What did you do for the transition to the floor on the hallway? I’m doing the same on my stairs except I’m using bamboo. I can’t dismantle the stair treads as they are built as one with the stringers.

Curious to know if any of those bullnose caps have ever come loose? Seems that using only glue to affix, unlike the pieces behind it on each tread that are more fully secured with nails, they would be susceptible to pulling away with regular use.

Never - It’s been two years and the steps look like the day I put them in. We go up and down these stairs all day.

I guess it was carpet stairs. How did you cut the base wood so flush to the vertical board? What saw did you use? Did you sand it? Thank you.

I replaced the carpet upstairs with the same hardwood the year prior to doing these stairs. As far as making it flush it’s just about measuring correctly - you could put the top riser piece and draw a line from the back. As far as my saw - I just have an old table saw and a dewalt miter saw. No sanding - the flooring is pre- finished

@@jessicadavis5580 Thank you for the reply. I actually mean the wood under the hardwood floor you added. My baseboard has an overhang nose and I have to cut them before I put on the hardwood floor. I was wondering how you could cut the nose so flush.

@@jessicadavis5580 You know what, I got the answer from your first video. I found that you took off the board and use the table saw to cut it. I didn't take it off and used a jigsaw to cut the nose which gave me a painful hard time. You have done a very good job. Thank you.

Ahhh yes - I had mdf stair treads that needed to be replaced - made things a little easier for me!
