are essentially mindless slaves of the sorcerer or "bokor."
      The original monsters in "Night of the Living Dead" were based more on the ghoul, a demonic/undead creature of Arabian folklore that is associated with graveyards, feeds on human flesh, and has the ability to shape-shift between human-looking and more animalistic forms. The characters in the movie even call them ghouls. Romero took that concept that gave them the ability to turn some of their human victims into more of their own kind (directly borrowed from the vampires of "I Am Legend"), while also giving them the appearance/movements more like someone under a trance (which is the only vague similarity they have to the original zombies). The only reason the name, "zombie," stuck with Romero's monsters was because Dawn of the Dead was later retitled to "Zombi," by people marketing it in certain European countries, which also resulted in other people trying to make their own "Zombi" movies to capitalize on the popularity started by Romero's film franchise.
      As one last side-note in retrospect, if Capcom was being more true to the original roots, the T-Virus mutated people should have been called ghouls (because they resemble demonic undead cannibals, driven purely by animal instinct, and can transform into more bestial forms like the Crimson Head and Licker), while the humans infected with Las Plagas parasites in the RE4/RE5 games and the RE Damnation movie would be more like the actual zombies (since those are otherwise normal humans that had their minds taken over and now serve as slaves to the hive-mind of their cult masters, with some level of intelligence, dexterity, and speaking skills intact).

    Am I the only one who never got the "You gotta shoot then in the head" trope with zombies? I mean, think about it: If they eat, logically they must need a digestive systen and a circulatoiry systen to get the nutrients to their muscles so they can actually move around. If they can walk around without any form of energy, then that is kind of breaking the laws of physics here( Unless maybe if you throw magic into the picture, situation on which you can argue the energy that lets then move comes from the necromancer that created then or whatnot... Yeah, kind of weird how throwing magic INTO the picture makes zombies more scientifically plausible )., and by that logic, I am unsure why they actually need a functional neural systen. I mean, all of those internal orgains are there for a reason: The brain cannot operate if everything else isnt going smoothly... I am overthinking this.

    • @GrowlyGal
      @GrowlyGal Před 6 lety

      I remember watching something once where the zombies would eventually die whether they were killed or not because their bodies would continue to degrade and the only reason a headshot was necessary is because they're not alive but literally just reanimated. So in other words even though they have the urge to eat it doesn't actually nourish them. Maybe that's why zombies are always hungry? So by destroying the head you're taking away what guides their impulses. It's an interesting question though and I wish more zombie movies would play with different types of zombies. I could really get into a zombie movie where they had to be burned and any remaining piece would continue to animate. You could get some interesting visuals in something like that, especially in the hands of the right director.

Famous ones include a automaton that can write poetry in English and French, and draw pictures. Another was known as The Turk, which could play chess. And a few others as well as the ones recorded to have been in the hanging gardens, and King Solomon's throne and garden.
